  3. My favorite romantic song isn't even strictly romantic - "Little Wonders" by Rob Thomas. I'd love to dance to this at my wedding. Runners-up are "Hanging by a Moment" (Lifehouse) and "Do You Dream of Me?" (Michael W. Smith). Can you tell I love songs that celebrate small, everyday moments?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Im not really sure what my favourite love song is.
    Lady in red is good.

    Hugs, Janet

  9. JANET ... One can NEVER use up their quota of exclamation points ... especially if one happens to be a caffeinated drama queen ...

TINA ... LOVE the list. Have to add "How Deep is Your Love" by the Bee Gees from Saturday Night Fever because Keith and I were engaged at the time and it brings back SO many wonderful memories ... of me finally landing a guy, for one thing! :)

Awwww ... Keith just brought me cinnamon toast he made himself!!! What a guy!! Like I always say ... and he always agrees ... I don't deserve him.

    Hugs,
    Julie

  10. My favorite romantic song is "How Do I Live Without You" by Trisha Yearwood.

Help yourself to the box of chocolates I set on the table. Think twenty pounds is enough? And, no, it wasn't me who took all the coconut filled bon bon's out, my chipmunk cheeks are natural!

Happy Valentine's. I hope it's a sweet day for all of Seekerville.

  11. I have to vote for Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton.

I just typed the reason why that's my favorite song and decided I better delete it! LOL! Let's just say, it conjures up a VERY happy memory.

Looking forward to the lineup for the next two months or so!

    Just listen to it:

So much great stuff coming up in Seekerville next week. Can't wait.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Oh, Vince--I second your vote for Dolly's song. And no one can sing it like she can. :)

    ReplyDelete
  16. Andrea Bocelli! I would like to add Andrea Bocelli singing "Sogno", "Romanza", and Time to Say Goodbye with Sarah Brightman. YUM!!! I don't know what he's saying, since he sings in Italian, but who cares! It's very heart-stirring!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Melanie I think I have all the Andrea Bocelli CDs out there. I love his version of Bessame Mucho "More kisses"

    sigh.

Tina, thank you for reminding me of Savage Garden's Truly Madly Deeply.

    ReplyDelete

To Be With You: David Archuleta

    Somebody Out THere: David Archuleta

My husband just gave me dark chocolate. My favorite!!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Hannah,

adding your momma to my prayer list.

Flat seven up or ginger ale. Sip don't drink it. No milk products.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Michael Buble music, dark chocolate, a bubble bath, and a good book...
    Whew, sounding good to me.

Anyone want to come watch my stomach-virus ridden children? ;-)
    "isn't it romantic..."

    ReplyDelete
  27. Debra and Missy:

My apologies for scrambline your brains.

How about the old Elvis number "Love Me Tender."

    Helen

    ReplyDelete
  28. Hi Tina:

    PLEASE NOTE:

The song is in Italian but you don’t have to understand Italian to ‘get it’.

The mistress calls the husband's home at night and he answers: “Good Evening, Doctor.” And she says “Is the you?” And he says “Mi Dica”, “It’s me speaking”.

She says “Is she there in the room?”. He says “yes, that is correct”. She tells him she is in bed and needs him and is wearing that something special he bought her and can’t he somehow get out of the house and stay with her?

Just the tone of voice is enough.

The thing is the Italians loved this song. Many singers covered the song. There are many comedy skits using the lyrics. There is one skit with Sophia Loren doing the cheating and even one with the Pope. Italians are really interesting people.

I think America is ready for this song. I wonder if John Edwards can sing?

  29. Okay, I have to say, when it comes to love songs, I'm very old school.

Return to Me - Dean Martin
La Vie En Rose - Edith Piaf
The Very Thought of You - Billie Holiday
You Don't Know Me - Ray Charles
Can't Help Falling In Love w/You - Elvis Prestley
Moonlight Serenade - Glenn Miller (probably the most romantic music I've ever heard in my life!)

And in honor of my Hubby, just about any song by George Strait (he's a huge fan)

    ReplyDelete
  30. I used "Do You Dream Of Me" (Michael W. Smith) in Waiting Out the Storm...

She couldn't get the hero's face, hands out of her head while the song played, and that was while scrubbing bathrooms...

    Pretty powerful stuff!!! :)

Love Lady in Red... And Total Eclipse of the Heart...Bonnie Tyler

AND... Remember When/Alan Jackson but that's for us old fogies.

Twenty pound box of chocolates. Trish is my new BFF...

    After Melissa, of course.

    I love Dolly...

Vince, go wash your mouth out with Irish Spring (voted worst-tasting soap by my children in years past) because that's just sooooo naughty.

And Moonlight Serenade... Oh, I love Glenn Miller.

And George Strait... Just his delightful romance with his wife is enough to make me all gushy.

