ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the Maggie finalists. And congratulations to Myra, I read that book and it is really good.
A rising tide lifts ALL boats, or something like that. We all win when some of us win.
Kathy Bailey
Kathy you're so right. Been on air for days and NEVER wanna come down.
DeleteSo glad you enjoyed my book, Kathy!
DeleteSharee, enjoy these moments. How exciting for you!
I am looking forward to the blog posts this week. I want to hear what Misty has to say about the street teams. I've been focusing on craft and not thinking about marketing, but The Day Will Come...Also looking forward to Myra's and Julie's posts, they always have something good to say. And I'm doing the retreat if I'm not at my temp job.
ReplyDeleteEditing two drafts and working on contest entries.

DeleteWhat an amazing week of winners!
ReplyDeleteMyra, CONGRATULATIONS on your NERFA award! That’s huge!
Shout out to all the Maggie Finalists!! And a big hug to my sisters, Tanya Agler, and Laura Conner Kestner!!
Tina, I’m still giggling about Sharee like Marie. Just think of all those years of mispronunciations that I could’ve resolved with a rhyme.
I’m convinced it takes a Village to write a book. (no groaning--I know it’s cliché but it is the truth!) And the best part is celebrating with the village afterward. Thank you, thank you Seekerville for the wisdom you share every day. And let’s not forget the fabulous prizes. 😊
Thank you, Sharee!! And without Tina's tip, I would have continued calling you "Sherry." I love "Sha-REE." Such a pretty name! Congrats again on your contract--just fabulous, fabulous news!!!
DeleteI only recently learned that, so sharing. It was a stunning shock to me to me Jeanne T at ACFW and learn she was Jean not JEANNIE. Really, you get it in your head and you can't get it out.
DeleteSo I wanted to retrain my brain now. And I know another ShaREE so it helped.
So thrilled for you, SHAREE!!! Thanks for sharing your call moment - it gave me goosebumps. Looking forward to reading your book!
DeleteCan't miss saying CONGRATS to Tanya Agler....a GA girl like me I think and maybe 50 mi. from me! YAY, Tanya!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jackie Smith. Yep, I'm a GA girl. I love looking out my window this week. Everything is so green and fresh right now after all the rain we've had. Thanks so much.
DeleteOOOOH and a FREE retreat! Count me in!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely looking forward to this week. Street teams YES! Writerly things a must! The Tease with Julie double yes!
Wow! This issue of WE is packed with so many links and good news. Congratulations to all of this week's prize winners; to the many 2017 Maggie Finalists and to Sharee Stover for her first sale to Love Inspired Suspense. Also kudos to Myra Johnson for her book Castles in the Clouds being named a winner.
ReplyDeleteI WOULD LOVE TO WIN A COPY of Castles in the Clouds.
I would also love a chance to win one of the 2017 RITA finaling books.
I WANT A LOVE INSPIRED COUPON!
Thanks Seekerville for the chance to win some great prizes today.

Connie
cps1950(at)gmail(dot)com
Thanks, Connie! Just delighted with how well this book has been received!
DeleteSo much good news! Congratulations to Myra, and to all the Maggie finalists.
ReplyDeleteAnd a HUGE shout-out to SHAREE!!!! Congratulations on your sale to LIS!!! Happy dancing for you in Mississippi!

DeleteThank you so much, Pam!!
DeleteWow, TINA, you weren't kidding! This is a packed WE!
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS to all Maggie finalists! Wonderful news!
CONGRATS TO SHAREE! So excited for you! *clink* (This morning's flavor is a strong dark-roasted blend.) :-)
Hope everyone has a restful weekend! (Our fam's heading to see the new Spiderman movie...then our fave Mexican place for dinner. Should be fun!)
Would love to have my name thrown in for Myra's Castle in the Clouds!
Thanks, Cynthia! Mexican sounds good to me, too! Let us know what you think of the Spiderman movie. I'm hoping we can see Wonder Woman this weekend.
DeleteI want to see that one, too! (I got out-voted. Lol)
DeleteCynthia, you had me at mexican food. YUMMY! And as long as there's popcorn, I'm game for Spiderman.
