  1. Tina, picked up Women's world now to get the pain meds to allow me to read and I will be set. It is hard not reading.

I have a twisted disc in my lower back that the doctor says it is like a cousin to sciatica so the only choice is to take care of it by resting and exercising. I was trying to wean myself off the pain meds which is making me do and say crazy things. I have been known to fall asleep while eating, standing and various other times.

Julie I have not had a chance to purchase Love Everlasting so please put me in the drawing for a copy. One of these days my body will allow me to read.

Trusting the Lord through all this. I know in His time I will heal. Time to take another pill and then I will head to bed.

I am so thankful for all of you.

    5. Whoops ... wrote a separate comment to you below, Wilani, 'cause I'm not used to this reply mode, but I do like it. So here's what I said:

Oh, WILANI, I am soooooo sorry about the twisted disc in your lower back, ESPECIALLY if the doctor says it is like a cousin to sciatica because I have sciatica in periodically on both sides of my lower back/butt, and it is NOT fun!! When it happens, I walk like I'm 90 years old, hunched over and toddling really slow like Tim Conway when he plays the little old man. Saying a prayer for you right now, my friend, not only that it goes away, but that you win LE, so GOOD LUCK!!

      Hugs,
      Julie

  5. While most years I keep crazy at bay during December, this year we're having two floors re-finished. That means for the next five days, everything and its brother is out of place in three rooms.... and there will be five children here playing today while Dave and Seth tear out the carpet and subflooring to the original antique floors in this VERY OLD house!

It should be a very interesting weekend at Ruthy's Place! In the meantime, it's 4:30 AM and this is my shot to get some writing in, so enjoy this wonderful Saturday, my friends!

    1. Kelly, they come back around! I promise!!!

    2. Oh, Kelly, I used to love making Christmas cookies with my kiddos, although I was a bit on the anal side, taking 20 minutes to decorate a snowman like it was a work of art. I would give out about 30 mini rum cake & cookie platters to neighbors and friends every year, all wrapped up in red cellophane and bows, so I was a mite particular about the cookies. Problem is, my kids always wanted to eat mine, not theirs ... ;) I wish I could do it all differently now, not giving a whit about perfection and focusing more on the fun.

And you're in the draw for LE, so GOOD LUCK!

      HUGS,
      Julie

    3. Julie....I giggled about your Christmas cookie adventures. I can identify. As I mature (sounds better than "get older," I've learned that perfection isn't ALL THAT.

    4. Oh, CYNTHIA, I am sooooooo glad I am not alone. I always feel like a bad mom for being too perfectionist, but I've definitely loosened up A LOT with my grands, so who said you can't each an old dog new tricks?? It just takes a little longer. ;)

A new Kindle -- WHOO-HOO!! You are going to LOVE that my, friend, and you may never have to buy a book again because Amazon has top-100 lists for free books in every genre PLUS you can sign up for Inspired Reads, which sends you an email daily with free and sale books!

  16. GOOD MORNING, SEEKERVILLE AND YIKES -- ONLY 14 DAYS TILL CHRISTMAS!!!

Wonderful We, Teenster, as always, and I cannot WAIT to dive into Audra's Christmas Cowboy, Tina's WW "A Christmas Match," and Rocky Mountain Cowboy as my Christmas treats! And I highly encourage everyone to read Tina's The Christmas Angel, because it's WONDERFUL!!

Thanks to everyone for the congrats on the release of the paperback version of Love Everlasting! For some reason this one took a lot more effort to put together than my other indie books, and not really sure why, especially since it's almost half the size of Isle of Hope! And, yes, Ruthy, I am finally learning to writer shorter books, hard as that is to believe. I think the novellas have been training me! ;)

Thanks, Tina, for your sweet comment about the cover. The colors are definitely my favorite (always been a lavender girl), so I like it too. Killion does a great job on covers, although like everyone else, I come up with the concepts for them to implement.

    Hugs and Happy Weekend, all!

    1. Thanks, CONNIE, that's my diabolical plan, I'm afraid! ;) I actually wasn't planning on a paperback for LE because it's really the e-sales where most authors (or at least me) make their money back on indies, but I decided to do it for the handful of die-hard paperback readers who have contacted me, asking when the paperback would be out. So trust me, it's definitely not for monetary profit, but the return via wonderful reader friends? Priceless! :)

    1. Gosh, JACKIE, seriously? I have to admit I am a paperback defector, almost exclusively an e-book reader at this point.

