17 Days to Speedbo 2013

March 1st is the starting date for our Second Annual Seekerville Speedbo. Speedbo is our version of the book-in-a-month challenge. Speed and Book. Get it?

Why March? March is one of the slowest, coldest, darkest months of the year. It also happens to be a month of waiting for the results of the Golden Heart and the RITA. Unlike the traditional November NaNoWriMo, there is less going on in March.

We think it's the perfect time to clear your desk and prepare to write.

Last year we weren't quite prepared for the 100 + participants in Speedbo. This year we are. So when you sign up your name only will go on the Speedbo Wall of Fame and you'll get your own print out certificate and badge for your blog immediately.

You can sign up starting Saturday, February 16th, through March 31st by sending an email to seekers at seekerville dot net with your personal goal listed. Sharing your goal is only for accountability. Seekerville will not be sharing your goal with anyone.

All participants who sign up by March 1st will be eligible to be entered in a drawing for a little extra incentive -one Speedbo Survival Pack to be given away for every 50 writers who sign up.  Remember you can still enter Speedbo  after it begins. It's YOUR CHALLENGE. Own it!

Speedbo Primer for Beginners:
Like book-in-a-month, Speedbo in its purest form is a 31 day self-challenge where the writer puts aside the inner critic and produces manuscript pages with the ultimate goal of completing an entire book. No editing allowed.

Speedbo Guidelines:

Daily, weekly, monthly writing goals are maintained by the individual writer. You may share or not. Your choice.

Check in is not required, but only those who comment will be entered into the weekly drawings.  All the action is here on the Seekerville blog. One easy location. No fees required.

Don't rule out Speedbo because you can't write nonstop for 31 days.Consider doing the Speedbo that fits your lifestyle:

  • Become a weekend warrior for five weekends.
  • Give up evening television for a month to write.
  • Get a babysitter Saturday afternoons for a month so you can write.
  • Get up one hour earlier for a month so you can write.
  • Write during your lunch hour at work for a month.
  • Writing, or revising? We don't care.
  • Fiction,or  non-fiction? Your call.
  • No rules Just write.

Whatever you do, stretch yourself. Get out of your comfort zone.

We're very excited to have the following Speedbo guest bloggers in March:
  • Gina Welborn
  • Jordyn Redwood
  • Alan Schleimer
  • Regina Jennings
  • Roseanna White
  • Jane Choate
  • Mia Ross
  • Lenora Worth
  • Kristen Etheridge
Besides the satisfaction of a job well done we're also offering writing prizes just like last year. Each week (for five weeks)  you'll have the opportunity to win one of the following:

  • First chapter critique -up to 20 pages
  • First 5 pages critique
  • One page synopsis critique
  • Phone chat
  • First page hook critique
And one reader will win a package of books each week for the five weeks of March. All prizes will be claimed after Speedbo, because in March we're writing-not mailing.

Additionally, the Yankee-Belle Cafe is gearing up to bring you easy recipes for the month of March. Of course, there's always pizza.

Speedbo Tools:

I've gathered some great tools to get you motivated and help you as you begin Speedbo.

  • If you haven't- join 1K1H on Facebook. A great  way to stay on track.#1K1HR is the challenge to write at least 1000 words in an hour! Post a comment a few minutes before you want to start and see if you find any takers. Even if you don't, report back your total so we can cheer with you later.

  •  timeEdition - time management made easy - timeEdition is targeted at all users in a computer workplace who value detailed documentation of their working hours, whether they use it for customer billing or for monitoring the duration of individual projects.  (For Mac and Windows)

  • TheDailyGrind-time management widget for Mac.  Designed to take up as little of your time as possible managing your time to better let you focus on getting your jobs done. No more scattered sticky notes, text documents, spreadsheets, or napkins. Just peace of mind and focus on the task at hand. (Thanks to Gwen Hernandez for this one.)

  •  Need some written kick in the pants motivation? Check out this post from last year's Speedbo, called Sacred Writing Time.

Remember-  17 days until Speedbo. Go get your affairs in order. Life as you know it is about to end for THIRTY-ONE DAYS!

  1. I'll be signing up, not sure what my goal is, do I have to have that before signing up?

Put me in for crit please. I can always use another pair of eyes on those first pages!

  2. I'm a plodder, so there's no way I could ever write an entire book in a month.

My goal is to finish the book that I have in progress.

    Coffee's on!

  3. Oooooo! I can't wait for Speedbo!!!!!

This year I'm going to be stepping out of my comfort zone and trying a new genre in a manuscript related to last year's Speedbo project.

