  3. TEENSTER!!! You are definitely the hostess with the mostest, girl -- what a bash we have coming!!!

And thank you, my dear, sweet friend, for posting my WE notices even though I failed to send them to you ... as my 92-year-old teacher aunt would say to me, "demerits!" What would we do if we didn't have you to cover our butts, Mom???

Can't wait for the party to begin!!!!!!

And, Kav honey, there ain't NOTHING wrong with exclamation points, girl, especially when talking Seekerville par-tee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hugs,
    Julie

  4. Morning Seekerville,

It looks like a great week coming up.

    And a great month.

We ARE ready to party because you all have been so much fun.

There's a snack table of party food to nibble on this weekend. Chips and salsa, assorted nuts, platters of veggie, cheese and assorted lunch meats. Pretzels, trail mix, and of course bowls of Dove singles, M&M's, Ghirardelli individual squares.

  5. SPECTACULAR!!!!

That is the only way to describe Seekerville's Birthday Bash. You ladies know how to throw an island party.

    Congratulations to this weeks winners.

    ReplyDelete
  6. And in honor of the festivities, I finally got off my keyster and purchased Ruthy's and Camy's new books.

  9. Happy Weekend everyone!

So much information to take in. And not to mention a party to get ready for!

Is Ruthy cooking - or will it be a catered event? I think she has a few connections!

So excited to see I won one of James Scott Bell's books that I don't have! What a great start to a weekend!

Must go a clean the house for company tonight.

    Have a good one!

    Sue
PS. Just started "A Hope Undaunted" and had to force myself to put it down. It's so good I want to stretch it out!

  11. Oh, honey, I can blow up balloons because we KNOW God gifted me with hot air.

    Yay God!!! ;)

Leave that pile of balloons to me, dahlink! I'll get right on it.

Love this WE, LOVE that we're celebrating our THIRD BIRTHDAY this October and love the friendships we've built.

Okay, pumpkin pie tarts are coming your way, chilled and topped with your choice of vanilla ice cream OR whipped cream, real HEAVY CREAM whipped cream, home-made.

Nothing but the best and highest of calories for a Ruthy-pie.

    YUM.

Tina, awesome WE. I'm so psyched. Totally. Wonderfully. Marvelously.

    Way too many adverbs abounding.

Picking out party hats as we speak...

    ReplyDelete
  12. Nice keyster (keester???), Walt-baby.

    ;)

    ReplyDelete
  13. I will be doing some cooking and baking, Rosie-kins, but we're also throwing in a few catered events as befitting a party of this magnatude.

    Imagine Polynesian seafood.

    Texas steak.

    Weeziana barbecue.

    Aussie shrimp on the bobbie.

    Amazing fare.

    Come hungry.

(Just fyi: there will be no Ruthy roosters on the menu.)

  14. Tried to post a couple of times today, and my posts go into a black hole.

In the meantime, I've been stringing up hammocks for all our guests!

    ReplyDelete
  15. I'm preparing the punch. Yum - very fruity if I say so myself, with a little bit of pineapple twang.
And I've decided all the glasses need little umbrellas with the Seekerville logo on them. Is that okay?

Can we have grass skirts too?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Walt and Vince will not look their best in grass skirts..but I can give you a blanket okay on the little umbrellas.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Pam, refrain from stringing up our guests.

    ReplyDelete
  18. If Chip McGregor can wear a kilt to the ACFW banquet, don't you think Walt and Vince can wear a grass skirt to the Seekerville bash? ;-)
Come on now, guys. Aren't you game?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Grin ... I'm with you, PEP ... I think Walt and Vince would look STUNNING in their grass skirts ... or should we say grass "kilts"??

SUE, bless you for reading AHU and THANK YOU for stretching it out!! I think Gina Welborn read it in ... I want to say under four hours, but it may be less. I remember being SHOCKED that anyone could read that fast when she told me. She said she liked it, but maybe she skimmed ... who knows???

Anyway, I like it when people take it slow because it took me a long time to write it, so I hate to think of it being over in such a short time, you know???

