Today, Captain Jack cried. Real tears. I didn't think the scoundrel had it in him!
The poor man saw Tina’s message on the beach. He was so distraught when he saw that I, the last Seeker on Unpubbed Island, sold a book. I will leave with the next tide as soon as the supply boat arrives (but after the party, of course!), and he is all in a dither that Unpubbed Island will be shut down forever.
Not so!
Unpubbed Island is alive and well, and we’ll find out later what is to be done with this pristine piece of paradise that dreams are made of!
It is true. I, Pam Hillman, have sold my first book. (I'm whispering because the very thought sends Jack into another round of blubbering tears…) Other than taking Jack’s delicate sensibilities into consideration, I’m so excited to be a Tyndale House author!!
The call: It wasn’t a call exactly, but an email. My agent, the super savvy Steve Laube, of The Steve Laube Agency, emailed that Tyndale House had made an offer on my 2011 Golden Heart award finalist Stealing Jake, the story of a former street urchin pickpocket who steals the heart of the local deputy sheriff.
One thing led to another, and we said YES! I guess that pretty much sums it up. lol
My journey to publication has taken a long and winding road. But I wouldn’t trade the trip for anything. With each step, I’ve made friends in this industry and learned something that will help me on the rest of the journey. I would tell you all about it, but honestly, it would take forever.
I’m so thankful for Steve’s guidance and support, and for Jan Stob and the team at Tyndale House for believing in this story.
Not only am I going to be a Tyndale author, Stealing Jake is part of Tyndale's new Digital First Initiative, which is just what it sounds like. Digital first...and then the sky’s the limit!
And, that’s not all. Stealing Jake, and the other debut authors in the Digital First Initiative will release in July 2011! Now, isn’t that the coolest thing ever? I'll definitely let you know here in Seekerville when Stealing Jake releases, but follow me and Seekerville on Facebook and Twitter to get the latest news about all the Seekers.
Now, what’s next for Unpubbed Island?
Tell us what you think. Resort hotel with writers' retreats? An Unpubbed Survivor Island for the friends of Seekerville? A cruise destination from the mainland every time a Seeker makes another sale? An island getaway to write our next masterpiece? Let us know what you think for a chance to win one of today's prizes!

Nice hut, Tina! Who’s got first dibs?
To celebrate this momentous occasion that the Seeker Sisters have been working toward since we banded together in 2005, today we’re giving away 15 prizes, in honor of the BIG FIFTEEN! We are emptying Davy Jones’ locker and foraging for Captain Jack’s stash of Seeker books. Winners will be announced in the Weekend Edition.
So drop in, sit a spell, have some biscuits with homemade butter and blackberry jam (Jack made it himself!), eggs, bacon, ham, grits, and some of Helen’s great coffee, hot chocolate, and chamomille and vanilla chai tea.
And that’s just for breakfast!
We’ll serve lunch later, with a humongous coconut cream cheese cake with icing THIS thick made from scratch and sent over from the mainland with best wishes from my husband’s 93 yo grandmother. And we’ll wash it all down with fruit punch with huge scoops of pineapple ice cream floating on top. Yum!
No spiking, Jack! This is a respectable party, and Mamaw has her eye on you!

ReplyDeleteAnd I love all the ideas you listed for the island!
15 Seekers published! Wow! Just Wow!
Eva Maria Hamilton at gmail dot com
Congratulations Pam! How very exciting for you and for your Seekerville Sisters. The way you girls stick together and encourage one another is such a blessing to see here! Cannot wait to get your book on my kindle....it sounds interesting :)
ReplyDeleteHow cool --did you all think that in about 6 years, you all would be published?!
ReplyDeleteI recommend letting the many "unpubbed" Seeker friends stay on the island if they wish ... I think that place might be good luck or something. =)
*Heads over to linger by the food*
Congrats Pam.
ReplyDeleteI think unpub island should now become a resort where readers can visit and have an island getaway and where the authors can also have a getaway when the pressures get to much or they need some time out getting to know some of there readers
Congratulations, Pam!!! You must be so thrilled! :D Your book sounds very interesting!
ReplyDeletePerhaps this is a bit selfish, but I'd love to know that Unpubbed Island is still here for those of us who aren't published yet... ;)
~Amber
Wow congrats !!! Party time !!!! *streamers and balloons*
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Pam, how awesome that you are now a Tyndale author. So cool that you have all left the island now.
ReplyDeleteI think that next up for the island should be Unpubbed Survivor Island for the friends of Seekerville.
Mmmm the blackberry jam is delicious and I can't wait to taste the coconut cream cheese cake later today.
ruthdell[at]mweb[dot]co[dot]za
Congratulations, Pam! I look forward to reading Stealing Jake. We called my grandmother Mamaw also. I do miss her.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Pam!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, the unpubbed friends have to endeaor to do their best to join the party. Turn it into a resort with statues/monuments to the dream writers have.
wmussell(at)hotmail(dot)com
Congrats, Pam!! Awesome news. I'm excited for you. I got 'the email' instead of the call as well, but it is still just as thrilling.
ReplyDeletei can't imagine Capt Jack on the island alone, so I like the resort idea along with the it still being unpubbed island--for encouragement. You ladies are an inspiration!
Congrats, again!
YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOH MY STARS!
OH MYLANTA!
OH MY GRACIOUS SAKES, IS THIS A PARRRRRRRRTY OR WHAT?????

