  7. Nice WE, Tina.
Glad to share as pot of tea with you this morning :-)

Cinnamon rolls coming out of the oven. It's a Sunday morning tradition around here :-)

Quick question - How on earth did Hannah get Ruthy to respond to her emails? Seriously? On her blogfest?
Hannah, what did you use for bribery.
    Chocolate? Free labor? What?

  8. Great WE - great stuff there. (and yeah, I'm STOKED to get my five-page critique)

I'll have some tea AND cinnamon rolls. Thanks :)

  9. I don't have a Kindle or a Nook yet (but will acquire one in the next 30 days). However, how about coffee and a piece of cherry dump cake along with reading it.

Looks like another exciting week in Seekerville.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Walt!!! Where ya been dude?

I forgot about dump cake. Haven't made that in a long time. Long equally years greater than ten.

Pepper, Hannah must have dangled a baby in front of Ruth. The only thing she likes more than M & Ms is babies.

  12. Okay that should say long EQUALS...this is what happens if I post before the Keurig warms up.

    ReplyDelete
  13. My feet are FREEZING thank you very much. I live in a very old and drafty and rickety weensie little house and every room has a wind chill factor. :-) So to warm myself I am having tea. Lovely cranberry and apple in an infuser cup no less. It's divine. And I am totally in love with that Dunk Mug. How ingenious is that???? I have to run to England to get one. :-)

  18. Dump Cake Recipe

    Ingredients:
•1 (20 ounces) can crushed pineapple, undrained
•1 (21 ounces) can prepared more fruit cherry pie filling
•1 (18.25 ounces) box yellow cake mix
•2 sticks of butter or margarine, each cut into 12 slices
•1/4 cup chopped nuts (your choice - optional)
    Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (325 for glass baking dish). Have a 9 by 13-inch baking pan ready.

Dump undrained pineapple baking dish or pan and spread it out evenly.

Using a spoon, dump globs of cherry pie filling evenly on top of the pineapple.

Sprinkle the cake mix evenly over the cherry and pineapple layers.

Cut butter into slices with a butter knife and place slices evenly over cake mix.

Sprinkle nuts on top if you're using them.

Bake for one hour. Use heavy oven mitts to remove the dump cake from oven or let your older helper do it.

To serve, scoop cake out with a large spoon like a cobbler, and dump it on a nice plate. A scoop of vanilla ice cream is delicious with dump cake. Serve warm or cold.

Yield: about 10 to 12 servings

'Tis the season for signing contracts! YAY SEEKERS!!!!

    YAY for debut novels!!!

If y'all want to know what to get me for Christmas... Dominic Skinner Dunk Mug looks like just the ticket. ;D

Happy day Seekerville! Thanks Tina - always an edition to look forward to... or... to which to look forward... or something...

    ReplyDelete
  20. Wow congrats Camy and Cara on your contracts, that's awesome!

It seems like it's going to be another busy week in Seekerville I can't wait. Are we going to going for another comments record on Seekerville this Monday? LOL I'm kidding Mary you know I promised you i was buying a copy. :-P

    Merry Christmas everyone!

    XOXO~ Renee

  21. Hi everyone. Great weekend edition, Teenee. I can only hope and PRAY my blog post on Monday begins to be as exciting as you make it sound in this post.

I must STRIVE to live up to the HYPE.

  22. OU won their stinking game, Vince. Against the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

    Do
    You
    Want
    To
    Make
    Something
    Of
    It?????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Auburn won, too, as did Oregon over Oregon St. So Auburn and Oregon meet for the BCS National Championship game.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Kav, I live in a drafty old house, too.

Why do they make that sound charming in romance novels. It SUCKS.

I have on a fleecy sweater, slipper sox and am drinking Tetley's Earl Grey tea...and this is just to STAY ALIVE....forget COMFORT.

My husband isn't watching. I'm going to sneak and turn the thermostat up. I've learned it's better to ask forgiveness than permission.

His parents grew up in the depression.

So did mine, but I GOT OVER IT!!!

  24. Let's talk stats.

We aren't big on them in Seekerville. We realized a long time ago that Followers is just a little widget. We have far more lurkers than followers. Which frankly is much less scary for us since WE DO RUN WITH SCISSORS AROUND HERE.

But we also noticed that we had 17 THOUSAND visitors in the last 30 days.

So we are gearing up for a visit by either Oprah or the Pope soon.

Consider this a warning. Make sure you take out the hair rollers and put on your best robe from now on when you visit us. We're in the big time now.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Oh hey just so you know I was at Hannah's blog, Project Journal as a guest on Thursday for her Christmas celebration! It's so much fun there!

    XOXO~ Renee

    ReplyDelete
  26. I know I stopped by and forgot to comment. Just went back and fixed that omission.

I didn't tell you I had a Barbie Dream house, I didn't want you to cry.

    ReplyDelete
  27. LOL, Tina and Renee,
That's what I put on my interview for Hannah too.
The Barbie Dream House, that and a My Child doll.
LOL...I've got to do check out your interview, Renee.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Tina,
Thanks for the info on dump cake! Oh my gosh! I'm cutting and pasting that baby and plan to make it soon. And I thought Starbuck's scones were good. Dump cake sounds like a one-way ticket to heaven. YUM! YUM! YUM!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Great, great stats for Seekerville! Waving to everyone out there who stops by but doesn't leave a comment. Thank you for being a Seeker lurker, but say hello sometime. We're really a fun group!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Renee, anything you do to make life interesting is...well...interesting.

