Very Informative... I actually entered a contest this week the EPIC contest. For Electronic Publishing...
ReplyDeleteHave recently entered two contests. Don't know if I'm ready for another.
ReplyDeleteI know, I know. You can't win if you don't enter. But I've only entered a couple of contests this past year.
ReplyDeleteMaybe after I finish the two projects I'm working on.
The coffee pot's all set.
Helen
Thanks for the contest update, Tina. I hardily recommend the Put Your Heart in a Book contest by the NJRW. It's been very good to me...
ReplyDeleteI am so thankful for these monthly contest updates!
ReplyDeleteBack on March's contest update, I think, I had previously decided no to do any contests beside the Genesis this year, but then when your update popped up, I remembered I had a certificate for a Fool For Love entry b/c I finaled last year, so I threw in my finished book last minute. (And then went contest happy),
but then....
I won . . . .
and the editor asked me for the full. . . ..
And
then....
Natasha....Kern.....just CALLED ME! When the papers arrive and I can find a pen in this house (must locate pink Seekerville pen before then) I will have signed with my dream agent!
Yaaaaay!
So, um THANKS ever so much for these, I wouldn't have gotten that call today if it weren't for Seekerville! And I'm NOT lying!
Thanks for the update as always!!!
ReplyDeleteThink I'm contested out for a while though.
[Who's going to be at the FHL meeting next month? Anyone?]
And now I gotta read Cheryl's Doctor's Devotion before I devote chunks of the weekend to writing...
YAY! again Melissa!!! Don't think I knew the editor asked for the full! That's great!!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a treasure trove from the beach!
ReplyDeleteThank you Tina!!!
Way to go folks posting before me... :)
I'm celebrating with Melissa!!!
That is THE BEST! Congratulations lady!!!
For my news, I Just hit "SEND" for the 2nd round of edits on my WIP. So excited! It's the sequel and May gets into lots of fun trouble in Paris!
So - I'll have a cup of fabulous coffee, thanks and I've brought some apple puff pastries. Yummo.
Melissa:
ReplyDeleteWay to go!!!
Heehee!! I had to pop in here to say AGAIN congrats to Melissa!!
ReplyDeleteI was praying all last week for you and was dying to hear whether you'd heard from her... but didn't want to nag.Like when hyou're going to have a baby and people keep asking, 'Did you have it?? Did you have it??'
Smiling hugely.
M-E-L-I-S-S-A!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!!
Woot! WOOOOOT AND WOOOOOOOOOTTTT!!
Melissa, I was traveling yesterday and missed your news.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! What an amazing feeling. Are you sill floating? Find that pen!
What a great contest update, Teenster! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI'm grabbing coffee... got me some grandbabies here for the next few days and I didn't even get over here yesterday to annoy CARA....
CARA!!!! Sorry!!!!! Xavier was running a fever and I couldn't sneak back. Shoulda done it in the morning....
I love contests. They do not always love me. I don't care. Loved or dissed, I know I'm destined to lose every contest I don't enter, right?
Therefore the law of averages says go for it, ya' only go 'round once in this life.
Gotta be big and brave and bold.
Oh, Melissa Jagears, I am so stinkin' happy for you!
ReplyDeleteHappy dancing in upstate New York!!! The neighbors are calling the sheriff, wonderin' at the ruckus!
You go, girl!
If you look north, you will see my toothy grin flashing like a beacon in the night. Except it's morning. Still... The sun is likely to reflect off my teeth, so it still works, LOL!
YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!
No guts, no glory. Way to go Seekervillians!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Melissa!
ReplyDeleteWe're all pulling (and praying) for you, you know!
After last month's contest update, I submitted entered three of the contests listed.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I was working on an entry for the Guideposts contest at the time, but I dug out a two of my short stories, and they are now entered in contests!
Good morning Seekerville :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats to those who've won!
Ganise
ROSE!! Way to get on it!!!