JACK!
A CARAMEL MACCHIATO, MY FINE MAN!
AND SOME OF THAT FINE LOOKING FISH TINA'S GOT ON THE FIRE.
I ALMOST MISS FISH. ;)
You want me to make coffee?
ReplyDeleteKNOWING THAT PAM IS GONE????
I won't.
Congrats on the big 15! Let's see, I think what should be next is a mix of everything. A cruise destination, an unpubbed survivor island, and a resort hotel.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Pam! How exciting!!! So wonderful the whole group has sailed away to more exciting adventures :)
ReplyDeleteWAHOOOOOOOOOO!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm wearing bells and feeling a bit overdressed...
But who CARES?
Way to go, especially being a groundbreaker like this! Wow! Digital first! Truly the last shall be first!
Congratulations PAM!!!
May at maythek9spy dot com
I got cold clammy chills. Stop Seekerville? Whoa. That thought hadn't crossed my mind.
Agree with Amber - selfishly, I hope not! Gulp!
Oh most definitely writers getaways (writers don't retreat do they?) At someplace fun. I hear SCBWI regional advisors did a cruise this year, since it was more thrifty! Imagine that?! Then we could stop off at that hut!
Know your Mamaw is so proud! Bet she has some bells too! Congratulations too!
I'm starved - let's start this party!
Mega congratulations, Pam!!!!!! I knew it would happen! It really was a dream that all 15 of us would sell, but we did. I'm amazed we all stuck with it. It goes to show perseverance pays off and dreams can come true!!! Okay, it doesn't happen as quickly as we'd like, but that's all right!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great day for Pam, the Seekerville sisters and all our fabulous friends!!!!!!!!!!
Congratulations, Pam, but rats I'm going to have to break my 'no digital for me' rule and in a month!!!!! What a fast publication time!
ReplyDeleteI selfishly hope that unpubbed island remains as a cyberspace retreat for all those who need it (and a dose of grumpy Captain Jack.) That way the poor dear won't be lonely.
WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO, PAMMY!!
ReplyDeleteWHAT A WONDERFUL OPPORTUNITY WITH TYNDALE HOUSE! AND THEY'VE CHOSEN YOU TO HELP SPEARHEAD A WHOLE NEW DIRECTION FOR THEM.
WOW. I ALWAYS KNEW YOU WERE SPECIAL, NOW THE REST OF THE WORLD WILL, TOO!!!
LET THE GRASS SKIRTS SWISH AND LET'S KICK UP SOME SAND!!
OH JACK, DON'T BE SUCH A STICK IN THE MUD. SERVE THE COFFEE BE A FINE HOST, WILL YOU? THE ISLAND IS FORGOTTEN, IT'S JUST GETTNG A MAKE OVER!!
THINK PAMMY FIRST!
HMM, THE BUFFETT IS LOOKING SWEET. CAN'T WAIT FOR THAT CHEESECAKE!!
LET'S GET THIS PARTY ROLLING!
oops, I meant buffet...can you tell I'm thinking Jimmy Buffett for this island party???
ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS!!!! And digital first???? I'm so glad and I have a Nook now!
ReplyDeleteCHEERS TO PAM.....everyone clunk those coconut shell glass together!
I like the seclusion of Unpublished Island as a writing retreat...
YEAH, YEAH, YEAH, YEAH, YEAH
ReplyDeleteWAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO,
HAPPY DANCING!!!!!!

OHHHH PAMMY, CONGRATS GIRLFRIEND.
ReplyDeleteCaptain Jack whacked me on the head so I'd stop screaming and dancing enough to talk.
WHOOOOPPPEEEEEEEEE !!!!!!!!!!
YIPPPPEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!
Sorry Jack. This is just TOOOOOOO EXCITING!!!!
A Tyndale Author. WHOOOHOOOOOO
And a debut of a new event. HOw exciting. And you are headed in the right direction. I mean with Kindles and the young folk, digital is IN
HAPPY DANCING!!!!!!! WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
OUCH. Stop it Jack. You know we love you. We aren't going to desert you. We're writers. We have imagination. We are going to come up with more fun than even YOU can handle.
WHOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY DANCING!!!
Mary!!
ReplyDeleteAll that screaming wear you out, did it?
Hope you got some rest last night.
May has been barking and barking. I finally listened.
ReplyDeleteShe wants to say, "PAWSOME, Miss Pam!!! What good is a beach without a dog to play with? I'll bring toys."
Wshew. Now I can get back to work!
Eva Maria. I stand in awe of God's handiwork in this. In a little less than 6 years, HE made it happen.
ReplyDeleteNot to say that most of us had been writing for years before we became sisters, but forming the Seekers was a watershed moment for us. At least it was for me.
15/6 = 2.5 Seekers sold EVERY year!
Wow!
Thank you Critty. I loved writing Stealing Jake. The heroine and the hero are at opposite ends of an opinion on what to do about the street kids roaming the streets...
ReplyDeleteand then it gets worse! lol
Pam said:
ReplyDelete15/6 = 2.5 Seekers sold EVERY year!
LOL!!! Only you, Pammy dear, with the quick calculations!
Can we have that on a spreadsheet??
LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!
Oooo, you've gotta try these pinapple coconut smoothies! With a twist of lime to walk on the wild side, LOL!
Who wants to go to work? I want to stay and party!
Audra, I"m with you.
ReplyDeleteWork. No. No No
Play. YES YES YES
And May has the right idea. Let's go for a run on the beach. Hey, I'll teach anyone how to surf who wants to learn. Surf's perfect today. Not to big to scare you but just the right curl for a great ride.
Come on Pamster. Forget that spreadsheet. Let's go play.
Lady Dragonkeeper, To tell you the truth, during that 6 years, it seemed like we would NEVER all sell. Debby sold like the first WEEK after we all became best buds, and by my handy-dandy calculations, I figured we'd all be contractede in 6 months at least! lol
ReplyDeleteGood Morning everyone!! Congrats Pam on your first sale!! How great that in 6 years you all have sold!! I agree with all the ideas about what to do with the Island. Anything that is done with the Island would be great as long as it isn't sold!!
ReplyDeleteOh dear that last sentence will probably send Jack off into another round of tears. I better go find him and give him a hug!!
fantum2004ATsbcglobalDOTnet
WAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dancing and singing and swinging from the palm trees, that's me!! I'm just that happy for our Pam!!!!!!!! And for Tyndall House for signing a fabulous author!!!
ReplyDeleteCaptain Jack, stop that weeping, the Seekers will still be visiting the island! How could we not? This beautiful place kept us serene--or was it sane :-)--as we forged ahead towards publication, never losing the faith that one day we'd all make it to the mainland. Yay, we have!!!!
Pam, only you would calculate the number of Seekers who escaped unpubbed island. LOL at the 2.5, though there are some days I feel like half a person.
Now let's party!!!
Janet
Jenny, that sounds so relaxing! Just what all of us need. A relaxing island getaway.
ReplyDeleteBTW, there's fresh coffee. It's probably not as good as Helen's, but it will tide you over. And the fixings for tea are on the other end of the table.
Amber, Unpubbed Island will still be here. You can't erase a dream, can you?
ReplyDeleteAnn! Thanks for the congrats.
Aye, lass!
ReplyDeleteTears, yes, but...
A few of me friends, ladies an' the like, have been feedin' into my ear that all is not lost.
That an end is only another way of seeing a new beginning.
And that rum will abound!
In that case, line it up me friends! I stand to serve, well, as long as I CAN stand an' all.
Sandra...
Ye know me too well, ye ken!
And you, Cara-mia!
I'll tread waters of Newport with you anytime, darlin'.
Mary: You bring the food, woman.
I'll man the drink.
And we'll toast God!
Timing!
And rum!
(that last was all me, of course.)
Macchiatos, frappucinos, lattes...
Step right up.
Ruth Ann, you will LOVE Mamaw's coconut cake. It is delish. She made it ahead of time, and then packed it in dry ice so the flavors would start to blend. And she uses coconut cream to make it super moist. Oohh-la-la!!
ReplyDeleteJillian, Mamaw is Mamaw to everybody around here, so you can be an adopted granddaughter. She retired about 6 years ago from teaching GED Algebra at the local college, and the students adored her!
Congraulatios Pam! I know you are excited.
ReplyDeleteI'm up for the biscuits. I bought some Amish pear butter and some Amish rolled butter the other day, so I'll share that with y'all.
Let's party!
plhouston(at)bellsouth(dot)net
Double Congrats, Pam.....so happy for you! I've got to get a Kindle now for Stealing Jake (which I hope to WIn or else will buy!!).
ReplyDeleteThe unpub island should go on...in some way...you writers know best how to handle that and I am just a reader!!!
Oooh, Walt, good idea! A bust in Ruthy's honor.
ReplyDeleteNow, who to commission it????
Oh, wait, you didn't mean statues of US, did you?
ReplyDeleteSee, success is already going to my head.
Okay, the idea of a statue for author's DREAMS is STILL a great idea!
Lindi, I live off of email these days. I'm almost shocked when I get a phone call about business. Then when I do, I ask that the caller email me the details so I have it in writing! lol
ReplyDeleteRUTHY!!! 15 out of 15. Not bad numbers, eh??
Here is the plan.
ReplyDeleteEvery hour on the hour (unless I get distracted by a shiny object) I will draw the name of a winner from the entire list of comments.
BUT I'M NOT TELLING YOU WHO WINS.
FOR THAT YOU'LL HAVE TO CHECK IN TO THE WEEKEND EDITION!!!!!
I'm drawing one name an hour for fifteen hours and I'm ALREADY LATE STARTING.

