to toast Friend of Seekerville,
Larissa Hoffman aka
Larissa Reinhart's First Sale!
I need some tea--or something.
ReplyDeleteI've reached the point in revisions where I think, "Do I go through it one more time? Or quit?"
And I've drafted a synopsis--but it seems so inadequate.
Just plain brewed tea, please. A tiny bit of sweetener, but no flavorings.
Helen
Congrats, Larissa!!!!
ReplyDeleteUm, tea?
Can't I just have Dr. Pepper?
I am sooooooo not a tea drinker. Of any kind.
But I will stand up as a TBL finalist :D. Very excited! And working on finishing edits now... :p Have I ever mentioned how much I don't like editing?;)
I'm a Touched By Love Finalist and a Fool for Love finalist again. So yay me.
ReplyDeleteAnd don't put me in for tea, I had quite enough of it the month I was in China! :)
On Ruthy's signing, um, what state? Unless it's really in Greece--that would be fun, but seeing that I've gone nowhere on vacation outside of visiting inlaws and parents for over a decade? I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to make it. :)
Well, actually I count ACFW conferences as vacation. Is that sad or what? Come on 2013, ACFW should be in Hawaii!!!!!
Firstly Congrats Larissa.
ReplyDeleteTea, what can I say I dont drink it.
In saying this I do have some really pretty tea cups. I have most of mums and back then it was crazy teacup sets. So none of them match but they are pretty.
I also have a tea pot with the milk jug and sugar bowl which were made during WW2 by some Italians in an intern camp in Australia where my uncle was a guard. They have the Australian' rising sun insignia on the front and used buttons from the uniforms on the lids.
And for Ruthy if she didn't see my post from today (yesterday) I loved the first episode of Once upon a time and am reading book 4 of the Men of Allegany (sp) series. read book 2 and 3 in the past couple of days and a third into book 4.
I am a huge fan of Tetley's Earl Grey tea with the drawstring tea bags. Yes, the draw strings are important! You must trust me!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm also currently in love with Harney and Sons Peppermint Tea. It's sold in Starbucks in green canisters. It's amazingly pleasant to sip.
Congratulations, Larissa, on your first sale!
ReplyDeleteAlso, congrats to Carol and Melissa for finaling! So happy for you!
About tea, I do drink it, but not as much as I drink coffee. I try to buy tea cups when I visit new places. So, none of mine match. I have one from Istanbul, Turkey, and one from Switzerland.
I'm beat. Good night. :)
Oh, that Ruthy! She thought you all her address in Rochester, NY memorized.
ReplyDeleteGreece, NY!
CONGRATULATIONS TO!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLARISSA!
Carol!!!!
Melissa, double finalist!
Helen you little editing diva you.
ReplyDeleteI love editing. I live to edit.
Congrats to the winners, and the FHL finalists, and Larissa! Seekerville is such a happy place of talented and awesome writers and readers. =)
ReplyDeleteI have no news to share. None that anyone wants to hear anyway, LOL
Nancy,
ReplyDeleteYou are always so positive and encouraging. It's folks like you that make Seekerville!
LARISSA!!!! Mega congrats to you! Aw, happy dancing for you in upstate New York, chickie!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAND I'm still behind on mailings, so if you're waiting for me, my goal is Sunday-Monday to catch up... I'm trying every which way to blame the post office for the delay, but no...
It's me!!!!
I'm part dolt.
That's no surprise, right?
Anyway, tea... My favorite one is Diet Snapple. Easy. Quick. Fits in my hand. I bring it to every single tea party and it's a HUGE HIT. I like the lemonade tea variety, but it's in short supply, so peach, raspberry or lemon are the most commonly found in Ruthy's fridge. ;)
Carol, congrats on finaling in Touched By Love! Yay, you!!!!
Learn to love editing, chica. Really. Really. Really. Doesn't matter how many contracts you have under your belt, when they say, "We'd like it THIS way", you smile, nod and re-write.
Might as well practice now, right???
Go for it, girl. I've never met an edit I didn't like! When it was finally done, LOL!
Melissa, I'm in upstate New York... outside Rochester because they won't let me IN Rochester. Something about past arrest record, I don't know, I really don't remember doing anything all that wrong. Not enough to tag my license plate with an electronic sensor... How cool is that idea???
