We Have Winners
Not only do we have winners but we have the Seekerville Pitch Contest winners! Thank you to Love Inspired Historical, Associate Editor Emily Rodmell for judging and spending the day with us in Seekerville.
Here is a breakdown of the contest results.
21 entries! ! ! Congratulations for getting your work out there.
2 winners of a critique of a proposal
Joanne Barnaba (Seeking Patience)
Piper Huguely (A Virtuous Ruby)
5 additional requests for submission of proposal/no promise of feedback
Christina Rich (Yours For Eternity)
Melissa Jagears (Whichever Bride Stays)
Gayle Vanessa Link (Madeline’s Protector)
Jane Choate (Finding Faith)

ReplyDeleteCongrats to all the winners. It looks like it's going to be next week...besides the 30 lashes thing. LOL
XOXO~ Renee
Super Congrats to all the winners!
ReplyDeleteWOOHOO!
And those who can send their proposals in - wowzers! Makes me wish I was targetting LIH!
Saddened though that the party is almost over.
Ah well. Life goes on!
And so does Seekerville - the Town [something about that makes me think about Seekerville - the Musical with Julie leading all of us in 'A Kiss is just a kiss...'].
Oh brother. Must be late.
Time to hit the hay! ;)
Happy Birthday Seekerville!
Insert "fun" between "going" and "to" in the previous comment. Typos are a sign I need sleeeeeep! :-P
ReplyDeleteXOXO~ Renee
What a birthday celebration!!! Congratulations to all the winners!!
ReplyDeleteHere's da coffee! A row of big urns.
ReplyDeleteOh, goody, I get another book. Book worms love books!! Thank you, Glynna.
Congratulations to so many winners.
And thanks for the links.
A wonderful month rolls on....and on...and on.
Helen
Woohoo, I love it when I win, LOL.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to enjoy my time here in Seekerville because come 11/1... it will be all NaNoWriMo here at the desk. I might even unplug my internet connection to keep my honest =)
I've really enjoyed Seekerville's birthday party and the chance to win so many great prizes, but Debby Giusti gave me the best prize--suggesting I read The Artist's Way.
ReplyDeleteLike a lot of writers I have more than my share of angst--okay, negativity--but I never realized how much that negative voice quenches my creativity.
Debby, heartfelt thanks for giving me a hand-up to work with my creativity instead of against it.
Warmly,
Ann_Lee_Miller[at]msn[dot]com

YAY! I'll be tweaking and primping and pruning and... I have to check the list again.
ReplyDeleteDebra, congrats on the Kindle touch! bet your heart just about stopepd the way mine did when I saw my name next to the printer prize... *whew* Seekerville rocks!!
Wow! What a week we've had. Congratulations everyone. I'm excited about my wins too! Thank you so very much!
ReplyDeleteI'm hate to see the Birthday party end tomorrow. But then again,at Seekerville there's always a party going on! Fun! Fun! Fun!
Have a blessed day!

