  1. My favorite Einstein quote:

The most powerful force in the universe is compound interest.

  2. HA! Love it, Walt.

Of course not as much as you since you are a numbers guy.

  3. I'll have to find a quote tomorrow - though the insanity one is pretty good [this from the wife of a licensed therapist...]

    YAY! on winning a book!!!!!!

Awesome!!!! And congrats to the rest of the winners - and the friends of Seekerville [again!] who finaled in Genesis :).

  4. Congrats to the winners!

And excellent links for the WE!
    Thx Tina!!!

    Super quotes -
    Here's one: E = MC2

  5. ■When the solution is simple, God is answering.

    Cool, huh?!

  6. I think he said "God may be subtle, but he isn't malicious".

And I made an author page. *whew*

Thanks, Seekerville for giving me the boot to get it done.

  9. Hey, Tina liked me! She really liked me!

Yup, Sarah Ladd's post has boosted fb shares by at least $5 after all the Seekervillagers put up author pages.

    :)

  10. What a great way to start a weekend! I love surprises. Well, of the good kind. A book box is the best kind. Thanks.

Congrats to all the other winners.

I also took the plunge and created a writer page (mainly to goad Virginia into doing it). Redoing my blog next. But trying to figure out how to make it as pretty and exciting as Seekerville.

Love the smart, crazy haired guy because he said:

"He who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new."

Just thinking about that genius making mistakes gives me courage.

    Peace and happy weekend,

    Julie

  11. Love Wes, Tina. You are amazing. And I am so excited about Les Miserables with this cast. Oh. My. Gosh.

Congratulations to this week's winners, and a special shout out to Katherine Mahar, fellow New Yawker and history buff..or is that buffette?

    Happy June, everyone!

The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious.
    --Albert Einstein

and a P.S. If any of you get a chance to see "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" I strongly recommend it.

  12. "Any man who can drive safely while kissing a pretty girl is simply not giving the kiss the attention it deserves."

Doesn't that Einstein quote beg to be put in a romance novel?

Great WE! I always learn so much on Saturdays. Never heard of the film I.Q. and didn't even know Les Mis was being turned into a movie. What can I say? I live in a cave.

  13. Terrific Weekend Edition, Tina. Love the quotes!! Want to check out some of those links. But first, I've got to write, then attend a grandchild's birthday party.

    Happy weekend everyone!!

  14. Hey, Teenster, stellar WE, as always, and would you believe I have NEVER seen Les Miserable in ANY form??? Our pastor told us once that it has strong spiritual threads and I'm pretty sure after this preview, I WILL see this one!! Love Amanda Seyfriend and Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway, so sounds a winner already. Of course, Russel Crowe is not bad either ... :)

    Hugs,
    Julie

  15. Great WE Tina! Congrats to all the winners. I checked out the June Calendar - looks like a great month of bloggers. Seekerville's the place to be :)

  16. I related so much to Julie's short read. I think it will be a balm to many women. Thank you for sharing your heart!

    Congrats to the winners!

I enjoyed the link about Stephen Kings book. Great WE as always, Tina!

  17. I think Albert Einstein had a great sense of humor.

You can see the amusement in his eyes.

  18. Virginia, I "liked" your page...a lot!

    Oo-la-la, that banner! lol

I wish I could figure out all this fb stuff, but I DID set-up the personalized page thingie last week when Sarah told us how to do that. One step at a time!

  19. "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel"

I saw the previews for this and it did look DEELIGHTFUL.

Saw Les Mis on the stage. Wonderful. Brought me to tears.

  20. Walt, that's a good one... I go for the insanity definition myself... It's what spurred me to totally different avenues of writing.

But here's a favorite of mine:

"He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would suffice."

Whereas who doesn't love Frost's "The Road Not Taken"?

(last stanza:) "Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."

And Helen Lowrie Marshal: "Dare to be different! Life is so full of people who follow the same push and pull."

I use these to excuse my maverick tendencies, LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I Liked Virginia Carmichael!!!

    Go her!

    Go ME!!!!

  22. Popping in to put up my link. If you want to learn about our Nation's Capital and the romance, history and inspiration of the place, feel free to like.

    Peace and happy weekend, Julie

  23. Love the quotes, Tina! Especially the first one.

And Kav, did Einstein REALLY say that about kissing a girl??? Too cute!!!

    ReplyDelete
  24. "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel"--REALLY want to see this! Looks adorable!!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Here's a fitting one:

"Imagination is more important than knowledge."

    Equally true:
"The hardest thing in the world to understand is the income tax."

    And snicker:
"The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources."

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Not quite sure I agree with this one ;):
Reading, after a certain age, diverts the mind too much from its creative pursuits. Any man who reads too much and uses his own brain too little falls into lazy habits of thinking.

I did get to have breakfast and hang out with the incomparable Tricia Goyer for a bit this morning :D. That was fun!

Gorgeous day here! Took the kids outside for a bit and will go back out again. Reading a good book AND Karen Witemeyer's new one showed up today!! Good weekend all around :D.

  26. Working tonight...

    quiet house.

Now that's a gift right there.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I had to read that person's rankings of Jane Austen's books. Her number 1 book is my least favorite, Northanger Abbey. I want to read them all again soon, though.