RIGHT???? Electronic sensors embedded in cars to track the driver, very Big Brother.
Love it!!!
Melissa, congrats to you too! Touched By Love.... Awesome, chica! Keep it up, ladies, this is so exciting!!!!!
Jenny, I've got out of town family here so I missed your answer yesterday! I was going to go back and see if you saw it and LOVED IT!!!!
YAY THAT YOU DID!!!! (big grin in upstate New York because I know how fun that first episode was!)
AND HUGE THANK YOUS FOR READING THE MEN OF ALLEGANY COUNTY BOOKS!!!!
Oh, you make me humble because I know it's a long way off from down under to Northern Appalachia! :)
THANK YOU, JENNY!!!!!
Nancy, we always want to hear. That's why the chocolate basket is always full... We can commiserate the bad news and celebrate the good because we've all been on both sides of the street.
Sometimes on the same day.
Is straddling an art???? It should be.
And did Connealy say, "Amazingly pleasant to sip?" She's been reading Regencies... Can ya' tell???
"Amazingly pleasant to sip..."
Oy. Oy. Oy.
Ruthy,
ReplyDeleteI have now done the last 2 Saturday mornings at the bookshop as they have been so short of volunteers. last week I read some of Camy Tangs LIS and today about 60 pages of yuletide hearts. (thats after reading close on 120 pages yesterday afternoon of book 3). I had a break to play solitare as I was feeling a little to stuffed up to think. I ended up going to bed at 7pm last night and finished book 3. Tonight I feel even more stuffed up and think it will be off to bed without any reading. I love reading different areas and seeing we all have the same issues. My town is smallish 5,000 but the job market is not easy. I know a job will come but it will take time. But we face similar issues except the gun issues. So its nice to learn about new places.
(am wondering if my tour next year to historical places goes into NY State. I know I go got Washington DC and I know I go to Gettysburg which I am so excited to go to.)
On a side note. Next thursday is the big morning tea. Its Australia wide and its a fund raising to help fight cancer. People will have a morning tea and people will leave a donation. I know here the cancer support group is having a morning tea and asking people to take there favourite Teapot and there will be prizes for different catagories.
Yay, Larissa!!! I'm so excited for you. Congrats!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to all the weekly winners.
ReplyDeleteReaching for a cup of tea and getting ready to go to our monthly GRW meeting. Hoping to see lots of Seeker Villagers there!
Congrats to all the winners! And congrats to Larissa! That's wonderful news.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Melissa, Carol, and Larissa. And to the weekly winners.
ReplyDeleteI am a tea fanatic. I come by it naturally. My sisters and I split our grandmother, Lovely Mae's (yes, that was her name)tea cup collection and still ended up with over a dozen covered in violets, pansies, intricate designs of all kinds.
Even better, I married Man O who inherited his grandmother's tea caddy.
Now there is a match made in tea heaven!
Blessings on everyone's weekend.
Peace, Julie
Congrats, Larissa!
ReplyDeleteI start every morning with a cup of hot tea. I usually head to a comfy chair downstairs and read my Bible while sipping.
I love to try different flavors, but as corny as this may sound, my favorite early morning tea is still Lipton's. I sweeten it with Tevia.
Congrats to all the finalists!
Jackie
Congratulations, Larissa!
ReplyDeleteAnd congratulations to all the winners.
My favorite tea pot/cups are a Betty Boop set that my husband gave me. I'm a little crazy over Betty Boop stuff.
LARISSA, CAROL AND MELISSA ... YOU GO, GIRLS!!! SUPER CONGRATS ON THE NEW BOOK, LARISSA AND WHOO-WHOO, CM AND MJ ... YOU GUYS ROCK!!!
ReplyDeleteHAPPY WEEKEND, ALL!!
HUGS,
JULIE
Great news to start the weekend.
ReplyDeleteLarissa, Way to go. Congrats on the new book.
Carole congrats to you
And Melissa-double congrats.
Wow. Love all this excitement.
I'm heading off to Prescott to hear our Glynna speak at her local NARWA meeting. Are you jealous? smile
I'm soooo excited to see her again and because she is such a terrific writer I'm sure I'll learn lots.