DeleteCynthia! That reminds me. Just read your newsletter. Enjoyed!!!!!
DeleteThank you, Tina!
DeleteGreat WE, TINA!
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS, SHAREE!
CONGRATS to all the winners!
Thank you Caryl!!!
DeleteJust adding my congratulations to all our winners this weekend--especially to my fellow Maggie finalists and to Sharee on becoming a Love Inspired Suspense author!!!
ReplyDeleteCan't believe that after eight months, we're down to just over two weeks now until our daughter and family leave on their next missions assignment. My house looks like a giant packing box! The house is going to feel SOOOO empty when they're gone. :(
Thanks Myra! I can empathize with you. When my oldest goes back to college, I miss her something awful.
DeleteWonderful News About "Lifetime Investment" coming out as a Standalone!
ReplyDeleteI think "Lifetime Investment" makes a great story for authors as well as romance fans. I just posted a review on Amazon on how Myra makes exemplary use of a major historical event to create strong page-turning anticipation in readers with a knowledge of the history of that time.
I loved this approach and would love to see more significant history worked into historical romances. This is one historical novella that deserves a solo in the spotlight!
As a historical story, it will never become dated and at its low price, it's definitely a sound lifetime investment in good reading. :)
I suggest giving it a look-see.
Vince
Thank you so much for posting a review, Vince! Deeply appreciated--along with your kind words about the story! Truly honored!
DeleteAnother great WE, Tina! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to all the winners!!
"THE TEASE … Great Scene/Chapter Endings to Lead Your Readers On."
ReplyDeleteOh, Boy, A tease is not something guys want anything to do with! Especially ones that 'lead you on'. Because, if you deliver, then it's not a tease, is it?
I have to question the use of the word 'tease' and suggest the word 'seduction' instead.
"THE SEDUCTION... Great Scene/Chapter Endings to Lead Your Readers On"
Isn't that better? And more 'edgy, too'?
Just a non-distaff POV. :)
Wow, the Weekend Edition is chock full of great news and tons of winners!! Thrilled for Myra's contest win!! Happy dancing for Sharee's sale to LIS!!
ReplyDeleteJanet
That call really made my day, Janet! Thanks!
DeleteMs. Janet thank you for dancing with me!!
DeleteMyra and Sharee, you're probably floating on air! Enjoy every minute!
DeleteJanet
Wow -- so much good news -- this is like party central today. Congrats to Myra and to the Maggie Finalists and supercalifragilisticexpialidocious congrats to Sharee. I ADORE Love Inspired Suspense so I'm excited to get reading her debut novel when it gets published. Woot!
ReplyDeleteToday I am matching wits with a discerning squirrel is intent on breaking through my kitchen window in order to pilfer the cookies I've been baking all morning. I admit they smell divine (they are Tina's oatmeal cookie recipe from a New Year bash a few years ago.) Mr. Squirrel is very determined...and kinda cute...until he starts chewing at the the window screen. I've tried to get photos but he's camera shy. Ack...I hear the scrabbling sound of furry feet on the wall...gotta dash.
Oh, I love that recipe. Yum. Be right there.
DeleteOh, no!! Bad squirrel!! :)
DeleteThanks, Kav!
DeleteHow funny about the squirrel! They can be soooo determined. Maybe you can save him one cookie. :)
Kav, thank you!! I once had a squirrel at my job that knocked (yes seriously) on the window glass if I failed to put peanuts on the windowsill. The one time I ran out of peanuts, he urinated on the windowsill. True story. Bad squirrel.
DeleteOh my goodness, Sharee--how funny! Silly squirrel!
DeleteCongrats and blessings to all the Maggie finalists and to the newest LIS author, Sharee!!
ReplyDeleteAnd, Tina, thanks for another fabulous weekend edition of Seekerville! Whew...
I spent a few days at our ranch in the remote northeastern corner of California...internet is VERY sporadic...have to drive into town (18 miles) to get WiFi!! LOL Great place to focus on writing, though!
Praying everyone has a joy-filled weekend!