    Hugs,
    Julie

    ReplyDelete
  20. Jules,
If you want us to read it slowly, then you shouldn't put so much wonderful conflict in it. Or make it so interesting adn passionate.
Or create tension so tight that a reader will forgo cooking dinner for her CHILDREN or go without sleep to finish the book.

I really blame you for it ;-)

  21. I'm thrilled to be the winner of the Wednesday draw. Thanks heaps, and congrats to all the other winners.

I was standing by the snack table munching on the trail mix and thinking of the upcoming Birthday party when someone tapped me on the shoulder to say that the sooner I send off my mailing info, the sooner I'll be able to dive into Glynna's "Dreaming of Home", so I'll get right on it.

::grabbing a handful of trail mix to take with me::

    ReplyDelete
  22. Carol you as so cute. You must be a writer. As I read that I imagined you thoughtfully munching on a handful of peanuts and M&M's nodding.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Tina said: Pam, refrain from stringing up our guests.

    What?

You didn't tell them that we're cannibals???

    Oops

    ReplyDelete
  24. As long as Carol shares the M&Ms from the trail mix, it's all good.

And I like guests strung up. Makes the fire easier to start.

Of course we can light the fire with Julie's latest A Hope Undaunted....

Whoa. Baby. Get the fire extinguisher handy.

Pepper, can you bring some spice to the party??? Hahahahahahahaha.

    Get it??

    Pepper????

I called Bruno and he said Vince and Walt can borrow grass shorts from him.

Note to Vince and Walt: SAY NO.

Okay, working on the final list of wonderful desserts and caterers.

We're talking serious food. Fun. Fanciful. Beef.

I love beef. Where's a Texan when you need one?

I made fresh coffee and I've got the Keurig (love it!!!) plugged in for those who want to pick-your-own flavored coffees.

Creamers. Sugar. Sunday continental breakfast of waffles, bagels, muffins, fruit and yogurt.

Relax. Sit back. Write. Talk. Enjoy.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Ruthy,
HA! Never heard that one before!
    ;-)
I knew something was coming because you called me 'Pepper" instead of 'Pep' or the Pepster.
Always gets my ears perked when you say my full name.

You mean I need more sweet spice than my personality will already provide? ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Happy Almost Birthday Seekerville! I'm looking forward to next week's posts. :-) And congrats to all the winners this week.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oooooh, Seekers!! Looking forward to the big party and congrats on three wonderful years together! Can't wait to visit during your month-long celebration -- whoo-hoo!!!!!!!! -- and I'll let people know about it on my blog, too, next week ;). xo

    ReplyDelete
  28. Thanks, M.

And I did mention the wonderful new Austen site in last weekend's WE ed. I am loving it.

  29. Happy Birthday Seekerville, 3 years old. Wow. Enjoyed hanging with you. Learned so much and found a few friends. Alot has happened and there's much more to come. Party On.

  30. Three years? Gosh, time does fly! I'm looking forward to celebrating all of October with you.

BTW, your ad is gorgeous. Seeing all the Seekers' upcoming releases at the bottom is exciting and inspiring. Wishing you all many more birthdays . . . and releases!

  31. As to the question of grass skirts:

    Newton’s 4th Law

"The desirability of grass skirts is directly proportional to the availability of Pina Coladas and inversely proportional to the number of goats on the island."

Modesty is no problem. As my mother says: “You see more in a bathing suit.” No gender problem either: Have you seen those 300-pound Hawaiian Warriors in their grass skirts?

My mind is open on the issue.

    Congrats Everyone!

    Vince

    ReplyDelete
  32. Vince, you are a hoot.

I always wondered about the 4th Law.

    Anne, thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Tina!
Ruthy sent balloons and I'm blowing them up. Raking sand as well. Hanging little lights for the evening festivities in October! Can't wait for the Birthday Bash to begin!!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I fear that I will sleep fitfully tonight haunted by visions of a three hundred pound man in a grass skirt, with goats nibbling every closer to...immodesty.

Perhaps, for one night only, a mild sedative would be wise.

    ReplyDelete
  35. PARRRR-TEEEEE!!!

    Congrats to all winners.

    ReplyDelete
  36. LOL, Mary
Now I won't be able to go to sleep because I'll be laughing so hard.