Ruthy, I'm calling the bookstore and ordering books for gifts. You gave us the address but not the phone number. (585) 381-1250
Congrats, Larissa!!! And Carol and Melissa!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE tea. Years ago my mom gave me this "tea of the month" thing, and there was STRAWBERRY tea. Mmmaaaannn. Best.Tea.Ever
This week looks FABULOUS! WOWzers! Thanks Teenster!
Thank you, Tina.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ruthy.
Well in that case then, I got another rejection letter, although this one was personalized. That's a plus right? Said knowledgeable agent suggested civil war and Amish is what is selling right now. I can't write Amish, because it just doesn't interest me. I could write a civil war, maybe after I finish the western I want to write next.
My more exciting news is the hero in my Western folds origami. I saw that in my head yesterday and went, Really??? But he does, and apparently very well. I've already vetted the plausibility of that in research and it totally works. =)
Well Nancy, put that rejection in your rejection folder and remember that YOU ARE A WRITER!!!
ReplyDeleteYou should see my rejection folder.
Seriously the post I did called Contest Mood Disorder is based on the absolute truth. And an agent did keep my work for an entire year.
Contest Mood Disorder
And I have been rejected by the best. But..I am thrilled to be with an agent who is so supportive and proactive. Worth every single rejection.
Betty Boop and Lovely Mae and strawberry tea. I learned something new today!!
ReplyDeleteoops I did that wrong ...scroll to the VERY bottom of the link for Contest Mood Disorder.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Larissa, way to go girl....proud of ya.
ReplyDeleteI never drank tea for many years till they told of how healthy green tea is for you and I started to drink it and now I like it--little lemonade in glass and fill it up with the green tea, Healthy drink and good for ya.
Looking forward to next week and all the great post to come, thanks for being there and being so upbeat
Paula O(kyflo130@yahoo.com)
Thank you so much for the mention! Y'all are so sweet!
ReplyDeleteMy first critique was through Seekerville. I owe you a lot!! I can remember how excited I was to win that critique. I think it may have been the first time I ever won anything!
I've been at a soccer tournament this morning for my 9 year old & ready to head back this afternoon. Leading a glamorous life here as a debut author;)
Love you guys!
Thank you Carol! Good luck on your editing. Not a fun job but I love that feeling when it's done!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Melissa! That's awesome!
Thank you AusJenny, Jeanne T, & Nancy.
Thank you, Tina!! I remember how excited I was to win that critique and email with you;)
Thanks Ruth! I appreciate all your dancing!
Annie, Julie, Jackie, Rose, Julie, Sandra, Joanne, pol: Thanks so much for all your kind thoughts.
Nancy, hang in there. Keep swinging!
And Debby, you are the best! You've been such a blessing. Thanks so much!
I forgot to mention my favorite tea is cold Oolong. I got hooked on it when we lived in Japan and have been dependent ever since. My hubby says it tastes like dirt but I think it's delicious. Just goes to show you...
And for any of the Seekerville audience who writes mysteries, Henery Press is small but wonderful. I've had a great experience with my editor. She has my mystery, PORTRAIT OF A DEAD GUY, releasing August 28. Fast, but Henery Press has been wonderful to work with, very supportive with a firm hand in editing. And, God willing, I'll have a series on my hands. Working on book 2 now.:)
Keep writing everyone!
Pol! That's an Arnold Palmer..sort of.
ReplyDeleteI drink iced lemonade with black tea. Love it.
What??? No bon-bons, Larissa???
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, again!
Bon-bons melt at soccer games, Tina. LOL
ReplyDeleteBut will be drinking lots of tea!
I'm new here to Seekerville. Came here through the suggestion of one of my ACFW buddies.
ReplyDeleteThrilled to have found your blog, and happy to tell you about my favorite tea place . . .
Tea Lula!
Tea Lula is located in Park Ridge, Illinois. The shop is absolutely adorable, and the owner Sheila is an expert on tea and is happy to answer any and all questions.
You can even order tea online: http://www.tealula.com/
Their teas are reasonably priced and perfectly blended in a large variety of flavors.
Their tea is so good that every time my sister-in-law from Atlanta visits Chicago, she insists we make a Tea Lula run, even though she could order online now if she wanted to do so. :)
WELCOME A.J.!!!
ReplyDeleteTea Lula!! online here I come.
Thank you for the heads up.
I had just found Teavana and am going to order the rock sugar for SURE!!