18 miles from wifi!! Oh, my! That might inspire some withdrawl. LOL
DeleteThank you!!! Now you can tell folks "I had to drive 18 miles, uphill both ways for my WiFi." Giggle.
DeleteMissy: Yes...it is kind of hard when trying to keep up with the antique business!!
DeleteSharee: Hahaha...good one for the grands! They get a bit frustrated with unconnectedness! LOL
Congratulations Myra and all the Maggie finalists!!
ReplyDeleteAnd Sharee!! Woo hoo!!! So happy for you!!
Thank you, Missy!
DeleteYay!! Thanks Missy!
DeleteTina, thank you for letting us know how to pronounce Sharee's name! I've been saying it in my head like Sherry! :)
ReplyDeleteGiggle. I've been called Sherry since kindergarten so I have been known to answer to it too. :)
DeleteTaking a break from editing, editing and more editing!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Myra! I'm so happy for all your good news! And congrats to the Maggie finalists! A very prestigious contest, so be proud!
And congrats to Sharee! How exciting to get your first contract!
It's finally a sunny day here. We've had enough rain to warrant an ark here!
Wishing everyone a great weekend!
Cheers,
Sue
Thanks, Sue!
DeleteIt's been a very rainy summer in NC. Seems almost every afternoon we have a pop-up thunderstorm.
Hi Sue, please send some rain our way! It's so hot!! Thank you too!!
DeleteAnother thunderstorm just hit. Oh joy. At least we got some pool time at the community center with the grands this afternoon.
DeleteSuch an exciting weekend in Seekerville! Congratulations to the Maggie finalists. Congratulations Myra on your win and please enter me in the drawing for your book.
ReplyDeleteSpecial congratulations to my fellow Nebraskan, Sharee, on getting the Call from Love Inspired. I am so looking forward to reading it. (And I did know how to pronounce her name!)
Now I must get back to writing.
Hi Sandy!! **waving from the North side** I can't wait for you to read it too!!
DeleteThanks, Sandy! Exciting times in Seekerville!
DeleteWow! Lots happening in Seekerville. Congratulations to Myra (Please enter me for Castle in the Clouds!), to all the Maggie finalists, and to Sharee for her SOLD status!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the WE, Tina. Looks like I missed a great week. I'll be reading the posts from last week and the links this afternoon.
Happy reading and writing to all!
Thanks Sherida!
DeleteThank you, Sherida! Fun week! I'm way behind on checking out those links, too. One of these days . . .
DeleteOOOH yes, please enter me for Castle in the Clouds too!
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure!

So excited to pick a Carol Award finaling book. Whew! What a fun weekend, thank you Seekerville!
ReplyDeleteHi, Laura! Yes, it has been a great weekend in Seekerville! Thank you!
DeleteWow! This WE is overflowing with good news!
ReplyDeleteSHAREE, congratulations on your First Sale! May it be the first of many, many more. It's always so much fun to see a Villager published.
MYRA, I whooped so loudly when I read via RWA that you won the NERFA -- surely you heard me all the way from Texas to North Carolina :-)
Congratulations to ALL you Maggie finalists -- and to this week's winners!
Thanks for the links. The one about the unglamorous life of a writer was a delight.
Have any of you published writers ever been bumped up to First Class because the ticket agent read your books? Or received a free drink at the drive-thru? It would be fun to hear the Seeker and Villager stories in that regard.
So much talent gathered here :-)
Nancy C
Oh, that would be so fun, Nancy! Never happened to me, though. I am very "invisible" in my everyday life.
DeleteThis reminds me of Joan Wilder, Romancing the Stone.
DeleteTHE Joan Wilder?
Great clip! Thanks!
DeleteNancy C
One of my favorite movies!
DeleteI want a love inspired coupon.
ReplyDeleteI hope everyone is having a good weekend.
Congratulations to all the winners! It seems there is a long list of winners this week from the maggie awards to Sharee to the weekly winners.
Amazing WE, Tina. And it looks like a super week of posts. I hope I can sneak over (away from my boys' crazy schedules) and read some of them.
