I love the novella collections. There are always great short stories by great authors, many of my favorites and once in a while I even find a new author I enjoy.

Tina...I did catch your post over on the Yankee Belle Cafe the other day. Couldn't stay long enough to comment but I did enjoy reading the recipe for your Outback copy cat-Alice Springs chicken. I might just have to try it one day along with the honey mustard...yummy!

ReplyDelete"Back in the Saddle" has me lassoed! I haven't been able to stop reading since I picked it up! Colt and Nick could be me and my brother. He was older but I'm still the Colt character. It is so similar to us, it's spooky!
Happy Weekend, Wendy!! Your name is in the draw!
ReplyDeleteThanks Trixi.
ReplyDeleteThat is a scary good recipe!!!!

Rhonda, Jackie and Preslaysa: Happy dancing for you guys!!!! And Julie, congrats on having Isle of Hope final!!!! You must be delighted!
And I am way overusing exclamation points. Must be the lovely weather and having edits done.... and working on new projects.
Which is exactly what this farm gal is doing this weekend. Writing and working outside and having fun with cute kids. Who could ask for more?
Vince, I'm so glad you like it! I love that story and the premise of the three brothers.
ReplyDeleteAnd Angelina Morales is overwhelmingly mentioned in reviews as a favorite character, and that makes me happy because I love her. Her presence is such a tie that binds....
Thank you so much for getting it!
And Tina, too!!!!! WOWZA!!!!!!
How fun that they put it on sale, right???? Sending smooches to Waterbrook right now!
Trixi, you've got a lot going on! Bless you and have fun with it. These are the celebrations of life, and a New Zealand Mum??????

ReplyDeleteYay Leanne! I'm so happy for you!
The cover for the 12 Brides of Summer Collection is beautiful! I'm currently reading A Heart Full of Christmas collection by the Seekers. I love to read Christmas novellas when it's 90 degree and 100% humidity outside. :)

ReplyDeleteLEANNE!!!!! IT'S FIREWORKS TIME!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!
I'M NOT SURE RUTHY'S CYBER COFFEE IS GOING TO DO IT FOR ME TODAY! I MAY NEED THE REAL THING. LOL
ReplyDeleteI took the caplocks off. It made me sound a little insane.
ReplyDeleteHi Ruth:
ReplyDeleteI'm with Nick!
I don't think I'd want those two precious little girls riding horses either! The saddest movie I ever went to as a child was: "Gone With The Wind".
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6ZlwezKaqg
I don't think kids under 10 should be allowed to see that movie! We came into the movie after it had started and when the intermission came, I asked my father to take us home...which he did. I've never seen the whole GWTW movie. And I have never wanted to.
Vince
LeAnne! I'm thrilled beyond words for you. We've done a few contests together over the last few years. I know how much you wanted "the call". I remember when Jill Weatherholt got her call too. I'm rooting for you both and waiting to join the ranks.
ReplyDeleteAre you going to RWA National? I'd like to meet up with Seekers or frequent posters, if anyone is going.
Hi Mary:
ReplyDeleteIf I might ask: How were you and your cowboy about letting your four little girls ride horses? Were you like Nick or Colt? (Of course, a guy with a horse's name, is not the most objective source.)
Was it ballet or barrel racing?
Tutus or tack?
In the rodeos I've been to the best event is always the little girls who barrel race. You want to see cute: check the below clip of a four year old rodeo girl barrel racing!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWJ7Rd0gsug
I guess the under five year olds must wear a helmet.
Vince

