Can you believe it's day 27 for Speedbo?

ONLY FOUR MORE DAYS TO GO!

Those of you who read PRICE OF VICTORY know that the heroine was a bicycle racer. You also know that racers carry a bottle of a glucose concoction to give them a boost for the final run for the finish.

So how about a boost for the finish to Speedbo? Here are some words of encouragement.

Then the Lord will guide you always and give you plenty even on the parched land. He will renew your strength, and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring whose water never fails. Isaiah 58:11

Some of you have been speeding along and doing well. I imagine you are now seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. You are seeing those filled pages and can hardly wait to get to the editing.

Way to go.

Hang in there.

You're almost there.

They that hope in the Lord will renew their strength, they will soar as with eagles' wings. Isaiah 40:31

Do you not know that the runners in the stadium all run in the race, but only one wins the prize? Run so as to win. 1 Corinthians 9:24

But along the way there have been distractions and we still face challenges. Maybe we want to get on Facebook or the Internet. Playing is always more enticing than work. I have to turn my back on pickleball and free cell. Perhaps friends have stopped by and have tempted you to go out to lunch.

Or shopping.

No temptation has come to you but what is human. God is faithful and will not let you be tempted beyond your strength; but with the trial he will also provide a way out. 1 Corinthians 10:13

So stay the course and persevere. Keep your mind on the goal and resist those distractions.

In his mind a man plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps. Proverbs 16:9

Some of you have had to deal with spring break. Those little darlings do need your attention. So we deal with it and squeeze in the time we can.

We know that all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

Some of us have had to face challenges and situations that weren't planned or couldn't be avoided. My Dad went into the hospital right as speedbo started. He received a pacemaker and is doing great. But sitting in the hospital turned out to be a great place to write. And it happened while I was home and could be there.

Cast your care upon the Lord, who will give you support. God will never allow the righteous to stumble. Psalm 55:23

So if you've made your goal.

Or not.

Do not despair or even think about jumping off the cliff.

Nope. Don't even think it.

Just think about all you DID accomplish.

Don't despair over what you didn't.

Fear not, I am with you; be not dismayed; I am your God. I will strengthen you, and help you, and uphold you. Isaiah 41:10

And ALWAYS call on the Lord.

Out of my distress I called to the Lord, and he answered me. Jonah 2:3

He will give you the words you need and the encouragement. He will guide you to the end of that novel. Promise.

May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting encouragement and good hope through his grace, encourage your hearts and strengthen them in every good deed and WORD. 2 Thess 2:16-17

I hope these words of encouragement will spur you on to the finish. And for the body, I have my grandma's large crystal punch bowl full of sliced oranges off my tree mixed with chopped walnuts and shredded coconut.

And in case Helen hasn't made the coffee yet, I have a large urn of chocolate velvet coffee, a steaming pot of hot chocolate and for those of you in the warm climates, a large pitcher of iced tea with slices of lemon.
