Seekerville Weekend Edition Part 2

Today's weekend edition issue is all about contests and writing opportunities, because there is so much going on out there we can't wait for the next Seekerville Contest Update--which is scheduled for March 6.

Congratulations to Debby Giusti, Countdown to Death received the 2008 CataRomance Reviewers' Choice Award.

"CataNetwork reviewers are honored to announce the prestigious Reviewers’ Choice Awards for the year 2008. Of the hundreds of outstanding books that we review each year, it is hard to narrow it down to just a few and there is much agonizing over each decision. We believe each author should receive an award for the creative work they put in to their books."

Short Story News From Publisher's Weekly:

Harper Perennial Tests Content Giveaway

By Lynn Andrinai -- Publishers Weekly, 2/19/2009 2:37:00 PM

With six new short story collections on its summer and fall lists, Harper Perennial has decided to celebrate the form. Its 2009: Summer of the Short Story campaign will officially launch in May, but it got an early—albeit quiet—start in January with a new blog, Fifty-Two Stories. The house announced yesterday that each week in 2009 it is posting a new short story. Some are new stories from Harper Perennial’s original collections or from upcoming hardcovers; some are original contributions never before published anywhere; and some are backlist classics. The publisher is also accepting submissions for new stories from readers, professional or amateur, published or not.

Finally, thanks to Patty Wysong for coming up with the idea for this post.

  1. Boy-oh-boy! March is gonna be a great month here!! I have the 20th marked on my calendar--but I'm pretty sure the credit for that phrase goes to someone else.