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Adge, sounds good to me. Maybe I can get a REAL bed this time though, and not one of those hammocks.
ReplyDeleteCheryl and Camy delighted in sneaking into my hut late at night and twisting me up in that thing.
Threw me for a loop, it did!
Thanks Victoria and KC (and MAY too!) I hear her barking excitedly in the background. And I brought some doggie biscuits just for her.
ReplyDeleteCruising to the island would be fun. I wonder if Jack would let us use The Black Pearl??
Kav, not to worry. Jack will never be lonely. Sigh
ReplyDeleteHowever, he IS pouting over there in the corner. I guess I need to go reassure him once again that we are NOT abandoning him...
Buffett, buffet, what's the difference?
ReplyDeleteI actually know a woman who calls it a "Buffett" I have to struggle to keep a straight face every time!
Congratulations Pam! And it's releasing this summer!!! WAHOOOOOOO FOR YOU!!! That is sooooo exciting!
ReplyDeletePerhaps Unpubbed Island should be leased to another group of writers willing to follow the example of the Original 15. Not that the Originals would hand over the deed or anything so drastic. Captain Jack would be forced to shed blood! Perhaps chose several who would and could help out under the Original's supervision.
Well Pammy, at least they didn't take off with your swimsuit top like Ruthy did to me all the time.
ReplyDeleteBut it was fun to watch you try and untangle yourself.
And the words you came up with so you wouldn't swear. So FUNNY!!!
Oh boy Mary, A winner already. YIPPEEEE
Wonderful news for Pam! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what to think about the future for Seekerville. The name still applies, since I thought of it as seeking in the spiritual sense, not just publication.
I know blogging like this is a ton of work and you guys do it so well. Gosh, are you seriously thinking of shutting down the island?
Well, do what you gotta do, ladies. You have a wonderful archive.
I would miss you terribly, though. Just sayin'

YAY PAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWill drop back in later and say more.
I'm gonna curl up in a hut and take a nap.

And I finally did it. I finally bit the bullet, in honor of Pam, and bought a Kindle today.
ReplyDeleteI've been teetering on the edge for a long, long time and today, I took the leap.
(Bullets, edge teetering, leaping? All very dramatic)
Pammy's book will be available electronically BUT DO NOT FORGET you can also download it to your computer, so Kindle/Nook or NOT, you can get it.
Thanks Rose. And btw, Seekerville has a Kindle with a TON of Seeker books and some ebooks too in the Brenda Novak auction for diabetes. Go bid! It's a great way to donate to a needy cause AND get your Kindle too!
ReplyDeletehttp://brendanovak.auctionanything.com/Bidding.taf?_function=detail&Auction_uid1=2168958
Well, Pam, I'm sitting her bawling like a baby!! And it really kicked into gear when I read out motto there at the end. I can't believe the time is finally here!! And of course, it goes without saying...the tears are tears of JOY!!
ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS!!!!! :) :)
Poor Sandra! Jack IS in a snit today, isn't he?
ReplyDeleteMaybe I shouldn't have hide all the rum...
YIKES!!! MARY WOKE ME UP WITH ALL THAT HOLLERING, BUT SOOOOOOOOO WORTH IT!!!!
ReplyDeleteWAY-TO-GO-PAMSTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I GET COLD CHILLS JUST THINKIN' ABOUT WHAT GOD HAS DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SIMPLY CANNOT WAIT TO READ JAKE!!!!!
LADYDRAGONKEEPER SAID: "I think that place might be good luck or something." I THINK "BLESSED" IS AN APPROPRIATE WORD, DON'T YOU???
FULL-STRENGTH JAVA FOR THIS CDQ TODAY SO I CAN PAR-TEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!
HUGS,
JULIE
Giving May a doggie biscuit!
ReplyDeleteGetting a a high-five (or is it 6?)from our four-footed mascot Ms. May is
PAWSOME!
My ninety year old dad bought a kindle and he loves it. He can make the font BIG so he can read again.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to consider one myself now that Pammy is digital. whoooo hooooooo
Great idea Mary.
Hey, Captain Jack just climbed the coconut tree and dropped down a bunch. Lets go get some fresh coconut before he soaks it in rum.
Okay, some of you can wait for the rum. Just let me have some first.
Pam, I congratulated you but I forgot to congratulate Tyndale for their wisdom in buying Stealing Jake!
ReplyDeleteIf I hadn't had the Seekers to listen to and learn from I think I might have quit writing long ago. It would've been too soon. So thanks ladies. End of speech. But I really mean it!
So Pam, what are you writing now?
Alas, Audra and Sandra, I do have to step out for a bit, but I will be back.
ReplyDeleteSoon, I hope. I see Jack has livened up a bit.
Maybe it was just the early hour before.
Yes, that's it.
Congratulations, my friend!!! Couldn't happen to a more deserving person!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! Hope you sell lots!
ReplyDeleteOkay, now I'm wiping tears AND snorting laughing picturing Mary distracted by shiny objects!! LOL!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Pam!!! You're an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great party! And what a great blessing for all the Seekers!
ReplyDeleteIs anyone cutting the cake yet? And save a sip (yes, Jack, just a sip) of the rum for me - I'll stop in for it later this afternoon...
Please keep Unpubbed Island going, ladies - there are enough of us still striving to keep the huts tidy and in good repair!
I'll be back - all the excitement makes me want to get some work done.
And congratulations again, Pam!!!!
jandrex(at)juno(dot)com
Jack, GET BACK HERE WITH THOSE COCONUTS.
ReplyDeleteOkay, okay, you're taking them to mamaw but do you honestly think she is going to make you your very own coconut cake????????
One that you won't share???????
So INCREDIBLY excited for you, Pam! WOOOO!!
ReplyDeleteAs a proud owner of an official Unpubbed Island necklace, I get more clout in the vote, yes?
I love the idea of us other unpubbeds to stay there. ;)
joanne(at)joannesher(dot)com
Sis bought a Kindle and got it last week. We're sharing an account. I get to borrow it from time to time until I get one.
ReplyDeleteA Kindle is second on my list of things to save for - after ACFW. Though if DH and I both get classes this summer, there's no need to save and can just register. Then I can use the money I've already saved to buy one. Then I can get Pam's book when it comes out [HATE reading on the computer Kindle app but would for Pammer ;)].
Stayed up too late watching Joplin MO coverage [about 70 miles west of us, storm went 15mi south, we're fine] so back to napping in the hut.
Do we need to leave our email each time to get entered for these drawings? Just checkin ;).