And they carry ForLife tea ware. I love my own stump pot. I make chamomile each night before sleep in that pot.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Larissa!! That's wonderful news!
ReplyDeleteTina, I'm all about the Earl Grey when I drink hot tea, and I love Dunn Brother's Coffee Shop iced tea. I have no clue what kind it is, but it is de-lish!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'm going back to writing, since I'm on this writing weekend getaway. Ya'll should hop over to Mary Connealy's FB page to see some pictures of the AMAZING B&B we're staying at.
Thank you, Tina.
ReplyDeleteThere's a shop in the village here in midtown called "The Republic of Tea". I've never been in there but it looks pretty cool.
I'm not tea connoisseur. Unless its terribly brisk, or too weak, I can drink it. Sweet or unsweet.
But my absolute favorite is the ginger-peach bottled tea at Saltgrass Steakhouse. Totally worth the five bucks a bottle.
Well then you should stop at Republic of Tea, Nancy. They are the creators of the original ginger peach tea.
ReplyDeleteStarbucks used to carry Republic of Tea until they started coming up with their own Tazo brand.
Yeehaw! My internet is fixed -- does that count as exciting news worthy of Seekerville? LOL. I've been without at home for about a month and uber busy at work (slogging away running two book fairs because I have two schools) so I couldn't get online much. :-( So now I get to play major catchup this long weekend. Hooray for the nice cable guy who climbed to the top of the hydro pole and replaced the corroded something or other!!!! Not to mention giving me a new modem and thinking my dog was well-behaved. Snort -- that's just because he didn't arrive bearing a squirrel.
ReplyDeleteOkay -- way off topic -- congrats to Cara on her new book -- gorgeous cover!!!!! And to Larissa! And the finalists!!!! I'm doing a happy dance for everybody (but mostly me because I feel connected with the real world again!!!)
Why do I suspect Mary and Erica are doing less writing and more funning?
ReplyDeleteWelcome back to the real world. (the real virtual world) Kav.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kav & Erica! Doing my own happy dance!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited to have won Mona's new book. Thank you so much, and congrats to Larissa, and the FHL finalists.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Jodie Wolfe
I read the first part of this post and thought, that's easy. My favorite cup to drink out of is the lovely teacup and saucer set I won right here at Seekerville. In fact I was drinking out of it just yesterday.
ReplyDeleteThen I read down and discover I won something from Seekerville again! How lucky am I? Thank you seekers!
Mary, I have a canister of that Harney and Sons Peppermint tea right here on my counter, right next to their chamomille and lavender and their Winter White Earl Grey.
CONGRATULATIONS, Larissa! Lovely to come read happy news each Saturday.
Russia and Ukraine have amazing tea. Some of the best tea I've ever had was sold loose. It was some kind of black tea infused with rose hips, I think, and I had to put it in a wire mesh "tea ball" in my cup and pour hot water over it. I love drinking tea like that.
ReplyDeleteLove hot tea. Right now I'm on a peppermint tea kick, partly thanks to Julie Lessman, but I already liked peppermint tea.
WOWWEEE!
ReplyDeleteWhat a Seekerville week and WE! Congratulations Larissa!!!!!!
WAAAHOOOO!
and I'm so excited to have won Mona's book. Thank you!
Congrats to all the winners...
And I'm just sayin' - would love to be with Mary and Erica, having tea and writing. That just looks grand.
One personal fave story is having tea with Bedouins in Qumran and the tribal leader offering to pay my Dad 20 camels for me.
YIKES!!!!!!!!
I found out that Earl Grey Tea makes great cold tea.
ReplyDeleteIt was hot when I set it next to me.
Congratulations to the winners from last week, and the contest finalist. Melissa Jagears, that's quite an accomplishment!
Ruthy that's Memorial Day weekend. Shucks. I will be busy feeding the fam all weekend but I hope you have an enjoyable day with your book signings!
Good story, KC. So your dad said no, he'd need at least 40, right??
ReplyDeleteAnother great WE, Tina! Loved the link to vetting an editor. There's sharks in them thar waters!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Larissa!! First sale news always makes me dance -- in private of course -- wouldn't want to make frighten anyone, LOL!!
Oooo, TBL finalists!! Yay, Carol!! Yay, Melissa!!
