This has nothing to do with Seekerville except that she pops in occasionally...
ReplyDeleteBut MY OTHER MOM'S NEW BOOK IS *LIVE* ON BARNES AND NOBLE!!!!
Wake Up Your Muse by Jan Christiansen
WOOHOO!!!!!
Er. /clears throat/ Right.
Dignified.
This is the mainland after all [I'm just visiting, you know, I'm living on Unpubbed Island still. I'm in Audra's old hut at the moment.]
Congrats to all the winners!!!
I'm a bit nervous about the new sheriff in town. Pepper and I are gonna be blamed for lots of things that are Casey's fault.
And I should probably go to bed. I have a long week ahead of me. But I get Mazzio's! :D Looks like a great week here too!
In honor of Sunday, donuts for everyone!
I well relate. I have a terminal week ahead of me. Good thing I sleep well on planes. But can I sleep while Mary drives????
ReplyDeleteWow, what an amazing week you have planned for us. This whole month has been great. It's really flying by isn't it? Happy Birthday!! What a great party and congrats to last weeks winners.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to Emily Rodmell's visit. I love how she takes time to answer questions on twitter and at LI. Now to work on my pitch :)
So much excitement around Seekerville this week! Makes me want to lay on the beach all day with my laptop as I make plans for NaNoWriMo!
ReplyDeleteJan, congratulations on the book. It looks great. And love that Debi O. did the artwork!@!
ReplyDeleteoh yummy, donuts. I better head to bed too before I break the board. I've already had to delete two post one because a typo was to big to let slide and the other a double post. To sleepy to be posting. zzzzzzzzzzzzz
ReplyDeleteCoffee duty has been tended to. It's a special Sunday blend.
ReplyDeleteNow I have to go back and reread all the goodies coming up!!!
Helen
Lined up Saturday's babysitter today. Did I ever mention my Mom rocks!
ReplyDeleteTulsa bound! WoooHooo!
I'm off to prepare a post for my own blog. Before I go to bed.
Congrats to all the winners.
Next week looks amazing.
Thanks, Tina. I'm exited that Wake Up Your Muse is going to be an official sponsor of NaNoWriMo this year.
ReplyDeleteTina - do you trust Mary to get you there safely if you're sleeping?!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds a bit risky to me!
;)
Wish I wrote for LIH but as much as I love reading historicals, I have NO DESIRE to write one! [So can the rest of us win prizes even if we're not pitching but commenting on the pitches that are here?]
And entry fee for GH?! That's a great prize too! I'm still trying to decide on that one but leaning toward entering...
And now, I'm really off to bed ;).
I have earrings on that make me look like a gypsy.
ReplyDeletePlease, I beg of all the gypsies who read Seekerville, do not write in to say how offended you are...as in...HEY, we do not look like you, Mary. We look way, way cooler than you.
(they have a point)
We had a great time, though. A great, fun day. Just fantastic.
TINA!!! I thought I was going to sleep while YOU DROVE.
ReplyDeleteWe need to make sure and settle on at least ONE of us staying awake. Preferrably the one behind the wheel.
LOVE the Seekerville billboard pics, Tina!! So cool!
ReplyDeleteWow what a lineup! You Seeker ladies have a knack for throwing a dazzling party!
I'm wondering... Will the pitch contest be limited to pitches for completed manuscripts like the "Read Me" query contest?
Natalie, anytime you submit to a publisher it must be a full manuscript if you've never sold a book before. Contest you can get away with buying some time between judging and announcements of the finalists. But our contests are direct to the publisher. Zero to none lag time.
ReplyDeleteSorry I'm late but I was watching Doctor Who LOL! Congrats to all the winners. Next week sounds exciting. I love Barbara Vey's blog so I'm especially excited to see her. :-)
ReplyDeleteXOXO~ Renee C.
Ok, thanks!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great line-up. I can't wait for the week to get rolling!

ReplyDeleteI love Weekend editions. There is something heart-warming about reading all the winners.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to all!!!
I don't know, Mary. I'm no gypsy, but those earrings are pretty awesome! I love big earrings. They always end up hurting my ears, but no pain no gain, huh? :)
ReplyDeleteWOW! I just kept waiting for the post to end, and it went on and on and on, then there were more prizes and then more links and... I'm so overwhelmed!
ReplyDeleteYay for Monday and Barbara Vey! Yay for Dawn Byrd and the YA market! Yay for giveaways!
And Carol, that book looks AWESOME. I have an Amazon gift card and I think it has to go there.
Mary, there were a lot of Gypsies in Warsaw when I lived there. Mostly very poor, very sad. I don't think they'll be writing in. But I saw some show was on in the UK that was about really rich Gypsies. Weird! Who knew??
Sorry about the last post. I hate to misspell anybody's name! Anyway, my question was...