UNPUBBED ISLAND HAS OFFICIALLY BEEN REZONED!!!!!
Oh, my. I feel the tears coming on. What a wild and crazy and emotion-packed journey! Tina said it best: "No woman left behind."
And WOW!!!! IT'S HAPPENED!!!!
PAM, YOU ARE AMAZING!
CONGRATULATIONS, GIRLFRIEND!
Congrats, Pam! I think Unpubbed Survivor Island would be great, or also a cruise destination whenever a Seeker makes a sale.
ReplyDeleteHolly
oceandreamerfla(at)aol(dot)com
How delightful! Grammar Queen has just heard Pam's exciting news!
ReplyDeleteIn honor of this momentous occasion, Grammar Queen has placed a moratorium on random grammar checking for the rest of the day, and in particular will refrain from chastising overzealous writers on excessive use of exclamation points.
Congratulations, Pam!!!!!!!!
YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!
ReplyDeleteSO happy for you, Pam!! =]
You Seeker ladies have been a HUGE encouragement to so many of us--even those of us who don't drop by and comment often. ;-)
Yup, GOTTA keep the island running! Please!! I liked all your ideas--can I have Tina's hut? ;-)
Congratulations, Pam! =] =] =]
CONGRATULATIONS PAM!! The Digital First Initiative sounds like a great program, and allows a the author and publisher to get the work out there a lot quicker.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for Stealing Jake!
An island writer's retreat sounds wonderful.

Congrats again, Pam!! Are you excited for the new phase of your writing life? Are you going to miss Unpubbed Island? Any looking over your shoulder at Captain Jack’s tearful salute? Or are you ready to set sail full steam ahead for the Published Mainland?
ReplyDeleteI like all the ideas for how the original Unpubbed Island could be remembered. The first island museum maybe? Haha. Although the idea of an “Unpubbed Survivor Island for the friends of Seekerville” caught my interest. I can see all of us carrying our torches. LOL.
A cruise destination from the mainland every time a Seeker makes another sale?
I like this idea, too!
An island getaway to write our next masterpiece?
Sure!
I say, the island is big enough for anything you can dream.
Once again, congrats, Pam! And congratulations to you all! I know you must each be remembering your sail from Unpubbed Island.

WOOO HOOOO!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Pam!! I know it's been a long road for you, but God's timing rules all! So so happy for you!!! Way to go, friend!!!
I spent 2 hours and 21 minutes with Captain Jack on Saturday as I watched him search for the fountain of youth. Fun flick. Loved Penelope Cruz and the new layer she added to Jack's character.
Congratulations, Pam!! Celebrating with you. Your novel sounds like a great read!!

i'VE GOT SPREAD SHEETS GOING HERE, SOMETHING PAMMY TAUGHT ME.
ReplyDeleteI've emptied the prize vault, but this is Seekerville and we'll start filling it up again right away.
But this is the day that the Lord has made.
And I intend to REJOICE with Pammy all day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think we need UnPubbed Island for a writer's retreat.
ReplyDeleteAnd for a haven for our Seekervillagers who are still trying to build a raft of words and catch a tradewind in their sails to get to the mainland.
Or maybe we can just leave Jack there alone. He's being kind of RUDE. Pouty. Behavior unbecoming a pirate.
Oh, no Cathy, we're not closing down Seekerville!!! We love hanging out here with everyone!! Truly can't imagine leaving Unpubbled Island either when it's just the most gorgeous place to kick back or party.
ReplyDeleteCaptain Jack, will you agree to ferry us and our friends back and forth? Pretty please with coconut on top.
Janet
I'm so happy for you, Pam!!!! You deserve this celebration and many more!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Pam!
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of the island as cruise destination, just because a cruise sounds very appealing.
melaniej_evans@yahoo.com
Ship ahoy! Permission to come aboard? Thanks for inviting us to your party in celebration of Pam's first sale. I have journeyed with her to Published Island for almost ten years, and we both finally made it this year, so I agree it is time to celebrate! The prizes and food sound great! Thank you for helping so many of us reach our goal so we can all help others reach theirs! crmcc at setel dot com ps. the hut would make a great writer's getaway place!
ReplyDeletePam, I just heard your good news! I'm so happy for you and I wish loads of publishing success!!
ReplyDeleteHow in the world do you keep up with all the posts?? LOL This is my first time to Seekerville, and I'm a little inundated! HA!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so late coming to the party. How dare life get in the way this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe Grammar Queen said we can use exclamation marks, so.....
PAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHOO-OOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'M DANCIN' ON THE BEACH, HUGGIN' JACK AND PRAISING THE LORD FOR SUCH GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HUGS!!!!
LOVE!!!!
SCREAMS OF JOY!!!!!
Good for Tyndale to recognize your talent and accept your wonderful story for publication.
My Kindle is ready for your debut release!!!!!
YAY, PAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A. M. Wilson, it's always fun in Seekerville. So glad you're here to celebrate.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried the grits? YUM!
Yum Debby, Grits and coconut. What a combo.
ReplyDeleteBut hey, we're partying here on the island.
Anybody ready to do the limbo?????
Jack's rounding up a band.
Grammar Queen. Thanks for permission to SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The blog is definitely staying!! We just need to decide how to use the island. And I'm loving the suggestions!!
ReplyDeleteSandra.......limbo line perhaps? I'm ready.
ReplyDeleteWhere did Jack go? That scallywag.
A.M. Wilson, we're so glad you joined us!! We hope you'll come back!! :)
ReplyDeleteYou know, personally, I love the idea of an island writing retreat. I work best with waves crashing in the background as white noise.
ReplyDeleteI'm back for just a bit. Then gone again! Wow, Mary, you are a prize drawing machine!
ReplyDeleteThank you, dear sister!
Pam, congratulations. "And those who are last will be first," or something like that. So glad you made it off the island.