What a great week!!
I heartily agree with Mary over the Harney and Sons Peppermint tea. Amazing blend and quite soothing : )
ReplyDeleteI don't know how I missed the announcement of Larissa's sale! Congratulations, Larissa!!! At least, if you have to be at a soccer tournament, you can smile to yourself at your delicious secret--that you are now a published author!!!
ReplyDeleteOkay, you got me. I went to the Harney and Sons website.
ReplyDeletewww.harney.com
Look at this!!!
Shown Above:
SoHo Gift (two tea tins and biscotti)
Our SoHo Tea is a beautifully delicious blend of black tea with chocolate, coconut and vanilla flavors, as well as amaranth petals, and our Green Tea with Coconut and Ginger is an exotic combination of green teas, coconut, ginger, vanilla and lemongrass which make a distinctive tea blend that is both smooth and spicy. This gift pairs these flavorful teas and increases the coconut experience by adding delicious biscotti from My Boy’s Baking: Coconut Almond drizzled with chocolate & Lemon Coconut Almond.
Price: $35.00
Yum, Tina. My daughter was right near their SoHo store today. I'm going to need to ask her to make a stop in there I think.
ReplyDeleteWant me to get you some?
I'll order it online. Otherwise you'd have to mail it. But lucky you to be so close.
ReplyDeleteThis is so exciting.
I stayed right by there at RWA last summer and didn't know it was there!!!!
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDelete(Sorry, deleted the first comment because of annoying TYPOS. Grrr)
ReplyDeleteWhoo-hoooo!!!
Finalists and first sales! I love this kind of news!! It helps me get over my jealousy over that cute bed and breakfast writer's retreat...
And now I'm booking tickets to go to both of Ruthy's book signings. What? You say flying from Oregon to New York just to be a groupie for one of my favorite authors EVER is... stalkerish? Fine. I'll stay home and mope.
I love tea. My father goes to a tea shop in Portland and buys all sorts of strange blends. Orange pekoe is probably my favorite. Not really orange flavored, that's just the name....
My favorite tea cup actually has a chip in it. I should make a mosaic table top to give my precious & sad china a new life. A friend did this & it's amazing.
ReplyDeleteA.J., welcome to Seekerville! And I'm checking out the tealula site right after I remove the mental image of Tina sleeping in a pot....
ReplyDeleteChamomile obviously makes one tired...
:)
Nancy, oh my stars, celebrate that rejection letter!!!! Especially if they used your name, LOL!
Really, truly, it's all part of the biz. No way 'round it. We get rejected at every level.
But that's okay because we're tough, right?????
Of course, right! (Tevya, Fiddler on the Roof, LOVE IT!!!)
Julie drinks tea?????
ReplyDeleteDid I know that, Jules?
Deb Marvin, I know.... Memorial Day weekend.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure why it was planned that way because so many of my local readers are out of town or doing family things.
We'll see.
If nothing else, the nice gals and guys on staff will have my company FOR TWO HOURS and cookies.
Pray for them!!!!
SOHO tea....
ReplyDeleteIs that like SOHO, NYC?????
I could like that combo, I think.
Buy it for me, Teeeeenster. I'll let you know how it is, LOL!
Okay, Republic of Tea has a great website.... So does harney.com....
I would not have known there were so many fun "tea" things around except that Missy Tippens posted about hers at the YANKEE BELLE CAFE
I am amazed that tea life goes beyond boxed Bigelow. I love this!!!
VIRGINIA!!!!
ReplyDeleteDO IT!!!!
:)
Not stalkerish at all, just think of it! You and me, alone with the staff of Alpha and Omega because Deb won't come....
No guilt, though, Debster... You just enjoy your fam and those BABIES....
brat.
Virginia, you can be with me in spirit.
:)
And oh my stars, Marybelle, I'm loving the idea of a table put together with chinked and broken pottery/china.
Do they sand the edges to make them less sharp???? DO TELL!!!!!
Thanks again everyone! And I've got one more tea recommendation: Lupicia Tea Co.
ReplyDeleteI discovered them when my family lived in Japan, but they are American or Canadian. Really incredible flavor combinations (my favorite was Paradise which had tropical fruit in it). If you're a tea lover, check them out!
Ruth, dear, that was MINDY who posted about her tea madness.
