Waving to Rhonda and Patti Jo! Where's Connie? So wonderful seeing you this past week. Connie flew in from Dallas...and Rhonda drove to my part of the world from Alabama. Those two had planned a writing retreat, and then, I butted in and said, "Let's do lunch at my house." Patti Jo joined us and the rest is history. We talked non-stop about writing and Seekerville! How fun is that! A lot of fun! I'm hoping it becomes a yearly get-together. :)

Tina, I just read the article on book sales, platform, and marketing (Bad Redhead Media). She recommended a book by Barb Drozdowich titled The Author's Platform: A Beginners Guide. I hopped on Amazon and bought it for $2.99. Now THAT'S how marketing works. :-)
ReplyDeleteBarbara, that sounds like a book I need to read!
ReplyDeleteTina, thanks for sharing the Daphne results. Congrats to Lynette Eason for the overall Daphne win! A huge achievement!

ReplyDeleteJanet
Happy WE everyone!!!! I've always wondered where Christmas in July originated from, anyone know?? Would be an interesting research project :-)
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the winners, both authors and readers alike. I've seen SO many of my favorite authors win various awards for their books. I'm so excited for each one of them!!! What an awesome feeling it must be :-)
Thanks for the heads-up on the Gilead Blog Cover Reveal and Giveaway Opportunity. I definitely took advantage of that one. Scented candles are among some of my favorite things (cue the Sound of Music song, lol)!

Laughing at Janet's advice on discipline... because I can't imagine anyone giving The Teeeeeenster a hard time!
ReplyDeleteWe had a family reunion up here in upstate, Dave's family this time.... so special.
An amazing bunch of people "The race that knows Joseph" and they're simply marvelous. It's a blessing, for sure!!!
I've got kids here all this week, so my summer has stretched back to full-time work... and fitting writing in before kids get here, but I refuse to wish my summer away. We wait too long for it up here!
But it's busy and hot... and I'm on my THIRD CHRISTMAS STORY... this one for 2017, the others were for 2016.
So I'm cooling off with Christmas music and thoughts of eggnog!
And CHRISTMAS IN JULY!!!!!
JACKIE!!! Way to go, girlfriend, soooooooo proud of you!! And you need an updated pic, my friend, wearing the Golden Heart necklace instead of the star. Although, you are CERTAINLY a "star" in our book! ;)
ReplyDeleteSUPER CONGRATS to all our winners!!
Tina, no offense, but I'm gonna pass on hummus and go straight for Ruthy's cheesecake with fudge topping! Of course, I realize hummus is brain food, which is why the WEs are always so chock-full of fabulous info, no doubt!!