ReplyDeleteOh, and exclamation points are allowed?
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now, where's that coconut cake?
Congratulations! I hope you oopen the Island to friends not yet pubbed, and i'd like to be one of thoise friends.
ReplyDeletePam, I'm thinking of statues of each you (sort of like some schools do for Heisman trophy winners.)
ReplyDeleteIn Ruthy's case, we need a shrine. :-)
Congrats Pam!!!!!*
ReplyDeleteI prefer eBooks! Yea!
So happy I don’t have to wait nine months to read "Stealing Jake"!
Idea for Unpub Island:
"Fiction is the hottest category in the e-book marketplace," said Tyndale's Associate Publisher for Fiction Karen Watson. "Our challenge is that we see more publish-worthy novels than we can reasonably take to print in a year.
Since publishable books can go without a publisher, I’d like to see Unpub Island become a virtual ePublisher for all the Seeker Books that have not yet found a publishing home.
I think Tina would make a great editor.
Vince

*The three explanation point rule has been suspended for today.
Seekers:
ReplyDeleteI think you should trademark “The Fabulous Fifteen”.
Vince
You should build a big resort on the island with all the advances you're raking in. ;P and hold seminars for the unpubbed. Make sure you have lots of seafood on the menu for those ridiculously expensive hotel-catered meals. Because no seafood on an island resort is sad beyond words.
ReplyDeletermjagears AT gmail DOT com
Congrats to Pam, must have been hard to be the last one off. Thankfully you had that scoundrel, Jack, for company. Much more handsome than Wilson. Has anyone seen Wilson???
THIS IS THE BEST SEEKERVILLE DAY EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWAHOOOOO PAM!!!!!!
Everyone, thanks for celebrating with us.
Cheryl
Can you believe it, Christine? That’s the magic of ebooks. I’m so excited that Tyndale is blazing the trail for the big publishers with this Digital First model. And, of course, I want to do my part to blaze a trail through the jungles of Unpubbed Island to make this venture a success!
ReplyDeleteLeasing Unpubbed Island? Now that’s a cool idea, Christine! Captain Jack and I will have to put our heads together on that one!
You do realize, though, that Unpubbed Island is prime real estate?
Just sayin’
Sandra, a tangled hammock muffles a lot of unsavory words unfit for delicate ears!
ReplyDeleteNever, Cathy!! Never, never, never!
ReplyDeleteI’m beginning to sound like Peter Pan….
Take your pick of huts for your nap, Carol. They’re all empty.
ReplyDeleteBut steer clear of Debby’s. She’s been gone since 2005, so there could be spiders and tarantulas there. And even (Mary, close your eyes) MICE!
This is marvelous! Now I suspect there will be a boat load of seekers shipwrecked on this island before long to continue the quest.
ReplyDeleteI'm reading Debby Giusti's new Love Inspired Suspense, The Office's Secret. Very good read.
YAY PAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw your name I got all excited for you! (mentioned it in our weekend ed too ;-)
Oh don't shut down the island, there are still a few of us left. But I'm all for a Seeker cruise. :-)
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mary! You bought a Kindle in my honor???
ReplyDeleteWow! Thank you!
Is that kind of like donating Bibles to The Gideons when somebody dies?
I've read the beginning of Stealing Jake and it is an AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME story! LOVE the characters. GO BUY IT as soon as you can!
ReplyDeleteWAHOOO PAM!!!!!
Cheryl
Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of using the island for a writer's retreat. I'd spend all my time at the beach!
ReplyDeleteRight now I'd love a piece of cake to celebrate Pam's sale.
I know, Missy. I had my post ready to go live, and then I was sitting in church last night...
ReplyDelete(yes, I was listening to the sermon. It was about…uh…it was…he talked about…uh…I’ll get back to you on that…)
...and I made a mental note to add our Motto which is so William-Tell-On-Target it makes your eyes pop when it hits that apple on top of your head!
Congratulations, Pam! I'm so excited for you, and the Digital First release idea sounds awesome. I'm preferring Kindle reading to paper these days (**glances around to see who might be glowering at those words**) partly because I can adjust the font. The paper book I have on the go just has too small and thin a font--and too much in italics which is nearly indecipherable. So I'm becoming a much bigger fan of ebooks. (And if I eat the breakfast and cake you have spread out, I'll become a much bigger PERSON, too...)
ReplyDeleteMy dear, dear friend, Pam....I'm BEYOND thrilled for you...even reading all these congrats has me tearing up (yeah, yeah, yeah--I DO have a heart when it comes to my friends, so THERE!) I have to say, this day has been a LONG time coming, baby, and I can't wait to see your name on the BESTSELLER list! :)
ReplyDeleteWOOHOO!!!! I KNEW this day would come.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Pam, and to all the Seekers, who have proven that with perserverernce, prayer, sisterhood, community, and a lot of really good cyber-food, dreams really can come true.
Thrilled for all of you, but today, especially for Pam.
Congrats again!!!
Congratulations, Pam! Your exile to the island is now over! You give many of us over in the land of Unknown hopeful!
ReplyDeleteScarlet Pumpernickel,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind words about THE OFFICER'S SECRET!!! HUGS!
Did you find the grits?
And Jack?
He's down by the water, doing the Limbo with Sandra!
Oh My Gosh
ReplyDelete117 comments and it's not noon yet.
That's because this is the finest moment in Seekerville!!!!!!!!!!!!
and we are rooting for all our Seekervillagers to get a contract, too. I've tried but all the YouTube fireworks seem to have a long advertisement you've got to sit through before you can watch things blow up.
but imagine the fireworks display to end all fireworks display. And even grumpy Captain Jack is (secretly) happy for Pammy.
Hey, Scarlet! I'm glad you made it over here. :)
ReplyDeletePam,
ReplyDeleteI cleaned out my hut so it's ready for any guest writer who needs a retreat by the water.
Sunscreen included. And a beach chair, umbrella, a stack of beach towels and sunglasses!
And it's ten minutes until the next drawing.
ReplyDeleteMary, nice job with the prizes! I really want to see that spreadsheet, though. I think maybe you were exaggerating a little to try to impress Pam.
ReplyDeleteI think maybe you have a piece of scrap paper and a pencil. And a hat with little torn strips of paper.
;)
Pam -
ReplyDeleteThat's why it should only be leased to the right group and still kept under the watchful eye of the Originals.
I have found so much here to help me navigate the shark invested waters of the writer's life. I'd hate to have it become an uncharted isle.
Erica,
ReplyDeleteGlad you included the prayer and cyber-food in your list of essentials for publication!
Also glad you could be with us today to celebrate Pam's success!!!
Fireworks start at dark!
Mega congratulations, Pam! I squealed when I first saw the announcement on Twitter. I'm thrilled for you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a testimony you Seekers are to wanna-be-published writers everywhere. Your talent coupled with your dedication, hard work, and perseverance have paid off BIG time. All fifteen Seekers sold. WOW!!!
Everyone send out a Tweet to announce our good news!
ReplyDeleteYou're who finally pushed me to do it, Pammy. I've been on the border for about six months and then when you got the digital contract, which is SUCH an exciting idea, I finally tipped.
ReplyDeleteI bought the $114 one, with the ads. I talked to a guy yesterday who has the ads and he say's they're only on the screen saver page, not in any way interferring while you're reading.
I'd love to hear more about the digital first book releases. But do a while day on it, Pam.
Into the future we go, huh? :)

