Winner of a Mary Connealy's In Too Deep is Jamie Adams. Winner of a Ruth Logan Herne book is Amanda Barratt. Winners of surprise packages are: Tina Pinson, Jan Drexler and Melanie D.

She will reward two of you for the gift of your time and your comment with a ten page critique and a copy of her upcoming delightfully sweet release: A Family to Cherish.
Friday: Join us as welcome back Lacy Williams with "Layering: a technique to get your manuscript to a publishable final draft." ReplyDeleteMelissa, you are once again cracking me up.
ReplyDeleteWe'll have to have a Scrabble showdown when we meet.
Noon at the OK Scrabble Corral.
I was going to go with Helen's tray. I didn't get as many words and unfortunately ran into one that is not publishable on seekerville. That is what I get for checking to make sure they were words! I must go read a Seeker book to get nice words in front of my eyeballs.

Oh, Tinas, now I have to quit. I didn't get NO. I didn't get ON.
ReplyDeleteBut worst of all, I didn't get HERO! ;-)
My brain has already headed to bed!
Peace, Julie
Oh, Julie, you are so cute.
ReplyDeleteTinas. That would be two Tina. And three would be what?
T-R-O-U-B-L-E
Yeah # 3 Tina would be trouble.
ReplyDeletebut a pair of them, isn't too bad.
I was so into the words, I didn't read the winners, and I'm one. How Awesome. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I was going to try and then I saw Helen, Melissa, and Tina's comments...
ReplyDeleteIt reminded me of when I went to a party and a friend pulled out her Boggle and said, 'Let's play'. Everybody groaned and wandered away. not because it wasnt a great game (it is, and they were ALL librarians) but because this friend was some kind of crazy Boggle-tastic champion who could get 50 words where normal people could find 20. Weird.
JULIE!!! HAHAHAHA! Now I'm trying to find out what the naughty word is!
Well I was all proud of my list till the comments loaded, LOL.

ReplyDeleteHere's my list...can't resist a word game and I bet I'm not alone in that here! LOL.
ReplyDeleteHow cool is that online magazine? How did I not know about it and how can they do it for free????? I'm a fan now.
Congrats to Debby and Janet! And on a side note I just finished Janet's short story in the Western brides novella from LI. Really good -- loved catching up with Callie and Jake too!
I'll have to read the rest of the news later on account of this being my first Saturday off in 8 months and I plan to pack it full of grocery shopping, gardening and writing. Woohoooooooo!

ReplyDeleteI got my library to order Nicole O'Dell's first book - Wishing Pearl. Started it yesterday and enjoying it so far :). Thanks for introducing me :D.
Wish I had time to come up with a list to make the rest of you envious but, well, I have a house to clean before family gets here /sigh/. Plus I'm not feeling great and my mind isn't working quite right...
Would much rather hang out with y'all. If youse all were my guests, I would be stressing myself sick...

Melissa, you either have an A-MAZ-ING vocabulary and love of science, or you got a little help. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't have time to come up with a list, but I chose the back tray, and the three words that I saw quickly were: hero, dreg, and horned.

ReplyDeleteThere's no three letter rule in Scrabble.
In Boogle it's a three letter rule. And when he was little, my son held us to it! Actually, a fond memory.
ReplyDeleteAh, see, never played Boggle. Too addicted to Scrabble.
ReplyDeleteGreat WE, Tina!! Thanks for all the great links.
ReplyDeleteAlso, congrats to all the winners! I'm astounded at the entries today as well. I'm TERRIBLE at Scrabble! (and Boggle). Strange, isn't it??

Paula!! Well done!!!
ReplyDeleteI am a little concerned that everyone's playing Scrabble...when they should be preparing for the zombie apocolypse! Tina did warn us.
ReplyDeleteAs for me, I don't have a flashlight, batteries, or bottled water ready, but I'm all set with Pop-Tarts. I don't know why I keep buying them every week. I guess there are some things you just can't risk running out of.
BTW, there are some master level Scrabble players here. Maybe there should be a Seekerville tournament!
Anne, I figure I'll skip the supplies and just call CASTLE to come help. He loves it all so!
ReplyDeleteWhich apparently is the correct answer because if I pretend the l is really an L then I can spell CASTLE out of the bottom tray.
ReplyDelete:)
POP TARTS and bottled water. Flashlight! I am ready!!!!
ReplyDeleteHAHA Jeanne T. I wonder when someone was going to call me on that! Especially since I said "the two possible words" I was kinda amazed I was getting away with it--or that you all are way too nice in refraining from calling out a lying, sneaking scrabble thief.
ReplyDeleteHint:It's the same reason why everyone thinks I'm a computer genius.
Yeah, I hate scrabble. I had help. There are actually 179 words possible in the Sinceta group, just so you know.
I think Tina is going to take away my 50 bonus points. :(

ReplyDeleteokay, i'm not sure where I missed it but weren't you going to post the list of shelf and correct owners this weekend? or did you do that at the end of the day?
There are some scary good Scrabble players on here. Do you all play Scrabble with Friends?
She did that at the end of the day Thursday Ms. Enthusiastic.

ReplyDeleteWinners, honorees, finalists, and word wizards -- what a community!
ReplyDeleteAnd what a weekend edition. The explanation of a catalyst was easy to understand -- even better, I am happy to report my WIP has one :-)
The birdhouses are cute but I dunno ... am I the only one who would have trouble cutting up a book? A book I like, I mean :-)
Hope everyone's having a good weekend.

Thank you for the 2 books from Cara that I won. Now I can mark off 2 from my wish list and add more. I don't understand why my list keeps getting longer. lol
ReplyDeleteSo many great books and new authors for me to read.
Congrats to all the other winners.
I shiver at the thought of cutting up a book. I don't even like to see a page turned down and try to read without damaging the spine of my books. I guess I am a little nuts about my books. lol