    I can't wait!!

And I'm in for all the prizes today :D.

  4. I'm definitely in for Speedbo - just cleaning things off my plate in preparation!

Oh, and be sure to stop by the Yankee Belle Cafe today for a cool cover reveal (!) and the best cookies this side of the Mississippi.

  5. Definitely signing up. I must finish this book of mine!

I am in for your book because I will need a carrot in front of my nose and, well, it's your book!

    Peace, Julie

  6. Yes, you have to have your goal.

  11. Sounds like what I need to get my fingers moving. Now if I can get myself sitting in a chair long enough. Maybe chain my ankle? No, nothing that drastic. Hmmmmm

    Have a blessed day!

  12. Good morning! I'll be signing up. I agree March is a better time to write than November.

I love the FB site to sign in and write 1000 words in an hour. It's a great place to go.

Please toss my name in the hat for the drawing.

Thanks for hosting Speedbo and all the encouraging things you do for us.

    Jackie L.

  13. Looking forward to March Cindy and Jackie! (Chains or not)

  14. Where's Walt????

    Get thee ready, Walt Mussel!!!

    :)

My slow, turtle-plodding ways are about to take you down, my man!!!!

TEEEEEEEENA!!!!!! OH THIS ROCKS THE BIGGEST KAHUNA EVER!!!! I have warned the family and told them I may or may not be ignoring the four birthdays in March.....

Hey, I might (repeat MIGHT!!!) buy them cupcakes at the grocery and hand out gift cards. Gift cards rule in March, LOL!

I love this advice, and yes, it's time... focus. Clean what needs to be cleaned now and give it a pass in March. Well, at least until Holy Week, then some dusting is probably required. And maybe a clean bathroom.

But other than that, I'm so psyched!

    Coffee... CHECK! Bless you, Helen!

    Here's a live link for Jan's cover:

    YANKEE BELLE CAFE

That will take you to Jan's cover!!! YAY, DREXLER!!!!

And Jackie Layton, I'd been remiss about stopping in to say howdy at 1K1HR so I wrote myself a note last night and this morning.... Must stop in and swap "heys" with the peeps!!! I saw you there! :)

And yes, March is much better for me, too. November???? With all these kids and grandkids and projects for the birth of Jesus????

Oh my stars, just way too busy! Love this!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Yay!!! I'm excited for Speedbo. Trying to clear my calendar. Got my goal set. Trying to plot ahead (that's not going well.) Trying to read ahead so I have books to review that month while I'm writing up a storm. Was hoping for a new job by then which would leave me with free mornings but a few applicants had the same scores so we have to go back for a second interview at the end of the month. At least I'm still in the running. If I don't get the job then I'm going to book some vacation time in March as well. I mean business! Thanks Seekerville for hosting Speedbo!

    ReplyDelete
  16. March is a much better month for a book in a month. November is just to busy!

I will be signing up before the deadline, since I have a contracted book that I need to get busy working on!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Good morning Seekerville!

Thanks for the heads up on Speedbo and the cool links, Tina! March always works for me, since that's when Spring Break happens and I get to go off by myself for some writing time. I'm excited for the writing opportunity--I've gotten a lot of editing done since Nov., but I have not generated a lot of new pages, so this will help. And I'm with Carol, it is a great prize day--any prize would be great!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Rose congratulations on your contract!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Kav! Praying for that interview, as are all the Seekers. But wow, even considering using vaca time. That's serious! Proud of you.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Piper I am delighted to see you joining Speedbo!!!

    ReplyDelete

  21. 17 Days? Eeek! I need to finish edits on my current project and spring clean the house.

Enter me for everything, including the critique.

    ReplyDelete
  22. HELEN being a plodder when you've got a dozen books already written is a GOOD THING. I'm proud of you.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yay, Speedbo!

And I have to share, I read 2,000 to 10,000 by Rachel Aaron a few weeks ago and COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN. You want to win that book. I love that book. And if you don't win it, I highly recommend buying it. My two cents :)

    ReplyDelete
  24. I love seeing your cover up there, Tina. It's coming SOON!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. March is a much sane-er month to have a writing challenge, don't you think? Yes, I have my goal. Yes, I'm cooking ahead for the family.

Now if I can only get day job to understand this Speedbo thing is IMPORTANT and please hold my projects until April 1...

    ReplyDelete
  26. Tina, great rah-rah post for Speedbo!