ReplyDeleteMISSY!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIn honor of digital publishing I am doing this ALL in the highest or high tech ways.
Except for the part where I choose the winner with eeney, meeney, miney, mo.
Gather 'round me lads & lassies!
ReplyDeleteSomeone has absconded with me rum!
Was it Sandra?
Or are Tina & Ruthy racing off to the city of New York with it?
Mark my words, I will find it & serve it to all!
Emerging from lurkdom to say:
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Congrats! Whoo-hoo!
Jack, the Seekers have been discussing this for a long time.
ReplyDeleteWe had a plan.
First: Get everyone off the Island
Second: Intervention for Barista Jack Sparrow
Your rum is GONE. We've been so worried.
You'll thank us later, honey.
Blessed is right Julie!
ReplyDeleteBut you know what makes a place blessed? The people, not the place. And I have some of the best people in the world around me. My real family, my Seeker sisters, my ACFW family, my agent, and now my publisher.
I haven’t mentioned her yet, but Robin Miller (aka Robin Caroll) is the best friend anybody could have. Thank you, Robin, for all you do!
Pam -
ReplyDeleteI could not be happier for you - you definitely deserve! Can't wait to see where this takes you! See you at ACFW...
Janna

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!
ReplyDeletePam, I cried, too. What a wonderful testament to what God can do with women who have chosen to honor him with their talents.
Congratulations, Pam. You soooooooooooo deserve it.
Sidebar to the celebration: Thank you, to all the Seekers, who have made this place so welcoming.
ReplyDeleteI know that most of us regulars harbor a tiny bit of longing to have been one of those "Original Seekers", part of that special group of writers. And yet, we all know that we're a part of this community, one of the original 15 or not. That is a great testament to how all of you treat writers as friends when they drop by here.
Thank you for all the wonderful advice and knowledge, the encouragement, the occasional kick in the pants when we're wavering, the celebrations when one of the SeekerVillagers sells, finals, etc. And thank you for always rolling out the palm-frond carpet in welcome. We can't even imagine how much work goes into maintaining this community, but we sure do appreciate it.
You've all said that without Seekerville, you wouldn't be where you are today...and I say that doesn't just apply to the original 15. I know the SeekerVillagers wouldn't be where we are today without you gals.
Thank you!!!!!!!
So now that you're contracted...planing any vacations to Cancun or the Bahamas with that vast advance? ;-))
ReplyDeleteHmm, pass the pineapple please!
Congrats Pam...that's so exciting! I'm so glad you are going to have your book digitally published...I can get it on my ipad:) Love it!
ReplyDeleteIt's encouraging for those of us still unpublished to keep at it:)
Please enter my name for a chance to win!

Sandra, we were waiting at the doctor’s office one day, and I set up the KJV on my Kindle for Mamaw to read. She loved it. The only problem was her hands got tired of holding it up, but she still read for about an hour!
ReplyDeleteCara, I’m working on an indentured servant story set in the 1790’s. Terms of Indenturement won the Genesis contest last year.
ReplyDeleteBut I’m also plotting a sequel to Stealing Jake. The title is Trusting Trey.
It’s about a young widow who’s falling in love with the man who wants to re-open the coal mine that killed her husband.
I agree with Erica. I've learned so much here, not just about writing (though I've learned plenty about that!) but about sisterhood and camaraderie.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much to all 15 of you for opening this blog and allowing us all to join you on this journey so many of us are (or have been) on.
Well, that was unnerving.
ReplyDeleteBarista Jack won the drawing this hour.
But I--in my all powerful wisdom--disqualified him for his dreadful attitude and picked someone else.