ReplyDeleteTina, is Emily Rodmell a colleague of Melissa Endlich? This may be a dumb question, but would we be sending in a pitch that is from the same ms as our query in the contest? Or is that a no-no? Like querying agents in the same office...I don't have that many manuscripts to choose from...
Major congrats to the winners! Especially the Julie Lessman character one! =) I can't believe that we're in the middle of October already!
ReplyDeleteIf you entered the query contest with msc A do not enter A in this contest. Waste of everyone's time.
ReplyDeleteAnd correct. With agents and editors, you do not double query the same msc in the same agency/publishing house at the same time.
There are some different scenarios that work or do not work, but let's not get into that. :)
Love the great pics of the new site. Were those placed in real places or photoshopped in? Pretty neat.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great week ahead to look forward to. Looking forward to the upcoming posts.
I would have so loved to be at that book signing! How fun would that be??? Such a great group of gals. OY!!!!
ReplyDeleteLoving the donuts. Thank you, Carol!
Teeeeeena, Emily Rodmell is really coming and doing a PITCH contest????
Oh, I'm so in love with Seekeriville right now!!! I'm posting this over in ACFW... Running my FASTEST!!!!
Your booksigning looks like a lot of fun. The picture also shows that your are very busy!
ReplyDeleteOh, and by the way the giveaways are great. The Seekers are a generous bunch!!
ReplyDeleteJan, that's totally awesome, chickie!!! SUH-WEEET!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd Andrea, Tulsa??? You lucky bum! How fun will that be???? Darling girl, have a GREAT TIME!!!!
Okay, I posted Emily's visit on the ACFW loop... check!
Ate donut... check!
Drank coffee... check!
Loved Connealy's hair in photo...check!
:)
Great WE, TEEEENSTER! LOVE IT!
Congratulations to all the winners!
ReplyDeleteLooks like another great line-up for Seekerville this week. I'm looking forward to all the wonderful posts to come!
Wow, you all just get better and better with the promotions and prizes! You are such an amazing reminder to me that people working together can multiply their results in a phenomenal way. (I can't think of the mathematical term for it...) Sometimes I think that the real message of Seekerville is to let us know that we don't have to work alone. You all get readers/book buyers from your efforts and we get valuable information. It's a win-win. I'm sure both sides get way more, but just sayin' :)
ReplyDeleteSo Emily is only taking pitches for historicals, correct? I think the Read Me was for all the lines.
I'm realizing now that I should have counted one of my blessings yesterday as having clean water. Our town is on a boil order today. I'm not crazy about cooking, let alone boiling water just to brush my teeth. :(
Congrats to the WWIINNNNERRSSS!!!!! Looks like a FAB week next week.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, winners! YAY!!
ReplyDeleteLove the lineup for the week.
Absolutely LOVE Liz Curtis Higgs
another Happy Birthday to Seekerville
Mary,
ReplyDeleteIs it true??? Tina gets to sleep while you drive and not be your live navigation system?????
Somehow that doesn't seem fair to me. : )
AND just when you think it can't get more exciting around here...Publishers Weekly's Barbara and Harlequin Editor Emily!
Congrats to all the winners! The line-up looks great for the next week of Seekerville's birthday bash.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Sunday!
Phew -- I'm dizzy trying to catch up on all these birthday festivities. Think I'll just have to crash the party mid-month and try to keep up from here on in.
ReplyDeleteGreat weekend edition. :-)
Congrats to all the winners! Congrats to your Mom Carol! It looks like the upcoming week is going to be very busy. Not only on Seekerville but this month is coming to a close and I have a bunch of things to due for work. Hope everyone has a great day!!
ReplyDeletefantum2004ATsbcglobalDOTnet
Congratulations to all the winners!!!
ReplyDeleteLove all the pics!
-Amanda Barratt
Congrats to allll the winners!
ReplyDeleteThe Seekers are so generous. :)
And YAY for Jan!!!
Wow! Next week looks like it's going to rock!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to all the winners and have a great weekend!
--Kirsten
Congratulations to all the winners! How exciting. :)
ReplyDeleteThis coming week looks exciting, and I'm looking forward to learning more from you all.
Mary and Tina, hope your time in OK holds lots of fun! Knowing you (the little that I do), I'm sure laughter will abound.
The picks of the mainland are fun! Great work, ladies.
Congrats to all winners! Thanks, Tina, for lining up another great week at Seekerville. Looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteHA, Jackie! I wish I did the line up. No actually I do not. I only write up the post. We are all delegated now that we are four-years-old.
ReplyDeleteMissy and Ruthy collect the info for the calendar. Glynna watches the calendar for holes. We all have our little tasks to keep the village running. :)
Welcome back, Kav!!! You have been missed.
ReplyDeleteCathy Shouse, what happened to prompt water boiling in Indiana??