Aw...thanks, Renee. We're rooting for you too! Stick with Seekerville and it will happen. :)
ReplyDeleteI need a class in speed-reading ... One in speed-writing would be awesome too!
ReplyDeleteGreat WE with tons of fun links, and Back in the Saddle is available ... Whoot! :)
12 Brides of Summer is here (such a fun collection to be part of!)
AND LEANNE's first sale!! Congratulations girl! Time to party! :)
What a week! Congratulations to LEANNE on your sale and to all the contest winners and finalists!
ReplyDeleteMARY, with caps lock on, you don't sound insane. You just sound effervescent like JULIE! ;-D
Well, today is going to be interesting. Our next-door neighbors are having a backyard wedding. They've been primping the yard all week. Yesterday a bunch of wedding-style chairs, decorations, canopy, etc., were delivered. And we've had afternoon thunderstorms nearly every day this week. Hope the happy couple doesn't get rained on!
Also hoping we can keep our doggies from barking at all the extra traffic expected on our street! Oh, well, the neighbors have two yapping dogs of their own that sometimes drive us crazy.
Hi, please put my name in the hat. LEANNE, congratulations!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for such a great WE, TINA! So much good news!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations LEANNE on your first sale!! So happy for you! And JULIE, congratulations to you, and RHONDA, JACKIE AND PRESLAYSA!!
I'm off to read the links, and do a little book shopping :-) Have a great weekend everyone!
Wow -- such exciting news this WE. Congrats to all the finalists and to Leanne. Woohoo! Awesomesauce (which is my new favourite word.) I've only read a few of the links so far. Have to get to the market before it gets to dreadfully steamy hot outside.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Leanne...I'll be looking for it!
ReplyDeleteJulie I'm glad the judges were intelligent judges, the book was a winner from the get go!
Congrats to all the other winners!
Thank you TINA, for taking the time to put out a great WE!
Congratulations to all those winners. Way to go!
ReplyDeleteAll this productivity makes me feel lazy.
Glad Ruth made the coffee.
Woowhoo!! Congrats to all the winners! Love seeing Christian fiction booming :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the winners! I love these stories so I can connect with some of my favorite authors and learn some new ones too. Put my name in the hat for the book and will continue to follow y'all.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful for Leanne on her first sale and Rhonda, Jackie and Preslaysa on their contest wins and Julie on being a finalist! Applause all around!

Congrats to all the winners!!
ReplyDeletePlease drop my into the hat for the collection! I do
enjoy collections from my fav authors!
SO excited for Leanne! Congrats to the contest winners. Looking forward to reading more from all of you
ReplyDeleteHello! Thank you all so much for all the congratulations! Someone needs to tell my 9 month old granddaughter to give me a few minutes break so I can respond to all the emails, tweets and well wishes! I finally got her down for a nap, so maybe I can start catching up. A few days of babysitting and I'm exhausted. Not sure how I managed 3 kids under the age of 6!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Rhonda, Jackie & Preslaysa on the Fab Five! Contests are such a great way to get feedback. The Pages From the Heart is going on right now and really needs your inspirational entries! (Sorry for the plug!)
I'm so excited to start this new journey and I have to say it absolutely would not have been possible without Seekerville. I've learned so much from these wonderful ladies! This is the first site I go to when I need to fix plot problems, need editing tips, ect. Not to mention that it was through Seekerville that I met my fabulous critique partners and I credit them so much with pushing me to be better.
And Renee, YES!!!! I'm going to RWA nationals! I would love to meet up with everyone! We should organize a FB group or email loop or something!
I just had my third cup of non-cyber coffee as I was working with black rubber for the pond rebuild....
ReplyDeleteIt was that or kill someone.
VINCE!!!!!
I don't like Scarlett at all, the little witch, so GWTW isn't on the "let's watch" list around here. (Julie knows this and loves me anyway).
But I love girls doing tough, cool things. No barriers, no bars, no holds barred. :)
Although we couldn't afford horses. And I did pay for dancing and gymnastics lessons, but if I'd been on a ranch, oh my stars... they'd all be ridin' and ropin'!
I hope you're enjoying the book, I love Colt and Nick. And Trey is a huge favorite hero of mine.
He's got the heart of a cowboy and the soul of a crooner....
Welcome Connie Brown!! Your name is in the hat or cat dish, as the case may be.
ReplyDeleteHi Becky in Ohio. You are in.
ReplyDeleteC Patterson, you are in.
I should be going to RWA, it's a two hour drive for me. Sigh. But Sandra Leesmith is the only Seeker going. I think NYC wore us out last year.
ReplyDeleteBe sure to go to the FHL meeting and you will see everyone who stops by Seekerville.
Save the Date! FHL’s Annual General Meeting (open to the public, free, even to non-conference attendees) will take place during the RWA conference on Wednesday July 13th from 1-4 p.m. We’ll have refreshments, praise & worship, 2nd annual inspirational editor and agent panel, and final results of FHL’s Touched By Love Award and Inspirational Reader’s Choice Award. While the exact room is TBD, the AGM meeting will be in a conference room on the SanDiego Marriott Marquis & Marina property. We will announce the room assignment closer to July 13.
YAY, winners in so many ways!!

