  7. I'm in conference packing denial. I bought a dress because nothing is dressy enough in my closet a few weeks ago. ($7 brand new, Woot!) but that's all I've done, I haven't even looked up how long it takes to drive there to figure out when I need to leave....maybe it's because if I just don't think about how long it's going to be, I won't realize how stupid I am for deciding to drive with this one year old when I flew there the last time with the now three year old. But I'm only going to be there for one half of a day, I couldn't make myself pay for plane tickets for 2 people....and the baby's sleep routine has messed up here lately, because he's walking, I think? And yeah.....I just shouldn't have bothered to sign up to go....and I usually cry the first day because there are too many people!! and I just want to go home to my one guy, and so, basically, being there only one day, means I'll not get over the crying panic! But a friend of mine promised to sit with me at the banquet thing, so as long as I can find her I might be okay....where's my brown paper bag....I need to go hyperventilate into it now...or well, go to bed, that's a good idea being 2 am and all!

  20. I'm so excited about ACFW Conference! And I can't wait to meet you gals in person. I'm like Patti Jo, I'm eagerly awaiting my smiley face sticker. What is the name of the place you'll be ganging out in? Want to make sure I don't miss everyone.

I'm not packed and I still have a few things to shop for. I like to shop! :-)

  21. Oh my stars, youse 'll have so much fun next week! I'll be here, tucked with my babies and squash and pumpkins and stories, wavin' you down to St. Louis.... and you'll love it!

I will roast squash in your honor!

And visit Abbott's ice cream as my way of being part of the fun inabsentia.

And I'll be cheering like crazy for all the contesters next weekend! Happy dancing for the finalists and all who have braved the contest circuit! That's awesome!

And now, my word count has been reached, I need to get ready for church because then tomorrow morning I declare a peaceful six hours for writing.

My new schedule. God and I have it worked out, and my church has a Saturday late afternoon Mass, so I'm in gear-switching mode!

Tina, thank you so much for all of this, and WE PROMISE not to blow anything up next week!!!!!

(Missy, did you hear that???? NOTHING GETS BLOWN UP.)

I'm blaming Missy if it does!!!!

  22. Really excited for the conference coverage!!!!! Happy packing and traveling everyone!!!

Great WE everyone. Loved the links. I tried a very cheap imitation of the desk cycle and it did not work!!! It only cost $50 though. The pedals were stiff and the motion uneven...though that might be my gimpy leg. And it kept sliding away even though I put a not skid mat under it. I might go for that upgraded model if I could actually try it out first.

  23. So much to do before ACFW...could someone slow time for the next few days?

    Thank you!

Here's the thing...make yourself known if you're a Villager and we haven't met in person! Please!!! Sometimes my slow brain does not make a connection between a tiny pic on blog comments and the real live person...also I sometimes walk in a fog when I'm at a conference--a good fog, but still, I may be in my writing world rehashing what I just learned in the last workshop...so please, tug on my sleeve and say hi! Okay? Promise?

  24. Thanks for all the prayer power that I'm already feeling from those who won't be at ACFW.

Your support and prayers will get us there and back safely and then sustain us throughout the conference. Thank you!!!

In case you didn't know, I pray for each of you everyday...hope you feel the love!

    Hugs!

  25. Congrats to the winners!

  27. Hello
    I had a booksigning today
as always my standards for success for a thing like this are......I declare it a success if NO ONE IS KILLED!

Using those standards, it was a HUGE success.

    We are gatherers.

  32. Tina, have I mentioned lately how much I love that picture? I don't think I've mentioned it in WEEKS....

I bought a sassy summer skirt last night, like a Joseph's Coat of Many Colors skirt, all swirled in bright yellows/orange/turquoise/black.... WITH A RUFFLE!!!! Mandy made me try it on, and darn, if it wasn't the cutest thing!!!!! We were in Burlington with the NICEST SALES LADY EVER.... and we had fried ice cream before we shopped, and that's never a bad thing!!!!

So that was fun, fun, fun. Now back to writing today after a night off with girls!!!! (A man would not have appreciated the restaurant reparte, nor the shopping at Burlington that followed, LOL!)

  33. WHOO-HOO!!! Can't wait to see everybody at ACFW!!! THRILLED that the Teenster will be tweeting live from the awards banquet, but I have one question ... who's going to tweet for HER when she wins???

SUPER CONGRATS to the winners this week, and WHOA, BABY ... I'd download Audra's fab book IN A HEARTBEAT if I hadn't done so already when it first came out, so everybody -- DO. NOT. MISS. OUT!!!

YAY for the anti-bullying campaign -- where do I sigh up???

Great WE, Tina, and I'm praying for you, girl, to get everything done before you head to St. Loo.

    Hugs!!
    Julie