ReplyDeleteAnd, Missy, I laughed too. Mary is easily distracted. But then so am I…
Hey, I'm finally here. Stormy again last night, and my Internet went out. Just now back on. On party day, no less.
ReplyDelete140 comments already!! So I have to assume there has been plenty of coffee consumed. Thanks to whoever has been providing it.
Now here's a fresh pot to keep the party going.
I've said before that I think the island should become an academy for the seeker friends who need training and development. Let us know what the tuition is.
Helen
P.S. Now gotta go back and read all the comments. Had to comment first while I know I have internet.
.
OOOOO, OOOOO, I'M ALL for a Seeker cruise!!!
ReplyDeleteERICA SAID: "I know that most of us regulars harbor a tiny bit of longing to have been one of those "Original Seekers", part of that special group of writers."
To this very day, I STILL pinch myself that I "fell in" to this wonderful group of ladies, and never get over thanking God for His goodness in putting us together. It is seriously AMAZING how cohesive our personalities are!!! But I would have to say that the true spirit of this incredible group is not limited to just 15, but embraces the hundreds of AMAZING friends who have become Seekers as well, one BIG group of writers anointed to write for HIM!!!
MAY THE ANOINTING FLOW TO THE FARTHEST REACHES OF THIS GROUP TO BRING GLORY TO HIS NAME!!!
Hugs,
Julie
RECIPE TIME!!!
ReplyDeleteIn honor of the occasion, I, Mary Connealy, am bringing food.
Mainly because I found the most delicious five minute recipe with pineapple in it.
Five minutes prep time. Crock pot recipe.
chicken breasts
onion
pineapple chunks
barbeque sauce
Empty one bag of frozen chicken breasts into a crock pot.
Chop one whole onion and layer it over the chicken
Drain the juice off a can (any size) of pineapple chunks and put the pineapple over the onions.
Pour one bottle of your favorite barbeque sauce over everything.
cook for seven hours in the crock pot, shred the chicken breasts with two forks. Serve on buns.
Absolutely delicious.
And those pineapple chunks are like finding little bits of delicious gold.
I made enough for everyone and, in deference to Jack's new more ... sober ... lifestyle ... I've made a barrel of non-alcoholic pina coladas.
Make it immediately.
I'll use this recipe again where there are NOT 147 comments to wade through to find it.
ReplyDeletePam!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for you! I slept in till 11 on my first day of vacation and am enjoying your success. Wait till you see your baby in print.
Hugs,,
Jill
Pam, LOVE the concept for the second book!
ReplyDeleteI'm also getting a Kindle in your honor!
Billy's buying! :-)
And I agree about Robin. Don't know what I'd do without her.
Seekervillagers....you help make Seekerville what it is. We adore and appreciate each and every one of you. Your support and encouragement have been AMAZING! Thank you for celebrating our Seeker sister's success with us!
Cheryl
Am I too late to join the party? Hope adjusts the palm-frond hat and reaches for a coconut filled with sparkling coconut water. Ahhh, thanks, Jack.
ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS PAM!!!!! That is, indeed, wonderful news! I'm so happy for you!
Here's a thought (probably already expressed, but I ran out of time along about post 75 or so): How about Seekerville discovering that the waters have dropped enough that now they can cross the isthmus to Pubbed Island, a lovely place with even more palm trees, beautiful grass shacks, and the occasional visit from Captain Jack (if, indeed, you can keep him on Unpubbed Island at all once he sees the amenities on Pubbed Island)? And, since Unpubbed Island will still be there, have unpubbed guests land from time to time, to share thoughts, ideas, and cries for help... :)
Many blessings to you all, and may this be the first of many sales for you, Pam!
Congratulations, Pam! So exciting!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness the island will reaian in friendly hands. A writer's retreat sounds heavenly.
Enjoy the party!!

Wow, Pam, that is *AWESOME*!!!! I have been following Seekerville for a while and while I have been a pretty silent follower, I still enjoy reading each post y'all put up.
ReplyDeleteYour first book - How exciting! All the ideas you listed for the future of Seekerville sound awesome. I can't wait to find out what else y'all do with this wonderful ministry for other writers. :-)
Keep up the awesome work, Seekers!!

CONGRATULATIONS, Pam!!! I am so happy for you!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations !! This is so exciting, hopefully this is just the first of many books to be published !

Pam:
ReplyDeleteRight now I'm saving for ACFW, but an e-reader in your honor is next on the list.
See what you're causing!!!
Congratulations again!
Here, Jan, here’s a piece of cake, just for you! It’s yummy!
ReplyDeleteThere’s a cave back of the waterfall that keeps it perfectly chilled. Mmmm-mmmm good!
Ha ha! San, Mamaw WOULD make Jack his very own cake, and she’d preach to him while he was eating it!
ReplyDeleteGood for Mamaw. Jack could use some good ole fashioned preaching.
ReplyDeleteNot that it would do any good.
But then again he might just listen for his own coconut cake. Who said the way to a man's heart is through his stomach?????
YIKES!!!! It's already 1:00 p.m. and I'm just now arriving at the party---but I'm still joining in! ~ CONGRATULATIONS to Pam!!!! I am sooo very happy for you and pray that the Lord continues to bless your writing! ~ YUM! That coconut cake is sooo good! Felt like I should bring food too since I am arriving late--so here's my Georgia Pecan Pie, Georgia Peach Punch, and Georgia Peanut Brittle (yes, I am a proud southern girl, teehee). ~ Cannot wait to hear the plans for Unpubbed Island--hope it's still available for those of us still "waiting"--also hope Capt. Jack will make frequent appearances! ~ Has anyone requested Ruthy's hut yet? Am hoping she left some Derek Jeter posters?! ~ Hugs from Georgia, Patti Jo :)
ReplyDelete12 o'clock winner!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd the conga line has broken out!!!!
THERE HAS BEEN NO WORD FROM THELMA AND LOUISE.....uh I mean Ruthy and Tina.......but only chaos can be involved in their road trip.

Pam, I told you Jack would be crying on a boulder!
ReplyDeleteI think you need to keep the island as a sabbath retreat for writers to get away and write without the every day interruptions. Maybe a place to hold workshops and reader festivals as well? Hint, hint!
Love that I have my kindle and am a part of this new wave of creativity that includes YOU!
Peace, Julie
Congratulations Pam, and God Bless!!! The motto hold true -- no woman left behind!!
ReplyDeleteI think Unpubbed Island Survivor is a cool idea -- do something like they do at Romantic Times, have a contest for unpubbed writers that will test basics like query pitch, first line, last line, etc. and let the Seekers and Seeker Friends vote. First prize can be a critique, either by one of the Seekers or a guest editor or agent. Possible? Otherwise we'll all just visit periodically and play in the sand. :-)
Congratulations again!!
I knew it! I never doubted it for a second, Pam. Bless your heart for waiting on His timing. He's rewarded you with not just any ol' publishing contract, but one to put your name in the anals of Tyndale House history as being part of a new imprint lauch.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't be happier for you, dear friend.
I've been happy dancing since I first heard the news.
Yeeeeeeeeeeee haaaaaaaaaaaaw!!!
And I can't wait to celebrate in person in St. Louis this year. :D
Anita Mae.
Joanne, the more the merrier!
ReplyDeleteCarol, that’s so sweet. I share my account with my friend in the nursing home. It’s great! What’s even more fun is if you read the same book simultaneously, and can talk about it.
Thanks Holly! Unpubbed Survivor Island is a great concept, isn’t it? Because if we stick with the pursuit of our dreams, we are definitely survivors, aren’t we?
ReplyDeleteGrammar Queen!!! Thank you for relaxing the rules for today!!! Whoo-hoo! I know how hard that must be. I can see your left eye twitching all the way from here!
Hey Mary, Love the bar=b=que chicken recipe.
ReplyDeleteDon't tell anyone but I saw Jack secretly burying a pig on top of coals and wrapped in banana leaves. He doesn't want us to know he's secretly planning a feast in honor of Pammy. He's got poi, shiskebobs with peppers, onions and teriyaki beef, I saw a huge platter of fresh fruit too but he's trying to hide it in my old hut.
Hey Jack she IS NOT your favorite.
I am.
Okay, okay okay. Can't blame a girl for tryin'
Yum, coconut cake! Goes great with the coconut water. :) And a secret luau? Shhhh. Don't tell Pam. She needs to be surprised. Hope that razorback I brought will be nice & tender. :D
ReplyDeleteHope, I'm sure it will be. Especially the way Jack fixes it.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Is he home grown?
So happy for you, Pam! Your post left me teary-eyed. Blessings galore as you continue with the journey!!!
ReplyDeleteTaking a deep breath from writing homework (That Margie Lawson is a real slaver-driver ;-) to take my turn in the congo line and maybe a spin under the lights for a dance with Jack...please????
ReplyDeleteBack later...
WOOHOO Pam!!!!!! Enjoy the trip off the island and try not to miss Captain Jack too much.
ReplyDeletePam! Thanks for the cake! It was delicious...just right for a pre-lunch buffet snack. Because as we all know, it's good to eat dessert first...
ReplyDeleteWe're in the middle of our school day here - the last week. Bittersweet because the older of the two boys at home is graduating from our homeschool at the end of this week, but a sweet victorious feeling, too. Is this how it feels when one finally gets "the call"? I hope so!

