  1. Happy weekend everyone. It's finally beginning to feel like Christmas around here after a beautiful elongated fall. We usually go straight from hot summer to cold winter in northern Ohio.

Unless someone else is typing right now, I think this is my first time to be the first commenter. Wow! The midnight owls must have gone to bed early. Congratulations to all the winners and newly published. Have a blessed day.

  2. Congratulations to all of the winners. Tina, you've sold another WW story? Wow! Congratulations!
    Have a great weekend everyone.

  3. Everybody needs to buy the new issue of WW and read Tina's sweet story!

It looks like Seekerville authors took charge of Family Fiction this month. Way to go ladies!

    Congrats to all the winners.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

  4. Great Weekend!! Congratulations to all the winners! Loving all the Christmas pics. I would love to get a dictionary for Christmas. A huge one. That would be the perfect gift. But then I'm crazy lol. Anything to hold and flip through.

Congratulations, Tina! I will be looking for that magazine. I loved your post yesterday of the secret life of a inspirational romance writer.

I'm clicking the link for the Romancing the Smokies facebook page and it's not working for me. Knoxville's not that far from me!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!

Would love, love, love to have you join me for Romancing the Smokies. Donna Wright sponsored a great event last year so folks in her area of TN could mix and mingle with authors. It was so successful that she's planning to make it an annual event.

  5. Happy first-weekend-of-December, Seekerville!

Hope all who participated in November's "NaNo" survived! I'm starting my own personal NaNo for DECEMBER with a book deadline looming!

BETTIE -- we had a pretty fall here in northern Arizona, too--then all of a sudden it's lows in the single digits and highs in the upper 20s. 5 inches of snow. Wind chill is currently NINE. Brrr.

Hi, JILL! Isn't Tina amazing with those WW stories? They're a hard place to break in to but Tina's one of their favorites now!

JACKIE--I'm definitely going to be on the hunt for this week's WW, too. That's an especially fun magazine around the holidays, isn't it? "First" is a fun one, too.

SALLY -- I use the Webster's sitting on my desk bookshelf regularly. Faster than having to open one on-line for me!

Hope you all have a fabulous writing weekend--and holiday prep fun!

  7. I loved revisiting Tina's Secret Life post and the picture that goes with it is PERFECT, makes me smile every time I look at it! I always want to reply on archive day because they are some of the best articles.

Congrats to all the winners this week! I've been reading along while lurking in the background. I had a crazy muscle pull that has kept me in a chair for 10 days! I don't have 10 days at Christmas to be sitting, but as it has been slowly improving I'm thanking God for the ability to walk with less pain. Injuries sure do give a person a renewed compassion for others who may have health issues.

I hope I can still find a copy of WW magazine on the stands. Congrats on all those stories Tina! (Does anyone else subconsciously want to add the 2 after WW, lol?)

    Happy weekending everyone!

    1. Tracey -- that must be a mega-muscle pull to do that much damage to your mobility. :( Praying for a quick recovery.

    2. Thanks for the prayers Glynna, I appreciate any and all offered. It was a mega-pull alright, I've never had anything like it, but have seen my chiropractor and massage therapist, used hot and cold compresses, epsom salt baths and pain reliever I was already taking for bad knee. Read an article on K-Laser therapy this morning and think I'll try that next, it's suppose to promote deep tissue healing.

    3. I am so praying for your healing, Tracey. That's not fun. I actually address this in my blog post on Monday.

    4. Thanks Tina, much appreciated. I'm not one to sit all day so it's been hard in more ways than one.
I'm so grateful to God to improve a little each day, I'm actually happy to be able to do some housework that has been STARING at me, lol.
      Looking forward to Monday's post!

  8. Congratulations to the winners, and winners of May the K9 Spy goodies especially. ;) Yay for WILANI, CINDY W and CARYL. Woot woot!

Excited to get those sent out this next week. Merry Christmas everypawdy!!

SALLY ~ where ARE you I wonder (or should I know already?) Would be fun to carpool over and meet Debby and others. We're about 1-1/2 hrs west of Knoxville.

Cass & I are heading off tomorrow for a school visit in GA on Monday. Excited to be teaching 3-5 grades more about point of view and introducing them to May's stories of hope and opportunity.

On another note: still trusting God's faithfulness and mercy. There's no sign of our beloved dog, Anna, yet. She went missing the day after Thanksgiving. Appreciate paws and hands together for her. We're trusting God's plan and resting in this. (But we'd love to have her home if that's in His will.)

Have a wonderful weekend everyone. Thanks for the articles, Tina. Already read a few!

  12. Good morning, Seekerville! Trying to concentrate on emails, social media, & reading Seekerville is a little harder--wait, make that a LOT harder--with my 5-year-old and almost-3-year-old granddaughters having Saturday-morning fun! Let's just say that life has gotten very . . . . interesting over the past month with our daughter and family moving in with us temporarily. Plus I'm feeling thick-headed with a cold we've been passing around the house. Not much writing got done this week!

Always enjoy checking out the informative writerly links, TINA--thank you!

  13. Happy Saturday to you all! I shall endeavor to get my chores all done early so that I can focus on writing, but I will most likely, probably, definitly assuredly become distracted along the way which is often the case for me on most Saturdays. There just aren't enough hours in my one free* day- unless you count Sunday, but I'm at church for half the day then.

  19. POINT OF ORDER: And a conundrum. What's the general time frame for reviewing a Love Inspired book? I'm ramping up my reviewing schedule and I want to do right by these authors, especially when I get a free book, but I can't always get to it within the month, before they are taken off the shelves for the new crop. DOES IT MAKE SENSE to review LI, LIH and LIS? Can they still be ordered on Amazon? I know some of the authors have backlists. Love to hear from someone on this.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Good morning, Kathy! While it's always extra sweet to have some positive reviews out the month a book first hits the shelves to give them an added boost, reviews are ALWAYS welcome whenever the reviewer has time to get around to reading and reviewing.

Unlike in the pre on-line store "olden days," Love Inspired books are available for months or even a year on-line (long after they are off the store shelves) and they're pretty much available "forever" on Kindle and Nook.

So there's no real "time limit" for when a positive review helps an author. Readers often go looking for backlists or to try new LI authors and will read the reviews.

On behalf of authors everywhere, thank you for taking the time to review, Kathy!

      Delete
    2. Well said, Glynna. And my thanks Kathy also. We really appreciate reviewers because we know how much extra time it takes. Thanks again.

THANK YOU, SEEKERVILLE, for the wonderful critique opportunity. Squeeee! So appreciated! A question: Would you like just the first 15 ms pgs, or may we include a one-pg synopsis with our ms, as with Genesis? As long as it doesn't exceed the 15? *limbers fingers*

The only hint I will give you is that it's not a book. It's something so perfect for the occasion that I couldn't believe what I'd found. RUTHY- I love eggnog. I also love a good cup of cocoa and up until recently had no idea how easy and inexpensive it was to make my own. I put the powdered mix, mini chocolate chips, mini marshmallows and candy cane "stir sticks" in mason jars for a hot cocoa bar. The kids love it.

Here's to cozy nights by the tree surrounded by the ones we love. May we relish each moment during this often hectic season.
