Thanks for the links and another great WE.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading to all winners.
Coffee pot's set.
Yawn. Curled up in bed with the rain lashing at my windows and Seekerville in my lap. Cozy way to start a Saturday. Think I'll make pancakes with strawberries soon. I'll share. Or do you prefer blueberries?
ReplyDeleteGreat WE. Oy, don't ask me about quotes because thanks to Seekerville I now have a pinterest account and there are great inspiring quotes on there to chose from. How about:
For the writer:
Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step in your life. Tiptoe if you must, but take that step.
For the reader:
I'm not a bookworm, I'm an escape artist.
I love reading the preview for the upcoming week! Gives me something to look forward too.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to all of the winners.
LOL ... LOVE the "I cheated on my fears" quote ... made me smile!!
ReplyDeleteBut in a more serious vein, I loved the "let your dreams be bigger than your fears ... your faith stronger than your feelings" because as an emotional CDQ, that's where my biggest struggle is -- the faith vs. feelings scenario, so that quote really resonated with me. :)
GREAT WE as usual, Tina, especially the 101 BEST WEBSITES and the HOODWINKED ones -- thanks for all the research you do on the WEs.
SUPER CONGRATS to all the winners and happy weekend, all!
Hugs,
Julie
As always, a top-notch WE, Tina! Must comeback later and dig deeper into those intriguing links!
ReplyDeleteKAV, love your quotes!
Another Saturday, another day of catching up of household chores. Oh joy.
On the bright side, I arrived at "the end" on the first draft of the Barbour novella I'm working on! Now to decide what's next and also polish up my Seeker Christmas novella. So excited to be I the historical collection!
“To write is human, to edit is divine.”
ReplyDelete― Stephen King, “On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft”
“Find a diva to teach you editing.”
-- Corollary to Stephen King.
“The human I can do. The divine is guarded by jealous gods.”
-- Vince Mooney, “On Being Vincible.”
Great WE, as always, Tina. Congratulations to all the winners, readers and writers alike!
ReplyDeleteGreat WE, Tina! Congrats to the winners! My favorite quote was the one about cheating on your fears. I need to do more of that ..... :)
ReplyDeleteWow Tina, The sayings spoke to my heart this weekend. Thank you, dear friend.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to all the winners.
woohooo look at the new Love Inspired books coming out. Yay. Love those seeker novels.
Have a terrific weekend everyone.
You know, I give one and only one speech and the foundation of it is Dreams Can Come True.
ReplyDeleteAnd the other day I was giving my little speech to a bunch of really old ladies and I looked out at that sea of white curls and thought...nope, don't bother, it's too late for all of you.
I suppose that was wrong of me, right?
Exactly how old is REALLY OLD, Mary?
ReplyDeleteSara and Abraham old?
Happy Saturday. Enjoy your waffles.
ReplyDeleteHappy Saturday, Seekerville! Another STELLAR Weekend Edition, Tina! You are amazing!
ReplyDeleteThanks for announcing the pre-order of my November release of "High Country Holiday!" Seems a bit strange to see both of our snowy book covers in the dog days of August, but that season is approaching faster than we can imagine. Where did the summer go?
The "Never too old" quote spoke to me as I have been wondering if I can really begin writing novels at my age. That also makes the "Let your dreams be bigger than your fears quote" appropriate. Not sure I should ask Mary though! :) But I am not "really" old and don't have white curls so maybe she won't give up on me yet.
ReplyDelete"Now I'm marrying my dreams!"
ReplyDeleteLove that line, Tina! Such a good WE!!!
The weather is delightful in Georgia. Everyone come South for the upcoming Moonlight and Magnolias Conference hosted by Georgia Romance Writers. I know a number of Villager will be there! Can't wait to see everyone.
Have a fantastic weekend. I'm writing a synopsis...wish me luck!
I'll be at M&M, DEBBY! Can't wait! You and MISSY have been talking about it for years, and now I finally get to go!
ReplyDeleteI'm back from a month-long vacation....and find plenty to catch up with in Seekerville! Everyone has been busy! So much good news!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the motivational WE! Hmmmm...the "you're never too old to have goals" is sounding more appropriate for me....but the "dream bigger, act louder, and faith is stronger" is perfect! Thanks for that and the reminder that the self-editing class is coming up....I need to finish that WIP in September so I HAVE SOMETHING TO EDIT!
Enjoyed Myra's RWA recap and pictures last week and looking forward to Debby's this week. These recaps make me feel like I was attending RWA along with you all!
Congratulations to the winners! Happy writing/reading this weekend to everyone!
Hi Tina:
ReplyDeleteMy first thoughts on reading the below quote
”I cheated on my fears,
broke up with my doubts,
got engaged to my faith,
and now I’m marrying
my dreams.”
were:
You really need to get yourself a girlfriend, guy.
In my experience marrying anything other than a wife is always a bad thing. But then I’ve just come back from speaking at a funeral and my POV is in an altered state. "He's married to his work" often foreshadows a divorce. “Married to his dreams”…forget him girl!
Hi Debby:
ReplyDeleteI love a synopsis!
I love to write them, read them, and read about how to write them. Here’s the best advice I found in all my synopses books:
Don’t look at your notes. Let the story cool a little. Then write the synopsis from memory as if it were the blurb at the back of the book cover. This way only the most important story events should come to mind.
The next best advice: give yourself permission to leave out large parts of your plot. A synopsis does not have to follow the order of the plot or scene sequence. It’s just a little story about what happens in your story. It should serve as a great coming attraction.
I think a great synopsis shows your story is really worth writing. Reading a great synopsis should act like getting a halftime pep talk from Vince Lombardi.
Have a great weekend.
SHERIDA!!! A month long vacation? How cool is that? Where do I go to get one of those???
ReplyDeleteThanks for another great WE, and I LOVE those quotes! (especially the C.S. Lewis one).
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS to all the winners!
Enjoy the Georgia Peach Shortcake (with real whipped cream) I'm setting out--makes a great snack when you take a brief writing break! :)
Hugs, Patti Jo
p.s. Might be absent some of next week--am going to FL for a best-friends reunion!! :)
Such a wonderful WE!!!! Thank you, Tina, as always. I'm always uber-motivated when I get done reading the WE...
ReplyDeleteAnd think that from where we were five years ago, how blessed we are!
Oh, God is good all the time...
We mere mortals just need to follow suit!
We're having our family reunion, grandchildren's summer-palooza birthday weekend here, so while writing is on hold, grandchildren who've never met each other are eating, running, playing, climbing, laughing, shrieking and cuddling!
Oh, the joy!
Congratulations winners! Another great WE, Tina!
ReplyDeleteLoved the links. I learn so much from the WE!!
Hey, winners! Congratulations! Looks like you have a lot of good reading ahead of you.
ReplyDeleteInformative links, Tina, especially the 'hoodwinked' article and the ebook publisher rankings. How cool that self-pubbed is making the list.
And I particularly appreciated this quote at the Rules of Writing link: Eudora Welty, from “Place in Fiction“: One can no more say, “To write stay home,” than one can say, “To write leave home.” It is the writing that makes its own rules and conditions for each person.
Thanks, as always, for a great WE!
Nancy C
Thanks for a great WE, Tina! I almost missed getting by. We moved middle son into the dorm yesterday. I miss him already.
ReplyDeleteMyra, I think you'll have a great time!
ReplyDeleteMissy, I understand how you feel about moving your son into the dorm. My son moves back to college this Thursday for his second year after being home all summer. I am going to miss him, too.