    I'm a sap.

    Lovely post, Teenster. Just lovely.

    ReplyDelete
  31. BTW, Vince, did I mention that I am Italian?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Wow Melly, pretty hot stuff!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. You guys are probably imagining all kinds of things about me!!! But it's totally innocent, I assure you. Just a guy that I had a HUGE crush on playing and singing that song (on a church retreat, no less!)

Elvis had a lot of great love songs. I think Can't Help Falling in Love with You is my favorite.

    ReplyDelete
  34. oh my. Love the list of tunes.

    My all time favorite is
Feels So Right by Alabama. I just melt thinking of it let alone hearing it.

A funny. My dh and I were "never going to marry" when we met so our theme song was "We'll sing in the Sunshine" by Gale Garnett. LOL

The lyrics say "we'll sing in the sunshine and when a year is ended we'll be on our way" HA! 43 years later LOL we're still singing.

    HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY EVERYONE

  35. Hi Tina:

I lived in Italy for three years and I love Italians!

My first basketball coach was an Italian named Russo. This was in Morristown, N. J.

    I think it’s great to be Italian…if you can’t be Irish. : )

    Vince

    ReplyDelete
  36. Haaaa!! Vince! You and Ruthy!

    Couple of characters.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hi Ruth:

I always had the choice between Irish Spring or a novena.

Poor Claudia Mori is just a three Hail Mary offense. For a novena you need to go to the greatest love song of all. Of course, it’s French.

This song was so romantic that it even hit the charts in the USA…in French. Moi ’lanta!

It’s about love, deep passionate love, sung with feeling. It gives ‘telling’ a whole new meaning. : )

I’m talking about: “Je t'aime…moi non plus” by Jane Birkin.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2C98G-9rJk

Note: Your ears need to be eighteen years old to listen to this even in French. The Visual is GP.

    Enjoy!

    Vince

  38. Wow! My fave song hmmm I have lots! Hehe! I'll just put a couple I like A Moment Like this by Kelly Clarkson and From This Moment.
I Don't Know what It is about the moments:)
And My favorite sad ones Would be This is Just A Dream by Carrie Underwood and The Heart Does Go On by Celine Dion!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Hi Tina,
Happy Valentine's Day to you and Tom! Thanks for always doing such a great job with the weekend edition!!!

Love all the songs you chose!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Awesome line up, ladies! Thanks so much for all your wonderful articles.
I like the When You Say Nothing At All song but with the lady singer and the guy. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  41. The lady singer and the guy? But Keith wrote the song. I need more hints, Jessica.

Happy Valentine's Day from SNOWY Denver.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Alison Kraus did a remake of the song in the 90's.

    Is that who Jessica meant?

    ReplyDelete
  43. When You Say Nothing At All...

Keith Whitley wrote and performed before his death...

    Allison Krauss and Union Station...

Great version as well. I love both.

Add them to my list, too, 'kay?

    :)

    ReplyDelete
  44. And Vince...

I'm going to say one thing and one thing only...

Your Wife Is One Lucky Woman...

    ;)

    ReplyDelete
  45. Unchained Melody...
    that's our song...

    Enjoying all this romance!!

(and agreed, one can NEVER run over quota on exclamation points!!!!)

Have a lovely one. My sweetie is long distance today but we celebrated last weekend just fine, thank you.

Next week looks good. Always a treat to stop by Seekerville!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Happy Valentine’s Day
    to Everyone!

    Where’s Mary?

Mary knows more song titles than anyone I’ve ever heard of.

How about the top funny love songs? My choice:

“If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body, Would You Hold it Against Me?”

(Extra Credit: Anyone know who did this song?)

Ruth: Maybe that’s why I got such a good wife. There’s never been a day that I don’t thank the Lord that she said ‘yes’ to my proposal. After 33 years of looking for the right woman, it would have been devastating to have her say ‘no’. Talk about a black moment – ouch!

Ruth: you’re an inspiration every day. I’d say anyone is lucky to enjoy your wit and wisdom. I always look forward to what Ruth has to say on any topic.

This is too much fun. Again:

    Happy Valentine’s Day.

    Vince

    ReplyDelete
  47. Vince, Mary is in Texas doing a book signing. See the Seeker Sightings note.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Aw, Vince...

    I'm all ver klempt. :)

And MOST days Dave is quite happy...

Like the other day when I loaded 4 face cords of firewood for my son-in-law to deliver because Dave's back/hip fired up their internal warning signals. Poor guy. And then he caught my cold...

Can we say 'awww' again? :)

But I got flowers I love and Ghirardelli my scale says I DO NOT NEED but it's a lovely, lovely treat after 36 years of seeing the before-blow-dryer, face cream and contacts Ruthy edition.

    It's a frightening thought.

    Truly.