Congrats to all the winners! I am so sad this birthday month is winding down. It's been so much fun.
ReplyDeleteNext week looks like another great line-up of blogs.
Congrats, all you winners. : ) Thanks for a great month long, b-day bash, Seekerville.
ReplyDeleteHaha. You mean business, Nancy. I'm so happy for you! I think my goal is just to finish my WIP maybe in time to enter the Golden Heart NEXT year. lol. I hope that would give me plenty of room to polish. I have finally learned (though I suspected it all along) that I am NOT a fast writer. Sigh. NaNoWriMo might be just what I need! Maybe I'll do a JaNoWriMo in January! Or, even a DecNoWriMo on my Christmas break! Who says it has to be a four-week long thing? I'll take whatever time to write I can get! I could probably get a lot accomplished in three weeks if I would just put my nose to the grindstone.
ReplyDeleteGood luck, Nancy! I know you'll go above and beyond to be successful at this year's NaNoWriMo!
Grabbing coffee!
ReplyDeleteOh, do not be sad to kiss the birthday month goodbye, my friends....
Write. Write. Write. For those of you plugging yourselves into NaNoMo, you know that November is your get-ahead-of-the-crowd month because going into the holidays STRONG is huge in this biz.
So excited to see all this stuff happening, and huge congrats to the finalists in BOTH CONTESTS!
And stay tuned because you never know when we might be pulling a rabbit out of the hat.
(I actually DO NOT HAVE a rabbit in a hat, it's simply a mix of terms)...
SUPER WE, Tina! And congrats to ALL the winners! Looking forward to next week- hoping I have time to get over here, since I AM NaNoing (for the first time - shiver shiver). Getting revved up! The birthday celebration has been AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteComing back later, but wanted to say congratulations to all the winners! So exciting! Happy Sunday, all!
ReplyDeleteWooHoo! What a party!! I know everyone is excited about their prizes.
ReplyDeleteEven though we've had fun we have learned a whole lot - I know I did.
The party's almost over??? It seeems like it just began!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to all the winners!
Happy Birthday Seekerville!! Sad the party's almost over :( Sure ya'll don't want to keep at it :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats to all the winners! Have fun submitting those proposals!
Congrats to all the winners...am happy to be one! Thanks for a wonderful birthday month...and a month of learning!
ReplyDeleteWow! What a way to start my morning! I'm a finalist in the Read Me! Query Letter Contest! I'm actually over 16 hours away from home while my sister and I sing at 3 little churches over the weekend, and I stopped to check Seekerville while we're waiting to get into the church this morning. I'm all psyched up and ready to praise God this morning!
ReplyDeleteThank you for all the good information this month and the fun contests. I feel like my OWN birthday has lasted all month, too. Happy Birthday, Seekerville
Well congratulations Clari!!! To you and all the PITCH and QUERY contest writers. This is a great opportunity.
ReplyDeleteWe are thrilled for you.
The best part (IMHO) is these contests didn't have an entry fee.
Tina the penny pincher
Whitney that's the spirit. Learn to play to your strengths.
ReplyDeleteWay to go!!!
Aly/Ann what heartfelt words. Debby is totally the best isn't she?
ReplyDeleteSomeone at my house made maple scones today! Passing them along to Seekerville.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day. And there are a few folks we have not been able to reach for prize recovery. So if you are here today please also check last week's prize list and make sure you claimed yours.
10/23 Weekend Ed
Happy Birthday! What a week. It got some crazy :) Congrats to the winners! Who knew it was possible to learn so much while having fun?
ReplyDeleteCongrats to all the winners! what a great final weekend blast to the Birthday Party - and it isn't even over yet.
ReplyDeleteOf course, every day on Seekerville is a party - we'll just find another excuse on Tuesday :)
Ruthy, you had the best advice: write, write, write. Or edit, edit, edit! What a great way to spend our time.
Mega Congrats to all the winners and best of luck to all those sending in proposals!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great party Seekerville!!
--Kirsten

Thanks for a fun week! I've learned a bunch and gotten inspired to keep on keepin' on. Off to write right now. :)
ReplyDeleteLyndeeH
You call the 30th devil's night in Canada? That's interesting.
ReplyDeleteWe call it All Hallowed Eve where I grew up.
Interesting.
I canNOT believe the month is almost gone! That just happened way too fast. But I'm so thrilled I got to take part in different ways. ;)
ReplyDeleteI love that you guys are able to hold contests with editors, that is awesome! And thanks to your editors that are willing to do it. :)
I *think* I might be that Casey H...but I'm not sure. I guess I'll email and find out. ;-)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SEEKERVILLE!!!!!
I haven't said that near enough this month. So I'll say it again:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SEEKERVILLE!!!!!
Special congrats to Debra M. for winning the Kindle!!! I am trying to not be jealous!! lol I do want one!
ReplyDeleteDevil's Night?? Creepy!! Makes me want to stay in!
ReplyDeleteI'm so easily scared I don't even watch kids's shows that have spooks in them. I wasn't that way until I had my first child. Weird!!
But, like Tina, we call this All Hallow's Eve and celebrate it as the day leading up to All Saints' Day. Whoo-hoo! Now that's a party!!
Just think of all those saints in heaven rooting for us as we are 'staying the narrow path'. So many friends we'll only see after we leave this life.
Congratulations to the many, many, many, many, MANY, MANY winners!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a week in Seekerville!
Happy Sunday!
OH - and just in case you might want to win a gift pack from me - check out www.maythek9spy.com. Sign up for May updates to be included in the drawing Nov 1st!