ReplyDeleteWow things really heated up this morning. I just stopped back by to grab some punch and then go lay in the sun at least in the virtual world. In really life I am headed back to work.
ReplyDeleteSay me a dance Jack!!

Oh Mary, Mary, what have ya done, lass?
ReplyDeleteNot me rum? A lass-less island AND no rum? What is a poor, lonely lad like me to do?
I'm feeling a wee bit famished, could you bring some western beef to the table?
Can you imagine the celebration in St Louis this year?? Couldn't think of a better city to throw a party...every night...in the to-be-announced area of the hotel.
ReplyDeleteWooHoo!!
Do you hear the drums on the other side of the island?
ReplyDeleteIt's CONGA LINE time!!
Come'ere Jack! Forget the rum!!
{{{{{hmmmmmmm}}}}}} shake your booty {{{{{{hmmmm}}}}}}}
What a gorgeous day to have all our Seekerville friends out on the island.
ReplyDeleteSoft breeze, good eats, sand volleyball...
sssshhhhhh...don't tell my boss...I've got sand in my shoe...
Barista Jack, seriously, consider writing a book.
ReplyDeletePatty, I’ll see what I can do about Tina’s hut. It's definitely one of the nicest ones on the island.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kirsten! We’ll keep you posted on when the book comes out. I can’t wait to see the cover! Whoo-hoo!
Does anyone remember Madam Zelda's predictions for 2011:
ReplyDelete1. Unpublished Island will finally become a Writer's Retreat as all the Seekers set sail to the mainland.
- she got that right!!!
2. Six more friends of Seekerville will sell.
- I'm sure we're getting close with this prediction too :)
Happy Victoria Day Canada!
Eva Maria Hamilton at gmail dot com
Whitney, Lisa, and Beth, so glad to see you all here!
ReplyDeleteSince it’s taking me so long to comment on each post (I’m multi-tasking), I’m sure the buffet line has been set up already. So grab something cool to drink and dig in!
Oh, mary, my mouth is watering over the chicken recipe!! Yumo!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to see so many lurkers come out to celebrate!! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThanks Meg!
ReplyDeleteAnd, Mel, that’s why I’ve mentioned CRUISE about fifty times! Lol
Rose!!! I’m so thrilled to get to wear a first sale ribbon in the same year with you, sweetie!
I'm getting a little worried about Thelma and Louise. I thought they'd check in by now! Must not be any Starbucks along the route yet.
ReplyDeleteCarla, thanks for stopping by. Love your books.
ReplyDeleteAlli, that’s the beauty of Seekerville! We’re a chatty bunch, and usually there’s a couple of Seekers around to host. Sometimes more than a couple, and let me tell you, it gets pretty wild when Ruthy, Tina, AND Mary are here!
Congrats Pam!!

Doc, so glad you stopped by. I appreciate you!
ReplyDeleteJan, I saw somebody sneaking off with a huge chunk of coconut cake just now.
Do I need to have Mamaw make another one? Jack promised to grade (or is it grate?) the coconut for her. She's got him wrapped around her crooked little finger!
Jean, we’ll have a meeting of the cabinet (behind the conga line) and come to a decision. Yikes! 15 women will come to a DECISION??? Oh, my aching head!! If we can manage it, we’ll unveil the future of Unpubbed Island at our Birthday Bash in October!
ReplyDeleteWalt, we might be able to afford a shrine to Ruthy in her old hut. Yeah, that would work. Lordy, that makes her sound like a prima dona, doesn’t it? In that case, let’s short-sheet Ruthy’s hammock while she’s away!
Pam, I think we'll need to ply Jack with rum before he would consider leaving the Conga line to grate coconut!
ReplyDeleteWow, Vince, thanks for the idea. Maybe we could hire you to help!
ReplyDeleteThe Fabulous Fifteen sounds intriguing. Kinda like a basketball team! lol
I'm so happy for Pam and am happy to be able to share in the celebration and the community that is Seekerville.
ReplyDeleteI've gotta go, the undead monkey escaped the Black Pearl in a bottle and has taken off with my piece of cake!
Yes, Eva Maria!! And you're one of the six who've sold this year!! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day at Seekerville!!! Congrats again, Pam!!
ReplyDeleteMelissa, it actually wasn’t that hard to be last. Sure, I was bummed when I’d get a rejection, but aren’t we all?
ReplyDeleteWhat would have been really SCARY would have been to be FIRST. Debby is my heroine! She braved the big, bad mainland and sent back messages in a bottle to all of us! I actually blogged about this in 2009 in a post titled Treasure Island:

Scarlet! Too funny! Hurry, go tell Jack. Maybe knowing a whole boatload of aspiring authors are about to be shipwrecked on the island will bring him out of his funk!
Oooh, Casey, thanks for the shout-out on your blog! I stopped by. That was so sweet of you.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Holy cow! No more unpubbed Seekers I gotta say that's pretty awesome! Congrats again Pam on the sale! I say you should reward all your readers with all expenses paid trips to the island, Kindles loaded with Seeker books, and all you can coconut cake. Oh yeah some hunky Pirates too! Have you all seen Pirates 4? It was really good and Unpubbed Island was featured at the very end LOL!