ReplyDeleteWow! What a great WE - again! Congrats to the winners! So many prizes, so little time!
ReplyDeleteNext week's line up is amazing! Hope work is a little less busy so I have time to peruse at leisure! Thanks to all who get these great people lined up!
Right now the bags under my eyes are all Julie's fault! I'm reading "A Heart Revealed" and I CANNOT put it down! What an awesome book!!
Off to do laundry before the story lures me back in!
Cheers,
Sue
Congratulations winners! Looks like next week will be another fun week!
ReplyDeleteEva Maria Hamilton at gmail dot com
Yay! I won Ruth's contest!
ReplyDeleteSo excited that I won!! Thanks Ruth!!!
ReplyDeleteSo excited to read next week's blogs!
ReplyDeleteWe all have our jobs????
ReplyDeleteDid Teeeena just say that????
Um, yes. Yes, we do. BUT SHE WATCHES LIKE A HAWK TO MAKE SURE WE DON'T MESS UP!!!
(Us meaning ME!!!!)
Yes, I mess things up on a regular basis and Tina covers for me.
Because I don't mean to mess up. My mind just kind of wanders... Like to crepes.
Wouldn't crepes taste SO GOOD right now?
So who can think of dates and calendars when they're envisioning crepes? NO ONE, RIGHT????
And that's what Teeeena has to deal with.
Every day.
God bless Teeeeeena.
Tina,
ReplyDeleteIt's just a water boil order in our town, something to do with the water pressure when they cleaned the water tower. :(
Hey, Is Emily only taking pitches for LIH or also LI?
Thanks.
Cathy
CONGRATS to all the winners!! And again a huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all the fabulous Seekers, and also a huge THANK YOU to all the amazing, informative posts you have done and continue to do---I am truly learning so much (and enjoying lots of laughs too) by visiting Seekerville. ~ A special thank you to Tina for the great WE (as usual). Even though there's been lots of food and birthday cake, I brought along some blueberry muffins and peanut-butter cookies for an afternoon snack---ENJOY! ~ This coming week looks wonderful with more amazing prizes---thanks again for all you do, Seekers. ~ Hugs from Georgia, Patti Jo :) p.s. Just have to add that it's a GORGEOUS day here in my part of Georgia---sunshine, bright blue sky, birds singing---Thank you Lord!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is Love Inspired Historical Day. So this is only for Historical pitches.
ReplyDeleteWHAT a weekend edition! My goodness, you gals have a lot going on right now, but you sure know how to throw a party!!
ReplyDeleteAnd shoot, I have to work on Thursday. :( I'll have to try and stop by first thing in the morning and again that evening. Have fun!!
Happy Sunday. :)
Tina, You CAN NOT sleep if Mary drives like Ruthy.
ReplyDeleteYeah Kav, I agree with Tina. It is wonderful to have you back. smiling
ReplyDeleteI am loving getting to know all of you so much better. Reading is a passion of mine and I am so excited by all the books that you are writing!
ReplyDeleteJoy
jumpforjoy@gmail.com
I love parties in Seekerville. I love having friends that don't think I'm a loon...
ReplyDeleteMost of the time.
Ashley, congrats! :) And then feel free to tell us if Matt Cavanaugh (the reformed Bad Boy Hero of Yuletide Hearts) isn't about as DREAMY A MARINE AS YOU CAN GET YOUR HANDS ON!!!
I get goofy THINKING about that guy.
So stinkin' cute! :)
Carol's donuts are gone...
How 'bout Sunday ball game sandwich makings? Sliced beef, ham, turkey, cappicola, salami...
Cheese, an assortment (of course!)
Lettuce, tomato, oil dressing, mayo, peppers (green, yellow, hot and sweet) onions...
Mustard....
And the best rolls on Earth from Martusciello's bakery.
We're in!
Sandra...
ReplyDeleteNobody drives like Ruthy.
pshaw.
I'm a New Yawker. ;)
We just do it.
PATTI JO!!!!
ReplyDeletePEANUT BUTTER COOKIES! AND LOOKIE, LOOKIE, I HAPPEN TO HAVE HOME-MADE CHOCOLATE FUDGE FROSTING RIGHT HERE!
DIPSIES!
Congrats to all winners. Great party! csdsksds(at)gmail(dot)com
ReplyDeleteOoooo, GREAT "WE," TEENSTER!! Love all the elevator pitch articles -- how fun, which is odd coming from a woman who almost can't write less than a 500-page book to save her soul ... or appease her editor ...
ReplyDeleteSUPER CONGRATS TO ALL THE WINNERS THIS WEEK!!! YOU GUYS ROCK!!!
Congrats to JAN CHRISTIANSEN FOR THE SCORE ON B&N!!!