ReplyDeleteMy family loves all kinds of tea. In fact, we have several cabinets dedicated to storing our tea collection. Two of my favorites are London Cuppa & Irish Breakfast.
ReplyDeleteMy mom is a tea enthusiast. Her favorite tea is a good Assam. Loose leaf, of course. ;-) Growing up, Mom always allowed us to use her fine china, no matter our age, because she wanted us to know that we were more important to her than any material object.
dancerchick(at)cimexico(dot)org
I love that, Angela.
ReplyDeletePeople ARE more important than things.
Ha...
ReplyDeleteI'd have died on the spot, or close to it.
Can you imagine? YIKES!
Just goes to show you, totally different cultures...
Realized I didn't answer the questions.
Fave cup is a bone china one in the Faithful Friends series by Roy Kirkham.
Fave pot is really a tea kettle and I pour the hot water over the bag.
Fave accessories - spoon and my mouth! ha!
Fave tea - Stash Chai Spice Black Tea
Fave online store - ??
Fave place to stop for tea would be my screen porch.
What fun!
Oh, Stash Chai with a dash of vanilla liquid creamer....heaven!!!
ReplyDeleteUh, yes, Ruthy, I do drink tea as Melanie stated -- peppermint tea, to be exact and ... ahem ... it's actually point 8 of my "Chip Off the Old (Writer's) Block bog a month or two ago when I listed the benefits of peppermint tea -- aiding in everything from irritable bowl syndrome and vomiting ... to flatulence, diarrhea and diverticular disorders!! Now, really, how could you NOT remember that??? :) Obviously problems you never have, my friend, which is a good thing. ;)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Julie
CONGRATS Larissa!!! GO GIRL!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tina, for another great wrap-up. Love the teapot photos, too.
SO funny you'd turn the conversation to tea, as yesterday I purchased some from a sutler at a Civil War Days reenactment. I picked up a jar of chocolate chi loose tea!
My favorite cup is a little antique French cup and saucer in cobalt blue with gold trim. A gold rose is painted inside the cup. This was one of about a dozen teacups brought to me by my dh when we was traveling the world for his job while I was keeping the home fires burning. I've never used any of them, BTW. Just enjoy looking at them.
I don't have a favorite pot, but have two, one large enough for serving a group, and one that's a single cup steamer.
My favorite accessories would be the little strainers and steepers. I have tea-balls, a spoon and novelty steepers that feature seasonal weights on the end. (Not sure of the terminology).
My favorite loose teas include Chocolate, Strawberry Kiwi, and Russian Gunmetal. Bags would be Bigalow's Constant Comment and Spicy Chi.
I've never purchased tea online, but my favorite places to buy teas include from vendors at festivals, and at Sally Lunn's Tearoom in Chester, NJ. Sally's also bakes the most amazing Sour Cherry Scones. Out of this world.
Another favorite tea place used to be Hicks and McCarthy in Pittsford NY. They have high tea and the desserts are ymmmmmmy!
Ruthy, have you stopped there?
Fun topic, Tina.
I feel quite the slacker because you all discovered chocolate tea before me.
ReplyDeleteI'm taking notes on all the tea info. So many from which to choose!
ReplyDeletePeppermint tea is good for all that, Julie? Really? And I heard it was hard on the digestive track! I got it wrong evidently.
Nancy, love the cowboy doing origami idea. Lovely twist. Can you tease us a bit more about the beautiful Oriental gal who taught him how to fold paper?
Had fun yesterday at our montly GRW meeting. Sat next to Missy and across from Walt. Diana Shuford was there, as well. She's super busy with end-of-school work so hasn't been able to stop by Seekerville recently. She promises to see us more often once school is out for the summer.
ReplyDeleteWaving to Larissa, who has more soccer games today. Saw her at church and told her how great it was to see her announcement in the WE!
ReplyDeleteYAY, Larissa!
Welcome, A.J.! You're part of the Seekerville family now!!! We're so glad you found us.
ReplyDeleteKav, happy dancing in GA now that you're back online!!!
Shall we all meet in SoHo for tea?
Or join Mary and Erica at their sweet B&B? Are they really working? Hmmmm? I think not!
I love the picture of Mary and Erica! I envy you your writer's weekend.