Not as bad as Janet without make-up (no one, I repeat NO ONE has seen Janet without make-up, like... ever... according to HER)

but I suspect that her gorgeous smile and teasing grin would be just fine without a hint of Estee Lauder.

In my humblest of humble opinions.

KC... You're adorable and I expect you and the boy had a lovely send-off...

But a good welcome home is never a bad thing, either.

    :)

And today, we're taking Libby, the Standard Poodle for her first ever professional spa day.

    www.hearthsidekennels.com

Click on Libby's page to see before pics...

This is because despite the investment in very pricey dog clippers, RUTHY IS NO GROOMER.

Oh my stars, when will I learn I CAN'T do it all???

Do not even ask how funny she's looked. We'll see if the pros at Pet Smart can help.

If they don't burst into tears and run screaming first.

    Oh mylanta.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Ruthy,
Just ordered Winter's End.Woohoo, and I can't wait to read that 4 1/2 stars book.
    Woohoo!
I read the excerpt on Harlequin and it's so moving, poignant, with just enough sass to nudge a grin. Oh yes, I love to watch hearts melt.
and btw, talking about melting, if I read Winter's End, does it mean winter might come to an end at somepoint.

    ReplyDelete
  50. My favorite love song is "Bless the Broken Road" by a Christian group Selah, but the original group, Rascal Flatts does a pretty good job too. :)

    ReplyDelete
  51. It's hard to choose just one - but I think - As Time Goes By - is my all-time favorite!

    edwina.cowgill@yahoo.com

    ReplyDelete
  52. Any chance I can "make my own contest" and get a free book because my birthday is on Valentines Day :) Just thought I'd give it a shot since it's such a romantic day :)

    ReplyDelete
  53. I like the Faith Hill song, but I think probably my top romantic songs are either John Turner's "Will You Go With Me" (love the lyrics and his deep voice on that one) and Tomi Swick's "Night Like This" (my hubby and I danced to that one at our wedding). Things look busy around here for this week!!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  54. How I love a good love song!

Come What May from Moulin Rouge... Awesome!

Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers... was the song hubby and I danced to at our wedding. Ahhh...

And I'm digging the new Michael Buble song, I Just Haven't Met You Yet. That's a song of great faith!

    Rock on, ladies :+}

    ReplyDelete
  55. How's about God Must Have Spent A Little More Time on You by NSync and I Can Love You Like That by All 4 One! :-P

    Happy Valentine's Day!

    XOXO~ Renee

    ReplyDelete
  56. Oh yeah if any guy played Michael Buble or Josh Groban for me I'd melt clean away! :-P

    XOXO~ Renee

    ReplyDelete
  57. Name just ONE favorite romantic song? Nope, not possible for me :) LOL. I listen to a wide variety of music. Josh Groban, Michael Buble, Rascal Flatts... I could go on forever :)

However, my top two songs at the moment are I Just Haven't Met You Yet and Endless Love.

    Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Whoops, that would be Haven't Met You Yet ;)

    ReplyDelete
  59. Love Michael Buble, Just Haven't Met You Yet!!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Who knew there were so many great songs from so many different venues?

I'm tripping down memory lane with each and every comment.

    Super wonderful.

I remember Dave had Wonderful Tonight dedicated to me at a wedding... It had been a crazy day, I had done the wedding cake, and then the Wonder Woman quick change from baker to femme fatale (gag) in the somewhat cramped ladies' room...

I didn't exactly 'feel' on top of my game, but it wasn't MY wedding, so it was fine...

    And when he did that...

    unprovoked, even...

it just felt wonderful. Marvelous. Sweet.

Of course that was YEARS AGO... ;)

    ReplyDelete
  61. So guess what I read online. Michael Buble is engaged to marry the gal who stars in is music video, I Just Haven't Met You Yet.

    ReplyDelete
  62. My favorite love song is "Right Here Waiting" by Richard Marx.

Forget the prize. I want the hat.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I was going to mention a Kiss song that's really good, but then I decided to hold back.

However, I did not hold back at the store. I picked up Debby's and Janet's latests books, as well as reserved a spot for the day Ruthy's comes out.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Too many songs to choose from. One of my favorites is "Everlasting Love" by Howard Jones. It was the theme for our wedding slide show.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I like Kiss, Walt. We share makeup tricks all the time.

Hey Cynthia, I own Howard Jones' Greatest Hits. Love him!!

    ReplyDelete
  66. i like 'valentine' by martina mcbride

    karenk
    kmkuka(at)yahoo(dot)com

    ReplyDelete
  67. I was not a big Elvis fan, but I think "Love Me Tender" is the most romantic song ever.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I'm an old-school R&B type gal, so I think of songs by Peabo Bryson, like "I'm So Into You".

Woo-hoo! Thanks for the book. Looking forward to reading The Pastor's Wife.
