My favorite romantic song isn't even strictly romantic - "Little Wonders" by Rob Thomas. I'd love to dance to this at my wedding. Runners-up are "Hanging by a Moment" (Lifehouse) and "Do You Dream of Me?" (Michael W. Smith). Can you tell I love songs that celebrate small, everyday moments?

The song is in Italian but you don’t have to understand Italian to ‘get it’.
The mistress calls the husband's home at night and he answers: “Good Evening, Doctor.” And she says “Is the you?” And he says “Mi Dica”, “It’s me speaking”.
She says “Is she there in the room?”. He says “yes, that is correct”. She tells him she is in bed and needs him and is wearing that something special he bought her and can’t he somehow get out of the house and stay with her?
Just the tone of voice is enough.
The thing is the Italians loved this song. Many singers covered the song. There are many comedy skits using the lyrics. There is one skit with Sophia Loren doing the cheating and even one with the Pope. Italians are really interesting people.
I think America is ready for this song. I wonder if John Edwards can sing?

I read the excerpt on Harlequin and it's so moving, poignant, with just enough sass to nudge a grin. Oh yes, I love to watch hearts melt.

ReplyDeleteI like the Faith Hill song, but I think probably my top romantic songs are either John Turner's "Will You Go With Me" (love the lyrics and his deep voice on that one) and Tomi Swick's "Night Like This" (my hubby and I danced to that one at our wedding). Name just ONE favorite romantic song? Nope, not possible for me :) LOL. I listen to a wide variety of music. Josh Groban, Michael Buble, Rascal Flatts... I could go on forever :)

I remember Dave had Wonderful Tonight dedicated to me at a wedding... It had been a crazy day, I had done the wedding cake, and then the Wonder Woman quick change from baker to femme fatale (gag) in the somewhat cramped ladies' room...
I didn't exactly 'feel' on top of my game, but it wasn't MY wedding, so it was fine...
And when he did that...
unprovoked, even...
it just felt wonderful. Marvelous. Sweet.
Of course that was YEARS AGO... ;)
So guess what I read online. Michael Buble is engaged to marry the gal who stars in is music video, I Just Haven't Met You Yet.

I was going to mention a Kiss song that's really good, but then I decided to hold back.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I did not hold back at the store. I picked up Debby's and Janet's latests books, as well as reserved a spot for the day Ruthy's comes out.
Too many songs to choose from. One of my favorites is "Everlasting Love" by Howard Jones. It was the theme for our wedding slide show.

I was not a big Elvis fan, but I think "Love Me Tender" is the most romantic song ever.