Congrats
Congratulations to all the winners this week including those in contests.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Leanne.
I am hoping to get some writing done tonight. Yesterday was a rough day with family conflict and being accused of not living in reality because I read and write. Then I received some not so good news from the doctor. If this new antibiotic does not do its trick I may be facing another hospital stay. Anyway the Lord is good and I am rejoicing in the Lord.
I hope everyone has a great weekend
Bonton, thank you.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone seen this book on a shelf?
It's shipping and we're doing giveaways and I haven't been to the city much lately, especially not to a bookstore.
I just wondered if it was getting distributed.
Thank you for another FANTASTIC WE! Congratulations to this weeks' winners!!!

ReplyDeleteHi Ruth:
ReplyDeleteI'm just having the best time reading "Back in the Saddle". I'm having several bad days in a row and your book is my one bright spot!
I must say that you have one of the most memorable kisses I've read in romances. From the heart of a raging fire to a direct experience of time itself. Readers will love it!
The next example especially hits close to home.
An old woman is talking to the hero about her husband:
"He’s got the Alzheimer’s, and I couldn’t take care of him, the critters, and the place. About six years back, when he started to get sick, we moved here.” She pointed to a small gray village house behind him, east of the square and untouched by the fire.
“Easier for Coach that way?” Colt asked, but was surprised when she shook her head.
“I thought it would be, but once he got in town, he spent the next three years trying to find his way back home. Only home was gone, of course.”
I had a next door neighbor, a scientist, who we'd known for over two decades. At the end, he'd come over to our house with a Tulsa city map and ask me to point out where the 'real' Tulsa was.
The Tulsa he was no seeing did not match the Tulsa in his mind. He did this several times over the next few months.
Finally he came over with a twenty dollar bill. "Please take me to the other Tulsa. I'll give you this twenty dollars if you do."
I called his wife and told her what had happened. I told her that he would eventually find someone who would take him for a ride and maybe for a lot more than twenty dollars. She just cried on the phone. "I just can't handle it anymore."
Like Coach, he was off to a care center.
Vince
Hi Tina:
ReplyDeleteI just noticed that you'd asked me a question.
"Can I ride a horse?"
Well, in a way, I can. I've ridden horses several times in my life but I think I was the inspiration for Big and Rich's,
"Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy"
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qt0_oPPK6eA )--
Every time I was coming down on the saddle, the horse was going up.
Now, in physics they teach that when two moving objects collide head on it doubles the impact.
So while I can ride a horse, I won't. I'd rather jump out of an airplane or parasail. At least the ground is not headed up to smack you halfway down. : )
Vince
Hooray for all the Seekers and Villagers successes!!! Especially Leanne's first sale. *Snoopy dancing* I love seeing all the awesome news. Seekerville rocks.
ReplyDeletePlease put my name in the cat dish for the collection. Gotta love those. Great WE Tina. Thanks!!!
Good grief! Just realized I never commented after I read the WE yesterday! Okay ... congrats to one and all. Special cheers for Leanne :-)

Nancy C