    ReplyDelete
  27. um, planning to sign up. still need to get things in order. need to find the goal number since i'm not sure what genre my planned ms fits.

will sign up though: my one word demands it. *heh*

and will have goal by then as well. thank you for the smack upside the head reminder. (this is a good thing for me)

  28. Going to give it a shot, not to write a whole book but to finish a first draft. I work full-time and run a fairly complicated household, so it's often hard to discipline myself to write, even though I love it. I have had one excellent critique partner for going on 15 years, so that helps. She is very gentle, but does nudge me. Interesting thing is, I found much more time for writing when I had two young children at home. Wrote during naps etc., or snatched a moment when they were playing together. Also had a supportive spouse. (Still do. Same spouse.) But I got a lot of writing done even when I had little ones running around. Maybe I was a terrible mother, ha ha. LOL. :) Was younger too, which never hurts. Something has to go. Housework? ha ha LOL :) Please enter me in drawing.
    Kathy Bailey

    ReplyDelete
  29. If revisions are allowed count me in. I will have just finished the first draft of my book and I'd love to get it cpletelt revised in March.

Throw my name in the ring for all the prizes except your book. Oh it hurts me to say that, but I won a copy the week before last and I think greed is a sin. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  30. Oooh, this sounds so exciting! I'm going to try to enter Speedbo with the story taking shape in my head. I have so much to do before I can begin to prep (yes, I'm definitely a plotter), so I'm declaring it here. I will work toward being able to enter Speedbo. :) (Breathes a big sigh).

I'm in for all the drawings, but the critique. ONLY because I got this fabulous critique from a certain TEEENNAA last time she offered it.

Thanks for the links. I'm looking forward to checking them out.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Terri! LOL. You are too funny. Revision btw is a good thing.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Jeanne~ is doing Speedbo. Congratulations for committing, and thank you for the lovely words.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Kathy, you asked the wrong person about housework. I say it goes. One month. Just clean when you need a break from the puter. No one ever died from a dirty house.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I agree Annie~~ gosh look at you. From newbie to cutting edge Diva. We are so proud of you.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Go Bridgett. Spring clean fast. On the other hand...it will still be Spring on April 1.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Deb H...it was a gentle smack upside the head.

    ReplyDelete
  37. GO GO AUDRA. THIS IS YOUR CHEERLEADER SPEAKING.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Tina
yes, a gentle smack (love tap?), and greatly appreciated.

did some quick research. have my goal word count now. half the battle - the other half? prep.

still a bit to do there, but feeling more confident now. i guesss having a goal helps... DUH.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Wow, Tina, your post got my juices flowing! I'm in for SpeedBo. Can't guarantee I can stop editing. That's a lot like guaranteeing I'll lose weight. But I'll plant my sitter in the chair and give it my best shot, focusing on my word for 2013. DO.

    Janet

    ReplyDelete
  40. Jan, I love your cover!!! When does your book release? April?? If so, that makes you, Missy, Tina and me with a book on the shelves. YAY!!!

Your cookies remind me of my mother-in-law's giant soft delicious sugar cookies.

    Janet

    ReplyDelete
  41. It's okay if you're a plodder, Helen..i'll wait for your books, just not for coffee! WOW wish April was for publishing all you get written in March. me? Not greedy, at all. Want to read your book Tina...and review it! Not sure how you find time to write a book with all you do here at Seekerville...are you joining Speedbo? And doing all the extras, too? Have as awesome a day as you all are!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Jan Drexler!~ Love you cover. A bonnet romance??? How lovely. Please save me a cookie.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Wonderful it's being offered again next month. I'm a plotter and a plodder. Been trying to finish the first draft on a new story by 3/3. This was one I put aside 6 mos. ago. Now using a fantastic Book-in-a-Month resource I won here. I've set goals, kept track by completing the worksheets, etc. and so far stayed motivated. If not for doing my own version of Speedbo, I'd join the group. All this to say I'd love to be considered for the 10 page critique, Tina.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Speedbo!
Woohoo! I'm going to try it -but it will DEFINITELY be a modified version. Taking lunch breaks 3 days a week for writing ONLY.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Marianne, you are too sweet. Yes. Doing Speedbo. Going to finish revising book two of my Paradise series.

    ReplyDelete
  46. There you go, Pepper! That's what we're talking about. Pepper of the five kids and full time job and a pastor's wife. She still finds a way to reach for her dreams.

    Poster Child!!!

  47. Pat, your determination is inspiring!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Wow, Speedbo already!

Funny enough, I spent the weekend re-reading my Speedbo book from last year and I like it! Needs some polishing up for sure. So maybe that's what I'll do for this year's Speedbo.