ReplyDeleteMELISSA J!!!! CONGRATULATIONS on joining those of us represented by the Natasha Kern Literary Agency! Be sure to have someone take your picture as you sign the contract with your Seeker pen!!! You're going to LOVE working with Natasha!
ReplyDeleteI see that The Golden Pen has an inspirational category judged by Love Inspired Senior Editor Melissa Endlich. It's this contest that I entered in 2008, won first place and a request for a full--and soon thereafter a contract!! It's a great contest because the judges can actually see your synosis and 3 chapters, just like a standard proposal.
Thanks for another contest update, Tina. Need to polish a couple of manuscripts and enter them *sigh*. ~ Hope everyone will have a wonderful weekend. I've brought a Georgia Pecan Pie to share for later on (unless you're like me, and can eat pie for breakfast, LOL). Hugs from Georgia (where we're expecting 108 degrees in some areas*gasp*), Patti Jo
ReplyDeletep.s. Just read Melissa J's post---WOW!!! Congrats on signing with your dream agent!!! ~ Blessings, PJ
ReplyDeleteMelissa!!!!! Wahoo!!! Congratulations on signing with Natasha!! I'm thrilled for you!!
ReplyDeleteGreat Contest Update, Tina! Love all the photos of shells. I collect them like a little kid. Have bought a couple of bigger shells. They connect me to happy memories and the beautiful Gulf.
Janet
CONGRATS, MELISSA!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, totally fantastic news!!!
I'm thrilled for you. Natasha is a dynamo!!! She wouldn't have taken you on if she didn't LOVE your work and know it would sell. Plus, she builds careers so get ready for lots of success. Hard work, too, of course. But the doors you've been pushing on are opening. YAY!!!! :)
Dancing in GA!!!
Tina, thanks for bringing so much contest info to our fingertips. You're wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Happy Friday, everyone!
Carol, I'm planning to attend the FHL meeting. You'll be there?
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing on how many contests there are.
ReplyDeleteThank you for putting this together. Interesting to see!
Jan

Oh, congrats, Melissa on the Fool for Love win and the editor request, too. :)
ReplyDeleteSorry not to mention those before in my crazed comment. LOL
Yay, Melissa!
ReplyDeleteNow THAT'S the way to roll :)
But one thing disturbs me about your comment - you have to FIND your Seekerville pink pen? Isn't it in a place of honor, far out of the reach of small people who might use it less than honorably?
Or maybe you just hid it too well...
Congratulations, Melissa, on your agent signing.
ReplyDeleteLots of contests out there. Can get overwhelming. The deadlines seem to fly by. But good news is lots of opportunity.
Congratulations Melissa!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info - contests can be so stressful but then it's over and life goes on - a little different from submitting a book proposal
ReplyDeleteDebby - No - but I'm a TBL finalist and need someone on the inside to keep me posted ;).
ReplyDeleteWe obviously need to send Melissa a pink pen.
ReplyDeleteKeep your eye on the prize. Today's giveaway is the Emotion Thesaurus. I can be persuaded to toss in a pink pen as well.
ReplyDeleteDebby and Sandra are attending the FHL meeting. They could text you the results.
ReplyDelete(text me too so I can announce it in Seekerville)
Is anyone a Finally a Bride finalist? They announce that at Nationals too.
Popping in to add my Congratulations to Melissa! Way to go!!! I'm sure it won't be long and we'll be celebrating your first sale!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the contest update. Still thinking about it...
Love to win the Emotional Thesaurus!
Have a great weekend! It's our Canada Day long weekend, so looking forward to relaxing! And editing! Happy early 4th to everyone!
Cheers,
Sue
sbmason at sympatico dot ca
The pink pen has been located. But if I win the thesaurus it might be a good idea to throw in another one. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd Jan, their reach keeps getting longer and they keep getting into new stuff that when I think something is safe.....
It's now on top of the bookshelf so hopefully it will stay there...I do have cats though.
Thanks for all the congrats, I'm excited and terrified at the same time, I think Mary Connealy was channeling that for me.
ReplyDeleteAHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
AHAAHAHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Congratulations, Melissa, for getting an agent!!!! I'll bet you'll soon be announcing a sale.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to everyone who entered a contest.
Happy Canada Day. So when I think of Canada Day I am transported to the start of a hockey games and the singing of O Canada. You have a really great National Anthem.
ReplyDeleteCute hockey players as well.
Excellent update, Tina!! Thanks for sharing. I'm inspired to enter one more contest now. :)
ReplyDeleteI love hearing all the good news for Seekerville.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Melissa on the agent.
I'll pass this month on the contests until I complete my curent wip, but good luck to all those who enter.
Connie
ps Yes, Tina, please give away another pink pen.
Super excited for you, Melissa! And happy you found the pink pen! =) Can't wait to see what God has in store for you! It's fascinating and a little scary when God starts opening doors. Stay strong.
ReplyDeleteHave any of you seen the book trailer for Jocelyn Green's Wedded to War? Just watched it last night. It's epic! I wasn't planning on getting the book until I saw the trailer. Wow! It's a mini movie in itself. I put a link to it on my facebook wall - www.facebook.com/ClariDees - and it's also on Facebook's The Book Club Network.
Hope everyone has a safe (and cooler) holiday week. Happy Independence celebrations!
Oh, and don't enter me into the drawing for the Emotion Thesaurus. I already have a copy =)
ReplyDeleteCongrats Melissa! That is so awesome.
ReplyDeleteHave to pass on the contests until I finish this ms for Emily Rodmell.
Soon hopefully...
Melissa, that's SO EXCITING!!! We now share an agent!! Woo hoo! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteMelissa already knows how psyched I am for her. Yay!
ReplyDeleteI have not entered any contests, but I like that the update keeps them in my mind.
I'd love to win the Thesaurus, and I can never have too many pens.
andeemarie95 at gmail dot com
Congratulations Mellisa!! That is so exciting.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone here reviews books for Booksneeze Cara's A Path Toward Love is up for grabs on the 18th. I'll be staying up till midnight on the 17th to make sure I get one before they're all gone.
Melissa has an agent! Her dream agent!! I am sooo happy for you!
ReplyDeleteSeems like every day there is something exciting happening here!
Please enter me for the Emotional Thesaurus. I've been wanting it.
Thanks for this great list.
ReplyDeleteIs the best thing to lick you wounds from the last contest or plunge into a new contest? (After fixing some things.)
I hope you all have a great weekend!
Jackie L.
Jamie - thanks for reminding me! Remind me again so I can stay up and grab it too?!
ReplyDeleteAnd if Debby or Sandra wanted to text me results, well, I'd be okay with that ;).
Oh, and my pink pen is hanging on my shoe rack thingie on the back of my closet door still in the loop of my name tag from conference. Saving it for something super special like an agent or contract.
ReplyDeleteI just mailed off my Beacon entry. Thanks for the reminder, Tina.
ReplyDeleteCarol, we'll talk! :)
Super duper congrats Melissa!
ReplyDeleteFriday. Friday. Friday is my favorite DAY!@!!!
ReplyDeleteMELISSA!! What wonderful, exciting, tremendous, fantastic, marvelous (it's stop now or I'll have to grab my thesaurus) news! A well-deserved accomplishment. Kudos.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to Tina P. with the EPIC and Debby with the Beacon.
K.C. Cool that the edits are in.
I just love checking in and seeing good news.
Tina, see what your contest update can lead to? :-)
Nancy C
I'm REALLY wanting the emotion thesaurus. PLEASE include me in the giveaway :)
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna be entering my nonfiction in Write Integrity Press's "One Hope" contest - hopefully in the next couple days, cuz the early bird fee goes up on Sunday.
Thanks for this, ladies!!
WAY TO GO CONTEST DIVA, Joanne!!
ReplyDeleteSure thing Carol!
ReplyDeleteWe can help each other stay up all night and be the first in line for the book :)