Thanks for those Einstein quotes, Tina! I love those. Now I must go work on edits some more!!! No lollygagging allowed.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Indeed!!! This is a no lollygagging zone.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I saw The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel last night. It's pretty great. And the twenty five minutes of previews were all movies about writers!!! Seriously. I also had my first proper English tea. With cream! I feel so grown up.

I won the giftcard, yes! This week keeps getting better and better. And I will look forward to Sherri's post on Friday. Thank you everyone for the well wishes. Off to watch North & South thanks to Virginia's FB page. =)

  30. I had my first tea at The Brown Palace in Denver years ago. Isn't it quite fun.

    Pinkies, ladies. Pinkies.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Thanks for another wonderful Weekend Edition, Tina. I need to re-read yesterday's contest info again -- there's so much good stuff!! -- and come back tomorrow to catch up on today's contents and links, too. The day just seemed to wash away in the rain and I ran out of time.

Congrats to all the week's winners, and to the Seekerville friends who finaled in the Genesis contest. Way to go, everyone!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Pinkies.... Oh, I teach my little ones how to extend their pinkies for our tea parties...

Of course the visiting Gund Bears have a difficult time with the concept, as do Care Bears and American Girl dolls, but the little ones... they get it. If I can do this ONE SMALL THING to prepare these babes-in-arms for a genteel existence, then I will die a happy woman.

As long as there is chocolate involved!

I just had a lovely, peaceful work session with research on hunky guys, smart women and bridge building and repair.

    Can you say "Steel Girder"????

    :)

    ReplyDelete
  33. Hey Kav, that was the quote I was going to use. Now I'm going back to find another.

Thanks for the website btw KC

Okay here is another one I like.

The pursuit of truth and beauty is a sphere of activity in which we are permitted to remain children all our lives.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Okay, I'm off to go like Virginia and Julie.

My goal is to go through chapter by chapter my
    FACEBOOK FOR DUMMIES.

Just the title scares me. aaaaahhhhh.

Virginia and Julie, please say it is easy.

    ReplyDelete
  35. It's still the weekend, so I'm not too late, right?

    Favorite Einstein quotes -

This one is for my HS Chem teacher who told me my feminine logic would make me fail Chemistry.

“Logic will get you from A to Z; imagination will get you everywhere.”
    ― Albert Einstein

    So THERE, Mr. K!

I also love this one. I think we can substitute write for dance.
“We dance for laughter, we dance for tears, we dance for madness, we dance for fears, we dance for hopes, we dance for screams, we are the dancers, we create the dreams.”
    ― Albert Einstein

    Happy Sunday, Seekerville!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Thanks for the great WE, Tina!! So many good links. Will have to come back later to click on more!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Well done, Einstein quoters!!

Still time to get lots of quality writing and reading in before the weekend ends.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Great Einstein quotes! What a wise man. Just needed help with his hair.

Virginia, great author page! Pam, yours is wonderful, too! I haven't created one yet. It's on my to-do list, LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Congrats to all the Genesis finalists! I'll be rootin' for you in September!!!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Congrats to the winners! So fun. :)

Tina, loved the Einstein themed WE. He had so many great quotes. And great links!

I'm looking forward to the coming week--looks like wonderful posts.

    ReplyDelete
  41. JULIE L--you've never seen Les Mis? Oh, you must see it. :) I've seen the play, and the "old" movie with Liam Neeson about 15 years ago was fabulous. It really rounded out the story for me. :) Looking forward to the new one too.

  42. Right, Audra. A little mousse would have solved his dilemma.

    HAIR = Mousse Squared

    ReplyDelete
  43. Sandra, it is easy until you try to figure out how to link your personal page to your public page so you can remind people to check it.

But there is a way to write posts and schedule them for delivery so you don't have to check it every day!

    Peace, Julie

    ReplyDelete
  44. Congrats to this week's Seekerville winners!!!

Tina, thanks for including the Atlanta Journal-Constitution article on the GRW Golden Heart and RITA finalists!!! Kudos to all the finalists, and a big high five to the AJC for publishing the pro-romance article!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Julie, not check it every day? What are you talking about? I've had mine up ever since it went live and I've been watching for 37 hours steady. Not much happening, but every time someone likes me, I get to run to the bathroom as a celebration!

Kidding. And I love your page. I'm going to love it even more when I get to read your whole book! It's wonderful!

Sandra, it was really easy-peasy. The only time I had trouble was finding a big enough picture as the backdrop. It kept giving me the same message, so finally I just went looking for screen shots of gorgeous people doing romantic things. Didn't have too look very long... It's prbably breaking some copyright laws, but let's not say a nything and maybe RA will come to my house to complain. :D

    ReplyDelete
  46. If they can find your house. Did Fedex ever succeed??

    ReplyDelete
  47. Oh my gosh. When I saw that first picture of Einstein I panicked -- thought someone had taken a pic of me out in the wind yesterday.

Genesis finalists! How cool is that. Congrats to one and all. And a round of applause for everyone who entered the contest.

Tina, I still have a few of the links to read, but the article about the seven bad habits of successful writers is a keeper. An information-packed Weekend Edition, and the contest update Friday was terrific, too. Thank you!

I'm totally enjoying the Einstein quotes. I had no idea he had such a sense of humor. My son had a poster of Einstein for years. Can I remember the quote on it? Uh ... no. I remember it was good, though :-)