Might as well stay in the editing mode!

Love to win a copy of your book, Tina!

    Cheers,

  49. Janet - My book releases in May, which is perfect because the story begins in May, 1936. Although it would have been nice to be on the shelves at the same time as such an illustrious crowd!

And Tina - sorry. The vultures I live with have already eaten all the cookies.

    Sigh.

I guess I'll have to make another batch...

    ReplyDelete
  50. Jan, Congratulations on your debut!! The cover is gorgeous! What month does it come out in?

    Sue

    ReplyDelete
  51. Oops just as I posted, I saw your answer. MAY is the month!

  52. HELP!!!

I've been having problems signing onto Seekerville for over a week. It starts to pull up and does fine until the advertising begins loading and then a "windows has a problem" comes up and tries to reload, reopen tab. etc. I've tried to change the pop-up link, but it hasn't worked so far.

(I have to really hurry and click on comments to get on this page, but can never read the blog.)

Any suggestions? This is only happening on Seekerville.

    Thanks
    Connie

  53. Connie, try using a different program to open. Chrome, or Mozilla.

Here is the link to download Mozilla free. It's what I use for all Blogger blogs.

    Mozilla

    ReplyDelete
  54. Susan!! That's a brilliant plan.

Hey, I hope your son is doing better.

  55. Hi Tina:

    Can Oklahomans Sooner Speedbo?

I read in the rules that there were no rules except you can’t edit except you can revise except it’s very hard to delineate between editing and revising expect I intend to do Scrivenerinamo (that’s ‘Scrivener in a month’, pronounced: Scri—ven—er--REE--ah -- mo which rhymes with Geronimo and is best pronounced as if you were an Napolitano(a) who rolls the last two ‘R’s. The ah--mo is just like the word 'amo' which means I love you.)

Now since Scrivenerinamo runs through half of February and all of March, I really need to start Speedbo at the same time as I start Scrivenerinamo ( February 19th) since they are both time intensive.

I want to enter and my goal is to write the book that almost killed me trying to plot during the Plotting Bootcamp. (Can you tell business is very slow?)

BTW: When I came in this morning and went to Seekerville, a brilliant cross of sunlight appeared on the right side of the screen. This has never happened before so I took a picture of it. I quickly went to Debby’s “Writer’s Prayer” on her site and the cross was still there so I took a picture of it. They are up on my Facebook page (and I hate FB!). If you or Debby want to use these photos in the future for anything, please do.

    Vince

P.S. I could sure use a critique of the rewrite of my first chapter which I am going to enter into contests since several judges last year wanted the heroine introduced first.

  56. Hey, Tina! I've already been planning for SpeedBo! I started a new book in January and am hoping I might even finish the rough draft in March! That would be awesome if I do! Although, my kids do have Spring Break the last week of March, and so I will want to be doing stuff with them that week, but probably will still get some writing time in. After all, they are old enough to feed and entertain themselves! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  57. Thanks Tina. It worked.

Great cover and would LOVE to win your book.

I'd already planned to finish my rough draft on book 2 in a series during Speedbo.

I'm working on revisions on book 1 this month to get ready. I'm a couple of days behind so I will get caught up this week.

I'm already itchin' to begin. Reading a few books in my genre to get geared up.

    Connie

    ReplyDelete
  58. I've got 20k to write on an 80k book and a novella to revise and I plan to have all of this done so I can dive into something NEW for Speedbo.

GOALS!!!! GOALS!!!! GOALS!!!! GOALS!!!! GOALS!!!! GOALS!!!! GOALS!!!! GOALS!!!! GOALS!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Yay!!! So excited to get this going again! I look forward to seeing how successful everyone will be!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Well Vince, your miracle vision is very interesting. Did you hear music as well?

Revising is -this work stinks let me rewrite it.

Editing is-this comma stinks let me fix it.

Official start date is MARCH 1 dear.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Great, Connie. Glad that helped. I don't know why Blogger seems to play better with Mozilla.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Yes. Melanie.

THEY COULD FEED AND FIX YOU DINNER DURING SPEEDBO. What a concept.

    ReplyDelete
  63. So 20 thousand words in 17 days huh, Connealy??

    ReplyDelete
  64. Speedbo. Speedbo. Speedbo.

It will be my March mantra (along with "FINISH," my 2013 mantra).

I have the book outlined. I even have it started. To finish a rough draft, I need about 2,400-2,500 words per day. That may be asking a little much. Will have to think about it.

