This weekend we're day dreaming, letting our plots and characters percolate on those clouds in our minds. I'm seeing a cute guy on a horse who looks like Henry Cavill in those clouds. What do you see?

ReplyDeleteY'all remember SpeedBo, don't you? It was responsible for me finishing a novella that I entered into Boroughs Publishing Group's novella contest. Well, the contest is live and the finalists are selected by popular vote. I would sure appreciate your vote if you're so inclined.
Go to http://boroughspublishinggroup.com/content/whats-name-voting and my entry is the second one, BETTER AS A MEMORY. You can vote once a day (and it has to be 24 hours between votes). There's a week left in the first round. I'll be sure to post the results in here. I've been promoting this every day and everywhere. I guess it's a taste of what it's like to promote a book release!
Thanks in advance. You guys and SpeedBo were here at the right time for me.
Marilyn
Congratulations to the week's winners and Missy, Janet and Debby!
ReplyDeleteTina, thanks for the WE and all the excellent links. I love the clouds!
I've got to start packing/shopping for the dude ranch. I'll see you all there!
Go Marilyn!! There is also a hot link to vote on the Seekerville FB page for today.
ReplyDeleteVOTE!!!
Wow! What a great line-up for next week!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the winners and to Missy, Janet and Debby! Lots of great news!
Voted for you Marilyn. Good luck!
The article on writing the perfect scene was awesome. I've heard it all before but this was clearer somehow. A keeper for sure. Now if I could figure out how to get a Goal, Conflict and Disaster in all my scenes, I'd be doing great!
Thanking God that my daughter was not injured in her car accident yesterday. Our new car was, (2nd time in 6 months!) but metal can be fixed. Nerve wracking few hours yesterday though.
Have a good weekend everyone.
Cheers,
Sue
Hmmmm....see packing boxes but Simba sees an army of squirrels.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Missy on her two book deal. Can't wait to read them so you better write fast!
Whooohoooo to Debby and Janet! Uber cool.
Tons of information to sift through this WE but I think I'm depressed. I was just beginning to think I might survive synopsis writing but now I have to worry about loglines? Really? I'd been blissfully ignorant of them until this morning, thank you very much. :-0
Oh, Susan. So glad she is okay.
ReplyDeleteKids and cars. It's a constant prayer.
Hello everyone.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the winners.
Does anyone know on the writers retreat if we should receive a confirmation email? I've sent 2 emails but no reply.
WAY TO GO, MISSY!!!
Tina, that's one of favorite songs.
ReplyDeleteSusan, we're on kid #5 for teaching to drive. I get more nervous w/each one. This one is almost 17 and I still haven't let her get her her license. I must be getting old.
You should Connie. I will ask Ruthy.
ReplyDeleteI see a CAT in every cloud, LOL!
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS to all the winners!
And CONGRATS to Missy on your sale and to Janet and Debby on your Holt Medallion awards - - YAY!!
SO excited about the upcoming week in S'ville - - some of my FAVORITE writers AND friends will be posting! YIPPY SKIPPY!!!
Happy Weekend everyone, and in honor of Father's Day I'm leaving some desserts here that my precious Daddy always loved....Georgia Pecan Pie, and (the usual, LOL) Peach Cobbler, served with homemade vanilla ice-cream. ENJOY!! ~ Hugs, Patti Jo
Thanks Tina.
ReplyDeletep.s. Oh Tina....my Daddy LOVED that Louis Armstrong song...So now I always think of Daddy when I hear it....such a precious song.
ReplyDeleteTina, another great WE!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the congrats! Hugging Janet...so fun to be a HOLT Merit Recipient with her. Such great company. :)
Is everyone getting ready for Father's Day? I've got a steak ready for the grill...
Congrats to all the winners!
Yay, Marilyn! I'm voting!
I remember my parents went to a military function when I was young, and Louis Armstrong performed. They got his autograph for me.
ReplyDeleteOf course, I was little and didn't realize who he was.
Wonder where I stashed that tiny scrap of paper?
Congratulations to all of the winners. Congrats are also in order for Missy, Janet and Debby!
ReplyDeleteOh, COOL WE, Teenster!!!
ReplyDeleteI see cactus, but that could be because I'm sitting outside in 87-degree weather ... ;)
SUPER CONGRATS TO ALL THE WINNERS AND ESPECIALLY MISSY, JANET, AND DEBBY FOR THE FINALS!!!
I have to admit, the two articles on Amish did dismay me a wee bit, so maybe I need to do what my hubby's been telling me all along -- put a bonnet on Charity. :|
Hugs and Happy Weekend!!
Julie
Uh oh. I didn't get a confirmation e-mail after I signed up for the retreat. I got an "undeliverable" message the first time. Nothing the second. Thought that meant okay.
ReplyDeleteHelen, I'll tell Ruthy.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your votes!
ReplyDeleteI'm still going through all the article links in the WE. Got interrupted by a flood in my apartment. A bad release valve in the apartment over me caused water to gush from my hot water heater. At least I was home and got maintenance on the phone quickly. I'll have 2 blowers and a HUGE dehumidifier here til Monday. At least they're like white noise. I should sleep well. LOL!
No Father's Day celebrations here. My dad died in 1970. I let my boys handle things for their dad since we're divorced. I will send my older son an email and tell him what a terrific father I think he is. He has two little girls and is just wonderful with them.
Back to washing towels and my bathmats. *sigh*
Marilyn
Congrats to the winners...A good name for Julie's book, I like Shannon. and look at yous seekerville has some poets, another poem for us...great.
ReplyDeleteI like to cloud watch and on this one I see two faces looking at one another in surprise...
Have a great weekend all...
Paula O
Pol!!! Good to see you!
ReplyDeleteHelen and connie have arrived at the ranch! We're upwards of 50 slickers coming together to get 'era done!
ReplyDeleteStill plenty of bunk space... we love us some company in Seerkerville!
Teenster I read the article about small town tastes and laughed out loud about how some can't keep 50 Shades on the shelf and for others it's sweet fiction.
ReplyDeleteNot all towns are created equal... or alike! And i loved the article about indie covers. What a great story of evolving enterprise!
I'm heading to the back porch of the ranch because I heard Grammar Queen was on the front one! My goal? To make it through as many days as I can without seeing her!
LOL. That's a very admirable goal. No bloodshed is also.
ReplyDeleteGreat WE TINA.
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS to MISSY, DEBBY and JANET. Not surprised. :)
SUSAN so glad your daughter is okay.
First Father's Day without my dad. So instead of celebrating I'm remembering and thanking God for such a wonderful papa and father-in-law. I sure was blessed.
ReplyDeleteHad some great men in my life to model my heroes after. smile
Blessings to all of you.
Sooo much here.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to all the winners!
Hope everyone is having a fun, productive weekend.
And a HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all the gentlemen here on Seekerville!!!
YES!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you for the link Why The Hero’s Journey is a Tourist Trap. The other links are good reads, too, don't get me wrong. But oh wow and double wow for Why The Hero’s Journey is a Tourist Trap. Bookmarked. Will be shared. And shared. And shared.

And Happy Father's Day to the Seekervillager Dads amongst us.
Nancy C
Nancy C, such enthusiasm. LOL.
ReplyDeleteJust realized I never got to the comments this past weekend! I read the WE but got pulled away before reading all your sweet wishes. Thank you for celebrating with me!! I'm sorry I'm late to thank you.
ReplyDelete