Oh, Teenster, trust me -- you don't want to sleep while Mary drives ... or maybe you do!! All I know is I've only ridden in a car where Mary was driving one time, but in the span of mere minutes, the woman managed to careen down TWO one-way streets the wrong way!! So ... YOU decide if you want to be asleep or awake ... :)
Hugs,
Julie
SUE MASON, I LOVE YOU, GIRL!!! Sorry about the bags under your eyes, but at least they're not natural, right???
ReplyDeleteLDK ... uh, yeah, major congrats to the character winner!! Now I'm just hoping and praying that "ladijo's" name isn't Latimer or Josaphat or Joab, you know???
Hugs,
Julie
I think Mary and Tina need to hire a driver so both of them can sleep. That would seem to be the wise option.
ReplyDeleteLooks like another great week in the all new Seekerville. Can't wait.
What a fun photo of the book signing! I wish I could have been there!
ReplyDeleteMary, that jacket looks so good on you!
Jan, congrats on your book! Carol, thanks for letting us know!
ReplyDeleteHmmmm. Could Vince drive? If I lived out there I'd offer, but last time I checked, we weren't in the same neighborhood. Bummer.
ReplyDeleteAnd congrats to the winners. =]
I think cookies are in order... will go get some. =]
Ok, I don't think I'll try for the pitch contest then. But the Golden Heart contest is looming... but it's SO BIG. And SCARY. I don't know if my ego can handle another round of contest judging!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm a little burned out on contesting for the year. I'll be rooting for the home team, though!!
Joy!!! You brought to mind THE SONG...
ReplyDeleteRemember THE SONG, folks????
Deborah Kerr????
The BIG DRESS????
Cute kids?????
Adorable bald and snarky king?????
"Getting to know you! Getting to know all abouuuuuutttt you!
Getting to like you! Getting to hope you like meeeee!"
Love the booksigning picture. I bet that was fun. I've never been to a booksigning but hope to one day.
ReplyDeleteOn my way to Yankee-Belle Cafe and look at their recipes.
Well the thing about the GH is you get no feedback. Only scores from 1-9.
ReplyDeleteYou ladies ROCK! What generous gifts and prizes! Congrats to all the winners!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to all the winners! Looks like another great week coming up! I really enjoy reading the comments people write!
ReplyDeleteValri
Congrats to all winners.
ReplyDeleteTina and Mary maybe you need a chauffeur so you both can sleep.
I won! I won!
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! The book signing was a blast! Rose, Lorna, and Mary, thank you for making it such a fun day!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Seekerville peeps!
Congrats Jan!!!
ReplyDeleteTina, thanks for the great WE. So much wonderful stuff to read and enjoy over the weekend, and what a lineup for this week.
Wow!
Can't wait for the pitch contest. What fun!
The blogs for next week sound fabulous. Can't wait!
ReplyDeletehmmm... will steve have x plagues in stock or do we need to get one from somewhere else before we start stalking mary nealy next week?
ReplyDelete;)
Tina, I loved Nathan Bransford's 10 commandments for a happy writer. I noticed there was nothing in there about reading one's reviews...
ReplyDeleteHm, no comments on the Golden Heart? Would an array of 1's hurt as much as comments? :D I'll have to think about it.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I feel like i've spent so much time trying to sell a book, that I've forgotten why I wanted to write. Good thing NaNoWriMo is coming! I'm going to write my heart out!
THAT'S BECAUSE IT IS ASSUMED YOU WILL NOT DO ANYTHING AS DARING AND FOOLISH AS READING YOUR REVIEWS!!!!
ReplyDeleteSneaking in before the day is over to say congrats to all the winners.
ReplyDeleteWow, Seekers, I get tired just looking at the lineup for this week. Tina sure does keep you all busy!
:)
How SWEEEEEEET it is! Cardinals to the World Series!!
ReplyDeleteRuthy, I'm tickled to death to have won a copy of your book, Yuletide Hearts--I'm such a sucker for Christmas book and can share it with my mom.
ReplyDeleteLot's of exciting things going on in Seekerville! But then birthday parties are always are ways great fun!
Thanks again for the book.

ReplyDeleteCarol! I didn't know Jan was your mom!!! OMGoodness! That's neat! I just thought you gals were friends. :D
ReplyDeleteHad a great time at the booksigning! Thanks Mary, Rose, and Erica for letting me join you!
ReplyDeleteAnd Julie, you should have warned me about the one-ways BEFORE I rode with Mary to Sioux Falls.
Just saying.
Woe! Where is everybody today? I went shopping and doing mommy stuff and came back expecting all kinds of posts and there are only a couple after my last post. Well, night all! See you tomorrow! :D
ReplyDeleteCongrats to last week's winners!
ReplyDeleteTina and all the Seekers, I'm starting to wonder how much goes into planning all of this. What an amazing month you've put together, you always put together! Thanks for what you do.
Congratulations to all winners!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to next week on Seekerville.