ReplyDeleteOhhhh and great cover, Janet!!!! Can't wait to read it!!!!!!!!
BTW,remember everyone still has a chance to be on the party clean up crew. Have mop will travel.
ReplyDeleteHi Aly,
ReplyDeleteI was thrilled to read your comment. So glad THE ARTIST'S WAY is helping you jail the Negative Voice! We have enough negatives in life...we don't need to create more!
Don't forget the positive affirmations!
I can write!
I can write!
I can write!
YAY, Aly! Keep us posted on what's happening with your unleashed creativity! All good stuff, I'm sure.
Hugs and lots of love!
Congrats to all the winners! Thanks for submitting your pitches and query letters...without submitting you wouldn't have won!
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks to all our faithful villagers who stop by each day and make it all so much fun.
We are a family, and I love each of you.
Enjoy this beautiful day...sunshine in Georgia. Leaves in full color. Gorgeous.
Beautiful Sunday in Seekerville!
ReplyDeleteA big congratulations to all Winners!
Thank you SO MUCH for this wonderful opportunity and everyone's sincere congrats. My first 3 chapters of SEEKING PATIENCE, my inspirational Regency, is on its way to NY!
ReplyDeleteI'm thrilled to be one of the 2 winners chosen for a critique and a proposal. :)
Josie, we are thrilled for you as well!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat? Like Are You Serious. This Debra Marvin? I'm hoping it's me because I am crying and the dog is looking at me funny.
ReplyDeleteI've been reading ebooks on my ipod which I love and having hand pain from having to scroll so often. And Text-to-speech may mean I get more than two books a month read!
Are You Serious?
Oh this is too much. My birthday is in October along with Seekerville and I couldn't be happier. Christmas came early (okay no remarks from you folks who had snow in October!)
Thank you Thank You THANK YOU!!!!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations to all the winners!
Congratulations to ALL the winners!!! And this coming week looks like another great one with super postings. Please enjoy the cupcakes I brought---each one is decorated with an icing "yellow jacket" on the top - - in honor of our Georgia Tech team beating Clemson last night---WOOHOO!! ~ Hugs, Patti Jo :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Debra Marvin! I'm so excited you won the Kindle Touch! How wonderful! I'm still hoping I might get one for Christmas, although that would be a Christmas miracle! Ha!
ReplyDeleteAnd I am excited that Angela Bell and Faye won a copy of my book! Woohoo! I will send it to you just as soon as I get my author copies.
It's been a great birthday month. I hate to see it end. Yay, Seekerville!

ReplyDeleteJanet, your new book cover is FANTASTIC!!! Oh man, lovely

How exciting!!
The comments are making me weepy. I think we'll need the mop to dry up my tears.
ReplyDeleteDebra, I think it is so awesome how God orchestrates things. Congratulations on winning the Kindle. I love mine.
Thank you, Seekerville, for the wonderful support, education, the awesome opportunities to get our work in front editors, and the friendship!