ReplyDeleteTina, thanks for all the great articles. Where do you find them all??? I never seem to run across any myself.
I really like lattes, but at heart I'm a tea drinker. Earl Grey. Now that I live in Florida, it's mainly iced tea, unsweet. That's northern tea. Sweet tea might taste better, but think of all the calories. Better not.
Wonderful Weekend Edition, Tina.
ReplyDeleteTea parties are fun! I bought my tea cozy in Chinatown in SF. I have a collection of old tea cups. Earl Grey is my favorite tea. I tried Lady Grey at Epcot's English Tea Shoppe. My pot is English Blue Willow. This summer is Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee.
Wow, wonderful things to celebrate!
Congratulations, Larrisa, on your sale! Wahoo!
Congratulations, Mary M and Melissa, on finaling in Touched By Love contest!! And Melissa, on the Fool For Love final!! You gals rock!
Oh, Tina, they both did!!!! Missy's was first....
ReplyDeleteI forgot to mention Mindy's but I just sat in awe of both. If you scroll down, Missy's is beneath it.
Now I'm that way with building my own caramel coffee.
First the right K-cup.... Folger's Gourmet or Gloria Jeans....
Then a shot of caramel syrup into the empty cup.
Then Italian sweet cream or vanilla caramel creamer...
Heat for 30 seconds.
Stir.
Brew coffee into hot creamer/caramel mix.
If you mix up the order of events YOU RUIN EVERYTHING.
So I get it, just not for tea. But I loved those tea websites, didn't you???? Now I want to write a book about a tea shop.
Julie, thank you for jogging my memory! And my digestive tract.
ReplyDelete:)
How did I forget that notable post????
I'm obviously losing it.
Peppermint tea does sound lovely. And I've had it, but only from a boring bag.
I'm a dolt.
But I'm all over this idea of Chai with creamer. I love chai latte's.
Love, love, love them.
And frozen ones are high-calorie fun drinks to die for but delicious in the summer in NYC!!!
Grinning at Teeeeeena.
Hey, SOHO for tea sounds great. And I'm shopping in the vintage clothing shops there this summer when I go to NYC to annoy Zach....
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to have a new "old" look, LOL! So many cute things!
SOHO is such a cool gathering spot, but so many tourists on the streets... Like me!!!!
Hey, Lyndee, I just e-mailed Hicks and McCarthy to get put on their mailing list...
I've got book ideas about a heroine (or hero????) running a tea shop...
Would they buy into a hero running a tea shop?
NO.
BUT... heroine and cop hero... Oh my stars, book synapses are firing in my brain!
Yay Larissa! Congratulations on your sale!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteTea? My dream is to have a fragile, bone china tea service that I use every day for a refreshing mid-afternoon break of tea and biscuits.
(In my immaculate office, of course.)
But reality is my morning tea in my favorite stained mug. No office in sight.
Love tea! Whole leaf, Earl Grey when it is really fresh and good, and usually black. Sometimes I treat myself with a little milk and sugar free vanilla though.
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn,
ReplyDeleteGlad you stopped by Seekerville! I like Earl Grey...with sugar and sometimes milk.
Chocolate tea is wrong, just all wrong. That needs to be two separate foods.
ReplyDeleteIt's like....barbeque pizza. If you want barbeque, eat it. If you want pizza eat it. STOP COMBINING FOODS.
Drink tea, eat chocolate, repeat. Do not combine.
Congrats to Larissa on the sale!!! Whoo-hoo!
ReplyDeleteAnd to the TBL finalists. Carol! Melissa!! Who am I missing???
Tea? I like chamomille and vanilla chai, but I'm not sure it likes me.
I steam 1/2 milk and 1/2 water and then steep the tea in that, then add some stevia sweetener. For some reason afterward, I don't feel very good. Not sure if it's the steamed milk or the tea.
Maybe I'll try another one in the morning to see if it still affects me that way.
It's 10 pm here. I really shouldn't steep a cup of chamomille this late... should I? lol
Did it anyway. Enjoying my chamomille tea just before bedtime!
ReplyDeleteI'm late to the party but wanted to say congrats to the TBL finalists!! And to Larissa!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd now, I'm finally off to check Tina's fabulous links!!
Mary and Erica, I'm so jealous!!! Loved the photo.
Okay, now I really am off to check links. :)
