  6. I will enjoy your pics and comments! Please, Tina, I'd love to win a copy, and I'll pick it up when I get down to Arizona! We finally JD rain. For caste was 90% chance of 2 inches over 2days. We got 1/4 inch, but it helps! Have fun!

  7. TERRI, I'm feeling the same. My green eyes are really green tonight!

Did chuckle when the silent MARY/MARY video ended up really being crowd noise. I thought for sure one of the two of you would break down and yell 'Yeeha!"

TINA, thanks for the pics and details. Really fun to see what's happening in TX!

  12. FIRST:

    CUTEST COVER EVER!!!!!

    I couldn't love it more!!!!!!

SECOND!!!! Praise the Lord for the changes made in the RITA because they had nowhere to go but UP.... and I mean that sincerely and yes, I'm saying it publicly.... But I'm so glad they reverted some things, changed the judging requirements and allowed for a percentage of finalists in EACH CATEGORY rather than making it romance soup... Soup is good for some things, but it isn't good for judging apples and oranges. Good for you, RWA, for seeing the problem... and hearing about the problem.... and then acting expeditiously to handle it! KUDOS!!!!!!!

THIRD: Love the RWA coverage!!!! It's so exciting to see! Thank you, thank you, thank you Tina for the great photos!!!! AND HOW CUTE IS TANYA AGLER?????????

    Stinkin' cute!!!!!!

I'm heading to Manhattan today, gotta see my boys.... and a Yankees game tonight!!!! Happy dancing!!!!! But if my phone works to let me in, I'll annoy youse on a regular basis!

    :)

    You're welcome!!!!

  23. PRO is the organization within RWA for authors who have at minimum completed one manuscript and submitted it and are not yet published.

PAN is the Published author network.

There is a retreat at RWA for each group.

  37. Yay! Fun photos! Maybe next year I'll get to that conference!

I have a question! How did Mary C. get her PAN status so quickly? I have to jump through hoops to get it. First I had to get paid - which I did. But now I need to provide an IS something number which I don't have yet for the LI book.

Is there a secret someone can share? Thanks!!

Have a great time! And wishing Piper the best of luck - and Carla (loved her debut book "Five Days in Skye").

Love all these cowboy books too!
Throwing my cowgirl hat into the draw!

    Cheers,
    Sue

  38. GO PIPER!!!!

loving the pix and info. I am so wanting to win your book Tina. please put my name in the draw. I'm with Heidi - if i wasn't already married, I would love to be stranded with a rancher as handsome as the one on your book cover. Of course, I adore my scuba diver hubby, so I'll have to pass on the stranded thing. *heh*

  39. Aw!!! I would love to be there...especially since it's so close to where I live. But I have to say, I have gotten a lot of important writing done over the past few days being home...

    ReplyDelete

  43. I'm so sad that I couldn't go, but thanks for the updates. What are the benefits to updating your membership to PRO?
Awesome pictures by the way :)

    ReplyDelete
  44. Enjoying the picture and being there vicariously. Please enter me into the drawing for Tina's book!

    ReplyDelete
  45. By the way...I've gotten NOTHING on Ruthy's list done. :( Breaking in a whole new batch of kinders is taking all my energy at the moment. I go home and go straight to bed. :(

    ReplyDelete
  46. You know, when you look at 49% of membership that are neither Pan or Pro, that's a lot of folks looking at the dream and maybe not just there yet, timewise....

Or they love the society of writers. And there's not a thing wrong with that!!!

Sometimes it takes a long time with the Society of Writers to be the right time to Finish The Book... We are so blessed to have such a wide spectrum of folks in this biz!!!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Tina, it's hot there????

    LOL!!!!

I'll wave to you from Yankee Stadium tonight... You be sure to SKIP THE HARLEQUIN party and look for me on the Jumbotron!!!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  48. Lots of authors and books; sounds great! I'm sure it's a lot of fun and maybe work for the authors. Please enter me in the book giveaway.

Can't wait for ACFW in St. Louis :)

And I'm on pins & needles waiting for the Golden Heart and Rita announcements. That's tomorrow, right?

    ReplyDelete
  51. The pictures look great. Wish I was there this year.

Harlequin has a pajama party. Now I know I'll never get a contract there. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  52. LOL, Walt.

We didn't wear jammies. Just street clothes.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Looks like y'all are having lots of fun! I have my copy of SWTR, can't wait to read it!!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Trying to comment on phone. Lost my comment. :( hubby's computer died and we're going to buy another one. Actually, we've been at the John Deere store for an hour. Really????

  59. I'd love to go to one of these someday! Just meeting two authors last year was so much fun for me! I can't imagine meeting a whole bunch of them! I enjoy "talking" with authors on Facebook so much and I'd sure enjoy meeting them face-to-face! I've always wanted to go to San Antonio too. I wish I could have gone but this summer was totally crazy at our house!

Tina, I would LOVE, LOVE to win your book! I read everything you write so I'm sure book will be fantastic as are all your books!

  60. TEEEEENNNNNNA!!! BLESS YOU FOR THIS FAB COVERAGE ... ALMOST LIKE BEING THERE WITHOUT THE NOISE AND CALORIES (and, yes, I'm being snarky 'cause I'm flat-out jealous!!!).

LOVE your new cover, my friend, I'm with Heidi -- LOVE the title of your new book, too, because the word "stranded" reels me in ... ;)

SOOO glad Team Piper is in place and ready to cheer -- GO PIPER!! And GOOD LUCK to both Carla Laureano and Elizabeth Byler Younts -- tough decision there in the Inspy category!!

MARY CURRY SAID: "San Antonio is hot!!! Who knew????"

LOL ... I happen to love "hot," both in romance and my climate, so I am SO jealous!!

WALT SAID: "Harlequin has a pajama party. Now I know I'll never get a contract there."

LOL ... WHY? I think you would be fun at a PJ party, Walt!! ;)

    Hugs!!

    Julie

    ReplyDelete
  61. I bet Walt would love the pajama party!!!! :)

Here in the northeast I saw Jeter, Yankees won, my boys fed me, we saw a few NYC reality show type situations, and I had a Starbucks coffee!!!!

    Happy! :)

I expect all of our Love Inspired gals are still dancing the night away at the Harlequin party... and well deserved !!!! (Nora Roberts and Linda Howard are two small DOMINOES and they can dance all night. That is my claim to fame, dancing next to them a few years ago!!!!)

And I know there are other cool parties going on tonight....

    SUHWEEEET!

    ReplyDelete
  62. I always hear PAN and PRO but I still don't really get those terms. LOL. I only was a member of RWA for one year. You'd think a year was long enough to figure out how it all worked.

Looks like a great party! Enjoy yourselves!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Oh... my word. Pajama party.

    *blinking*

  64. It looks like everyone is having a fabulous time. Thank you for the pictures.

  65. So great to see Seekers I already knew and meet new ones. Hope everyone had a great conference. I did! And now I'm waiting for my last flight to home sweet home.
