ReplyDeleteI'm about ready for bed, but am leaving some coffee and leftover turkey dinner with fixins on the table over there. I also have a few chocolate cookies left as well as some of Jesus' birthday cake :).
Looking forward to Seekerville this week - I've got the first two of Sophie's Daughters books sitting here [my sister's] waiting to be read. Will have to get on that so that once she finishes Sharpshooter, I can snag it from her ;).
Anyone going shopping today? All I need is sprinkles for cookies. We have a bunch of Valentine's Day, Easter, Halloween and even Thanksgiving but somehow I'm completely out of Christmas-y ones... :p
Oh, and there's your favorite cup of coffee waiting for you from Mary Poppin's Practically Perfect Percolator. And if you don't like coffee, there's Dr. Pepper IV drips or, if you can't be stuck to an IV pole all day, there's patches for you =D.

Today was quiet. Just hubby, me and oldest son.
Our youngest had to work Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We're heading to his place Tuesday. Daughter and SIL will meet us there.

ReplyDeleteboy I haven't had fudge in FOREVER(I normally hit the pies and brownies) but my aunt had slim pickings on the dessert table(partly thanks to one uncle divorcing the aunt who could bake and marrying one who doesn't!)so I decidedt try her fudge and I'd forgotten how rich that stuff is! Felt like it got bigger with every bite!
One of these days I'm gonna have to learn how to bake - anything but a cake mix scares me.

I have LOVED having this White Christmas. Absolutely beautiful. Nothing compared to what you guys get out west or up north, but it sure is pretty.

Ok this is a South Australian thing but if a public holiday falls on a weekend we have the holiday on a monday so I guess its Christmas again!!!!! the irony is people working Christmas get weekend pay if they work to day they get double time. We also have boxing day in all states but mine and tomorrow is Proclamation day the day we became a state so we have a public holiday tomorrow too. In other years we will celebrate proclamation day on the day after Christmas. So no shops but the supermarkets are open here and a few small stores in some areas. I do enjoy the time from Christmas to New Year to chill out but this may be the last year I hope to have a job by the end of 2011.
ReplyDeleteJenny, I guess we're kinda flexible here in the states. If the holiday falls on Saturday, we take Friday. If it falls on Sunday, we take Monday, at least where I work.
ReplyDeleteThis year, they closed Thursday and Friday and I took a vacation day on Wednesday.
A 5 day holiday!!! It was wonderful!
Got to go back tomorrow, but for only 3 days. We're closed again on Friday, and I'm taking my last vacation day on Thursday, so it'll be a 4 day holiday.
Yay!!!

My heart leaped or is that leapt? with joy when I saw I'm a winner of Rocky Mountain Hero. Omigosh. That's too cool. And I have to be careful about leaping heart because it's quite saturated in fats, sugars and salts right now. I'm hoping to end the madness today but I have one more piece of Dutch Apple pie left and I'll give away the rest of the shortbread today. Phew.