While I'm always up for a giveaway (and I always love critiques), I am out of it for Tina's book as I won her first two books. This one, I'm either picking up or downloading myself. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  65. Fix ME dinner, Tina? I hadn't thought of that!!! Wow, what a concept! :-) Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Critique from Teeeena? Oh yeah... Sign me up please.

LOVE the cover and the title of your latest and greatest. Thanks for sharing that!

I'm with Helen. Goal is to finish what I have going now. Might sign up though, for this book that's already started. We'll see. :)

Have a great WARM day everyone! May is tugging at my sleeve to get me to start writing today.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Jan, your book will release with Ruthys. Not sure who else might have a release in May. Hard to keep up!

    Janet

  68. Hi Tina:

Okay. March 1st it is, however, with Sooners you never really know, do you?

I didn’t hear music but I did envision a little dog with a sign around its neck that read:

    I will work for SpeedBo.

BTW: I think Ruth owes us some snow pictures. (I’ve been looking at that heifer for a month. Even Mary is not that crazy about cows!) ☺

    Vince

    ReplyDelete
  69. Oh that snow hoarder! She has snow pictures too. Oh, RUTHY~!~

    ReplyDelete
  70. Walt. If you always do what you always do....

Shoot for it. You will be much closer than if you didn't.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I'm excited for March's Speedbo! I've done NaNoWriMo, but never finished because November is so busy for me.

March is good--and it has 31 days. I will be signing up! I'm grateful for the resources provided--printed off the 30 day planning sheets.

And easy recipes from Yankee-Belle Cafe so my DH won't starve...you think of everything!

Please add my name for the books and critique giveaway goodies.

    Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  72. We've done this a time or two before, Sherida. Failure is not an option this go round.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I've 'won' NaNo for 5 [or 6?] years straight.

Technically, I missed Speedbo last year by about 100 words but I had serious sinus infection issues the last couple weeks ['member? It turned into Bell's Palsy a couple weeks later]. And I *did* finish the rough draft at about 69900.

I may set my sights lower this year - with like a 60K rough draft instead of 70K...

    ReplyDelete
  74. Carol, we emulate you, dear. We should have our own Carol Award in Seekerville. Grace under sinus pressure.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Yay, Tina! New book coming soon. Can't wait! And I love the tips and ideas.

I have a little secret weapon that kept me on track during Speedbo 2012- the Dedicated Kitchen Timer. Last year it drove dh crazy, cause he couldn't find it. Well, that was last year. This year, no more burned fries for him! He has his own, shiny new timer sitting on the kitchen counter, waiting! Oooooo, ahhhhh...

I'm really looking forward to the new Speedbo challenge! Thanks for the great opportunity to step out of the box.

  77. Absolutely Speedbo-ing in March!

I'm plan to write a novella, for a change. I know the characters' names, the location and time period, the names of a couple of the critters, the very beginning, and the last scene. That's a lot more than I've started with before.

I am so looking forward to everyone striving and sharing.

    Nancy C

    ReplyDelete
  78. Jan, that is a lovely cover. I like the relaxed postures and the 'warmth' the cover conveys. Wishing much success for the book ... and you :-)

  79. I'll be signing up as well. The thought makes me nervous, but I could use a kick in the pants!

I'd love to see a blog about how past participants took part in Speedbo.

Just sayin...helps with the never-done-this-before jitters.

Would love to be thrown in for the critique.

  81. The trusty kitchen timer is a wonderful gadget. LOL on having to buy dh his own.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Okay, so I hit "publish" on a previous post and then realized I hadn't said what I intended to say ... not that it's ever happened to me before.

Tina ... that field of wildflowers and that warm sun on the cover ... ahh ...

It's definitely a book I would buy for the cover even if I'd never read the author.

I"m thinking a nice cover must be a writing reward in itself. Do any of you pubbed writers frame the covers?

    Nancy C

    ReplyDelete
  83. Nancy C!!! Glad to have you on Team Speedbo.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I think many do. I frame them.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Oh and I didn't give you a proper thank you, Nancy.

    THANK YOU!!

    ReplyDelete
  86. Tina and Mary,

You amaze me at the way you remember what each of your peons are doing.