In fact, Denise Hunter is one of my favorite authors and since I'm an influencer/endorser for her, I always get a free paperback from her publisher. Well, I am DYING to read her latest, Just a Kiss, which I've had in paperback for months now, but I mostly read at night in bed, and since I don't want to keep my hubby up with the light on OR use one of those annoying little clip-on lights that I used to use before ebooks, I've been putting it off. Sigh. Which is fine since I have several other books -- Tina's and Audra's among them -- I want to read before Christmas. :)

Here's to an win, my friend, and if you don't win and you buy the paperback, just let me know, and I will send you a signed bookplate, okay? Although I'll be honest -- I'm one of those rare readers who doesn't understand why anyone would want to mar up a crisp, fresh new paperback with an inscription or signature. ;)

      Hugs,
      Julie

  24. Tina, have you had some WW stories in back-to-back issues??? Seems like every Weekend Edition announces another story getting published! Thanks! And thanks for including our furbabies. A photo of Cass is on the way, representing all of us at May the K9 Spy. :)

He and I are heading to a gig here in a few minutes, a book signing with Mr & Mrs Claus and the Grinch. :)

Tried to sign up for Tina's newsletter, only to be told I already was so - GOOD! Didnt' want to miss it.

Congrats Julie. Lots of wonderful things happening with you!

Looks like great lineup next week.

    Merry Christmas one and all!

And, thanks for your prayers. Still no sign of our beloved Anna dog. Gone over 2 weeks now. It was about 14 degrees last night, so we know God provides and pray that she was warm and fed and safe, wherever she is. We're still putting out flyers and posting signs. A man in a C-store quite a few miles from us said he'd seen her photo on Facebook. Ah, the power of social media, for good. :)
We sure hope to find her soon, or to hear her greeting coming through the doggie door. <3

    Merry Christmas one and all.

    2. Oh, KC, sending more prayers up right now, my friend, because that is soooo hard, isn't it?

We had a golden once who ran away the week before Christmas, and we were heartbroken. Prayed like crazy and constantly went looking, but to no avail. Until we got a call many days later from someone who knew Ben (our dog), saying she couldn't be sure because he was dirty, but she thought she might have seen a golden running with a pack of dogs down by the river. We jumped in the car and tore off for the river road and actually found him in a ravine with the pack. The minute we called him, he came running, filthy and full of burrs, but SO glad to see us!! But not as glad as we were, sobbing and crying and hugging him like crazy, burrs and all. :)

May God bring you the best Christmas gift of all this year with the return of your precious Anna.

      Hugs!
      Julie

    1. LOL, BARB ... that would be good if the tree turned up before Santa.

But I will admit you sound a wee bit like me last year -- we never put the tree up because we'd just moved months prior and since nobody would see it but us, it didn't make any sense.

But ... I am happy to say that we got the tree up the first week of November this year so we could enjoy it during Hallmark movies, especially since our time enjoying it would be cut short with various trips.

I wish you and yours a happy, healthy, and holy holiday season, Barb!

And what a fun WE! I opened all the articles in separate tabs in my browser to read throughout the day. So many good resources!

Great WE TINA. 14 Days till Christmas, 11 days till I see TINA and Sandra. Yippee! Sent in the pic of my baby (CeZar) to Ruthy. Putting Julie's HOPE series (in paperback) on my list from Amazon! (Is GLIMMER of Hope in paperback as well?)
Hope you are feeling better soon, Wilani.

    1. Oh, MARIANNE, I sure would love to join you guys, but I'll be someplace WAY colder ... brrrrr ...

Unfortunately, A Glimmer of Hope is not in paperback, but I hope to get it there someday soon. AFTER I rewrite it and embellish with more back-history. I've had a number of readers tell me they wanted to see more about Tess and Ben's marriage backgrounds, so I'm going to add that eventually. :)

      Hugs and GOOD LUCK!!

  38. Congrats to all the winners. We've been getting a lot of snow up here in Ohio, in three days we've gotten about two feet of snow, we have to shovel the deck just so our little puppy can go outside.

  40. FANTASTIC WE, Tina. The links are super, particularly the Jane Friedman one about evaluating small publishers. I've bookmarked several links and printed out others. Lots of good info.

Congrats to all you winners! And thanks to all you writers for sticking with a crazy business :-)