Hurray! Congrats to the winners. I'm looking forward the line-up next week :)
ReplyDeleteTina, Einstein, and a wet noodle?? Now I'm dying to know what that post is going to be about. What a hook!
ReplyDeleteJanet, the new cover is so beautiful! Gotta love that pink hat.
Congratulations winners!!!
Congrats to all the winners! It has been a great month! What fun to have a birthday last all month! Most people just get a day but Seekerville got a whole month! Congrats to Debra for winning the Kindle. Way to go! It looks like another great week coming up though. I'm still crossing my fingers for the Netbook. I sure would like one! Keep on doing what you are doing, ladies!
ReplyDeleteValri
Wowsers! What a lot of winners! Congratulations one and all!
ReplyDeleteAnd I LOVE Janet's new cover!! Those historicals have really started having some stunning covers. Good covers definitely influence one to buy the book!!
Another fantabulous week at Seekerville. Looking forward to next week.
Until then, happy writing.
Cheers,
Sue
Seekers, thanks again for a wonderful month. I've learned so much, and it's been a blast to read all the comments and "get to know" people a little better. :)
ReplyDeleteI've got a mop--set me to work (and remember to feed me chocolate!)
Crap.
ReplyDeleteI'm getting choked up. I know, saying crap is not classy, but it's perfect for when you guys get me all gooney...
Our purpose here is give back and pay forward.
We're just tickled pink that you're along for the ride of our lives. Can I hear an AMEN????? I love that we get to ride together. And NO CAB FARE, LOL!
Tomorrow is our All Soul's Day... We have a prayer remembrance book and for two weeks people have been jotting down names of people/families they want lifted in prayer.
And then All Saint's Day on November 1st.
This soul is just grateful for every one o' youse! And Casey, we love that our editors and agents are willing to do contests off the cuff like this. They rock. We are so blessed!
Hey, I've got M&M's! I'm putting them in a BIG BOWL and we can all share.
That's how nice I am.
Oh just what I need, chocolate! I've had me a day today. It all started when I had a freak accident in the bathroom at church. No it's not what you're thinking but that's all I care to share.
ReplyDeleteI blame it on the doctor. He put me on new blood pressure meds yesterday that made my skin crawl and put me into a deep sleep. From what I'm told I had conversations that I do not recall. One of the twins was standing in the corner. Her dad asked why and she said I told her too. I do not remember that. Poor baby.
Not taking anymore of those pills!
Thank you Seekervillers for a fabulous month. How do you do it , provide so many opportunities all month long? This has to be one of the best sites for the unpubbed on the web. Happy Birthday and thank you.
ReplyDeleteGayle Vanessa Link, aka Vanessa Riley
Vanessa,
ReplyDeleteI hope this takes you one step closer to publication!
Thanks everyone for your congrats. I'm still smiling and looking pretty goofy about the new toy coming my way.
Thanks again Seekers!
I'll tell you the secret to how we do it. We think about what we wish had been available when we were on the island and then we pray and make it happen.
ReplyDeleteVanessa Riley. Mark my words - that will be a household name before long. The woman knows how to write!
ReplyDeleteAmen to Tina and Ruthy!
ReplyDeleteM&Ms? Yummy!

ReplyDeleteOkay I realize now that the previous comment was a bit insensitive to those who live in the NE area and were affected by the snow. Please forgive me.
ReplyDeleteDoes Seekerville or Yankee Belle Cafe have any winter recipes? I definitely can go for something to take my mind off the chill while I'm sitting on my couch with my book. ;-)
XOXO~ Renee C.
Wow I just googled the side effects of lisinopril. Turns out I was having an allergic reaction and should have sought immediate medical attention. oops

ReplyDeleteI"m baaaack!!! I was out of town over the weekend visiting our son for our last (sob!) parent's weekend. He'll be graduating in May. So it was a little sad.
ReplyDeleteBut I'm back here to all your smiling faces!
Congrats to all the winners, especially to those who won pitch or query critiques/requests. It takes courage to put yourself and your writing out there, although the warmth and support of Seekerville help to make it easier.