    ReplyDelete
  87. What peons? I there are peons then I am their Queen. Off with Mary's head.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Oooohhhh, Tina! You got me motivated just from reading your post today, LOL. I definitely plan on doing SPEEDBO again this year, and...Lord willing...will complete a 55k story. My challenge will be the "No Editing"---but I'm excited about giving it a shot. Thanks for ALL you do in S'ville, and please enter me in your drawing (preferably for one of the books). Hugs, Patti Jo

    ReplyDelete
  89. Patti Jo!!! Write your book in March and then you can claim your critique that I still owe you.

  90. Thanks, Tina, for providing the important information about Speedbo!

I'll share everything with my church writing group this evening. Hope some of them will take the challenge.

    Game on, everyone!

Speed Book is just what I need to get motivated. Plus, I'm working on the next story in my Military Investigations series and want to see my page count soar in March.

    It's all good.

Of course, it's always good in Seekerville!

Providing chocolate bars for everything...love that afternoon boost to help the muse and the writer.

  91. Sounds like a month of fun. I'm not sure what I'll be doing yet...revising or writing.

    Blessings,

  94. Oh my is it time already to start thinking of March and SpeedBO?? last year you kindly let me be your cheerleader since I am not a writer and just a reader...I love to see the competition between everyone. I would like to stop in from time to time and cheer you on and give a few words of encouragement though I can see many are pretty psyched up already...

    Love the cover Jan

  96. Pol and Jenny we love our cheerleaders. Those book packages are for our cheerleaders to win.

Besides, Jenny might be able to give a class on Typo in the future so we have to keep her around.

  97. I'm really looking forward to Speedbo and hope to just write. So I'm trying to get a rough outline of what I'm going to write. I'm terrible at following an outline, but it helps to keep me on track. Sort of.

  98. I'll speedbo!!! My goal is 2k a day M-F all month. That's 40k total. Holy crap, what am I thinking!?!?! Oh why not! I'm not going to live forever this side of eternity.

  99. I'll be signing up, too! Haven't quite decided what my goals will be. I need to download those sheets and get some planning done. I have a few story ideas percolating, but I also have a few in the works that I'd love to finish, too.

  108. I plan on jumping in with Speedbo this year. It's going to be rough and messy, but I've won NaNo a few times so hopefully I'm up for the challenge.

I'd love to win a copy of the 2k-10k book. That would help a lot lol.

    ReplyDelete
  109. I will be signing up. I need to finish my current novel and this looks like the motivation I need. :) Please drop my name in the hat for everything, including the critique. Oh, and thanks for the giveaways. I guess my goal will be 1,000 words a day or finishing the novel, whichever comes first.

  110. First, I need to go on record as saying I want ALL the prizes ;).

Second - I REALLY think I will be ready for SpeedBo when it comes. But not much before. Am snowflaking right now - and am approaching the next-to-last step before actually writing the blasted thing ;).

Tried NaNo once. Did NOT succeed. Goooooo SpeedBo!

  111. AWESOME! I'm so looking forward to this. Please enter me in the drawing! I would love to win the critique or write faster book!

  116. So excited about Speedbo! My best writing all of last year was during Speedbo and I've been quite lazy with it since. I've got my plot outline and around 20% of the MS written. Would love to get all the way to "The End" even if that means I have to temporarily "tell" a few scenes in just two or three sentences & move on toward the finish line.

    Yay for Speedbo! :)

  117. Natalie!! I thought you were lost. Good to see you again.

    ReplyDelete
  118. I can't wait as a reader to see what fabulous books might come out of speedbo. I would love to be entered in the drawing for the book please :)

    Thank you very much.

  120. Count me in. Working on a western romance and setting my goal at 1000 per day with the hopes (and intentions) of exceeding my goals and finishing the book by the end of the month.

This is gonna be fun! (and I certainly could use the prizes to refine my writing skills).

  121. Signing up for Speedbo. 1K a day except for Mar 14-18 when I'm gone to speak for Inland NW Christian Writers Conference. So I'll say 26K words for the month.

    I'd love a 10 page critique.

  124. My goal? 500 a day, 15,500 for the month. That's pushing it for me! So excited. Any of the prizes would tickle me no end. I think this is wonderful. From the first I heard of the Nov contest I doubted I'd ever do that!

  125. I'm so excited to take part in Speedbo. I'd never make it in November. I'd be thrilled to win any of the prizes mentioned. My goal? 500 words per day, 15,500 for the month. A stretch for me! Yay!

  131. I'm late to the party, as usual, but I'd love to finish my WIP by end of month and will need some prodding, so sign me up. I'll just have to write 50,000 words to make my goal. I can do that, but I might not be able to read it afterward. If it's not too late to enter the contests, put me in for anything. They all sound great.