ReplyDeleteSharee--Congratulations on your first sale! That is so exciting!
I WANT A LOVE INSPIRED COUPON!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Contest Diva, Sharee Stover on your first sale!!! #boomshakalaka :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by and joining the party, Megan.
DeleteI'm sneaking in here at 8 min to midnight going in to Sunday! We were away all day but please put me in the draws for Castle In The Clouds and the RITA Finalists! And more congratulations to all the gals who finaled in the Maggie and every other contest. Sharee - you know I've been Snoopy dancing for you since your Call! WOW! You've proven it can be done. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Laurie! Hope you had a fun Saturday!
DeleteI want it all! 😂 congratulations Sharee! A first sale is awesome. Congrats to all the finalists. It has been an eventful week. As always Tina you put together a great WE.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the villain article! I'm buying the book.
DeleteSharee, so excited about your sale! Everytime someone gets The Call, the rest of us need to celebrate. The road to publication is usually long and bumpy, often filled with rejection and struggle. When a writer succeeds and gets a contract we can believe that the journey does lead to publication. Even published authors need motivation...and your good news is a shot in the arm (where did that phrase originate?) for all of us! Congrats, Sharee!
ReplyDeleteSo true, Debby! There's nothing like a little bit of encouraging news to keep us motivated to persevere!
DeleteMyra, congrats on your win and Maggie final! Love seeing your stories receive the praise they deserve!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Debby! I'm giving the praise to God for bringing me this far. Couldn't do this without Him!
DeleteAmen, Myra. I feel the same about my writing! Hugs!
DeleteCongrats to all the Maggie finalists! Hope to see you all at the M&M Conference!
ReplyDeleteStill thinking about it. Really hope it works out this year!
DeleteI haven't registered yet. Must do so ASAP!
DeleteDebby, I can't wait to see you at M&M! Hope you were able to register.
DeleteAnother Julie Lessman release! Congrats, Jules!
ReplyDeleteYipee!!! So excited to be the winner of a surprise package of books from last weekend - thank you!! Congratulations to all the winners! Congratulations to the Maggie Finalists, and to Myra for the NERFA win!! And a HUGE congrats to Sharee on her first sale - so happy for you!!! Thanks for the update on Julie's books and contest - and for all the interesting links! Great WE, Tina!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Laura!
DeleteI'm happy for all the Maggie finalists and for Myra's NERFA win. I'd like to read Castle in the Clouds, so please include me, thanks.
ReplyDeleteI think I reviewed Lifetime Investment in the collection, I'll go back and add that review on it as a single.
Congrats to Sharee for her LIS sale, awesome!
Thanks for the WE Tina, so much info to pull together and you do it so well, cave dwelling has its advantages!
Have a super Sunday all!
Thanks, Tracey! And naturally I appreciate any and all reviews. That means so much!

DeleteGracie, we're glad you stopped by!
DeleteSharee, I'm working this weekend but had to stop by and FIST-BUMP you! I'm so proud of you and all of your hard work and the fact that you can deal with Connealy on a REGULAR BASIS speaks well of you!
ReplyDeleteSo happy to have you on the Love Inspired team... you know how much I love working with them. Welcome aboard!
LOL, Ruthy! I think Mary was probably almost as excited as Sharee!
DeleteGiggle Mary's AWESOME!! We both have a twisted sense of humor. Thank you so much Ms. Ruthy, I am beyond twitterpated!!
DeleteWhat a terrific group winners! Congratulations Myra! Great going Sharee and congrats to all the Maggie award finalists. May you be blessed with many more victories!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Barbara!
DeleteThank you Barbara!!
DeleteUgh, I think I'm coming down with something. I hope not since that would put a major damper on my plans for next week, but I went to bed with a sore throat and it's only gotten steadily worse since then. I hope I don't have strep.
ReplyDeleteAnyway I'm wishing a (belated) happy weekend to y'all, and congrats to all the winners. Nice job Sharee on your first sale! That's got to be super exciting and I'm glad for you.
Nicki, I sure hope you don't have Strep. I know how badly it can knock you out. Hope you feel better and get to keep your plans!