So let's see how Monday goes.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Wow! Lots of posts to look forward to!

    I love Snoopy.

I just remembered too that John Boy was a writer.

    Love The Waltons.

    Cheryl

  32. I'm so excited about Hannah's blog!

    ReplyDelete
  33. YAY! Thank you again, Seekerville! And Audra. I'm excited!

Looking forward to checking out the links when I'm not writing a test :p. Can. Not. Wait. for the semester to be over.

Oh - and for blogs etc - two words: Google Reader. Awesome.

Captcha: Frazo - Frazzled and frozen = me today

    ReplyDelete
  34. Ohhhh -- thanks for the dump cake recipe. It looks much nicer than it sounds. :-) But can somebody tell me how many cups or how many oz. 1 stick of butter is? You don't mean a whole 1lb do you ? Cause that is the only way I have seen it sold up here...and it's more of a block then a stick.

and yikes! 17,000 visitors in a month???? That's a lot of lurkers. I'll try to spiff up before logging on. No more Winnie the Pooh jammies for me.

And Mary -- at least we can be comforted by the fact that we won't ever be in danger of carbon monoxide poisoning in our homes thanks to all that fresh air circulating from the drafts. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  35. One stick of butter is 8 tablespoons. Does that help?

    ReplyDelete
  36. 2 sticks = 1/2 pound

    ReplyDelete
  37. LOL Pepper and Tina it seems we have a lot more in common than just our lve of books. Who knew Barbie dream houses were so popular?

    XOXO~ Renee

    ReplyDelete
  38. Hey, Tina! Thanks for the mention re: the online book signing. :-)

Christmas is coming soon!!! Merry Christmas, Seekers! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  39. My dump cake is a little more basic. It involves dumping three cans of cherry pie filling into the pan, spreadig it evenly, putting the cake mix on top of the cherries, and then drizling two sticks of melted butter over the cake mix.

Trust me, it works. And you can use blueberry pie filling, too.

Also, how can you watch the Oklahoma-Nebraska game and not see the Auburn - South Carolina highlights.

(Being an Auburn fan, I greatly enjoyed that game.)

Looking forward to the Auburn-Oregon game. My boys were born in Oregon, so they're a little conflicted.

And while I always look forward to every Seekerville post, I'm especially looking forward to tomorrow. I just finished Doctor in Petticoats and thought it was hilarious. I also developed a reader crush on Mandy, the focus of "Sharpshooter." (I do admit that if I was actually a character in the book, she would probably be a little young for me.)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Yeah, and Renee in my day Barbie Dream houses were made of stone.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Yum. Thanks for sharing that Walt!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Excellent edition, Teenster! Thanks for all the work you do compiling all this fun and interesting info!

    ReplyDelete
  43. My goodness, Tina is the queen of answering questions today! Come on, let's give her something challenging...

Tina, how about predicting who'll win the Falcons vs Buccaneers game? Come on, y'all need to be pulling for my Falcons!! Tina, maybe if you pick them, the'll pull it out.

Walt, our friend at church who is a huge Auburn fan had on his orange and blue striped tie and orange pocket hanky today! :)

    ReplyDelete
  44. Walt, Mandy's story is coming soon.

And honestly, by the time that story starts, Mandy has gotten really CRABBY.

But who knows? Maybe your wife is a tough, gun toting woman. :)

Glad you liked the book. I get Mandy into even more trouble in Wrangler in Petticoats

    ReplyDelete
  45. Are you serious? I don't do sports. Sports games are only good for wearing new cute clothes and eating sports food and looking at cute guys.

That being the case, HOCKEY AND BASEBALL ALL YEAR ROUND!! Along with RODEO!!!

    I Googled the answers.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Missy, my wife would throttle me if I did something like that.

Mary, looking forward to it. (Mandy, crabby. Granted, I can see that.)

    ReplyDelete
  47. Sounds like a GREAT week in store. :)

    ReplyDelete
  48. My daughter has a book that sings "O Little Town of Bethlehem" when you open it. As I type I am listening to her hum along with it, and great granny read the lyrics. Thank God for little blessings such as these.

I Won! wow! I am very excited and thankful. Thank God for little blessings such as these too.

My new friend CarolM won the other copy, so we'll be able to compare notes.

I am so glad the Julie Lessman event on AusJenny's blog is a week long. I thought I had missed it. Whew!

Mary~ You called Tina Teenee. It's funny to me because my DD calls my sister [Tiffany] Aunt Teenie. She can say Tiffany now, but the nickname just stuck. (My nephew still calls me Aunt Ninny, and he's turning 16 in two months, so I'd say Tiffany will be "Teenie" for many years to come).

Said daughter is wanting to play computer games, so I'm off.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Oh, Andrea, I love the name Aunt Ninny!! LOL

My Falcons pulled it out in the 4th quarter!! Woo hoo! I told my husband they needed to do their "4th quarter thing" they've been doing lately. And they did! Love those comebacks.

  50. Dump Cake Rules! That's all I gotta say today.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Dump cake: Add coconut to the pecans and it's even better.

    Easy-peasy peach cobbler:

1 large can sliced peaches dumped in cake pan
1 butter cake cake mix dumped in pan (dry)
1 Stick margarine (cut up or melted in microwave) on top

    Bake 350 until golden brown.

    Serve with vanilla ice cream

    ReplyDelete
  52. Congratulations to all the other winners. Looking forward to reading The Rancher's Reunion. Thanks, Tina.
Great lineup for next week, too.
