ReplyDeleteWhat an EXCITING October this will be!!
Great WE, as always - - and CONGRATS to all the winners!
Looking forward to this next week's posts - - and super excited about Tamera Alexander visiting on Thursday!! Love her AND her awesome books!! :)
She had an August release (TO WAGER HER HEART) and I am honored to have a reader endorsement featured in the book. :)
Seekerville is the BEST place and has the BEST parties!! Setting out my usual peach cobbler and Georgia pecan pie to snack on this weekend - Enjoy!
Birthday hugs, Patti Jo
You get around Patti Jo! Wow, that is very cool. I'll pick it up to get two great author's works in one book, even if it is you disguised as a reader. Your second job.
DeleteP.S. Sandy Smith, enjoy your trip! Sounds delightful!! :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to all the winners and an early Happy Birthday Seekerville! It's hard to believe another year has gone by. I'm looking forward to the celebration!
ReplyDeletePlease add me to the giveaway for Ruthy and Jillian's book. I love 'duos'.
Blessings,
Cindy W.
Not just another year. TEN YEARS. I keep looking around for them!
DeleteCindy, you're in... and I look back and see how many of us were still trying to get published when we started this... I think there were SIX of the original fifteen published when we started the blog.
Delete6/15
And about four years later, all of us had been offered royalty-paying contracts... and that had been the goal, to pray one another into publishing.
But the big give back was using Seekerville to help others.
A win/win, totally!
A great ten years!!!!
Congrats winners! I am looking forward to a great birthday celebration. I always get more words down during October. 10 years and still a great resource for all of us Seeker followers. Please throw my name in the drawing for Ruthy and Jillian's book. I love all the Christmas stories that start coming to the shelves this time of year. Happy last day of September!
ReplyDeletePrayers are appreciated for a pain in my side that Drs are making educated guesses about.
Thanks from Bettie who finally got brave enough to add a last name to the comments.
Bettie, thanks for the kind words. Praying for your pain. Woo hoo! Bettie Boswell is real and so is her picture.
DeleteOctober and November are big word months for me.
Just visited the 28 boring words site mentioned above. Maybe I'll create some word lists of my own. Hmmmm...
ReplyDeleteWaving from the Moonlight & Magnolias Conference!!! Cheering for all our Maggie nominations, pubbed and unpubbed!!! Had dinner with Cara and Missy last night...such fun!
ReplyDeleteSo excited about our Seekerville 10th Birthday! I can't believe OCT is almost here!
Sandy, your weekend getaway sounds delightful!
Hugs to all!
Have a great weekend Debby
DeleteWish I was there. M&M is so on my to-do list. Hi to Tanya, Cara and Missy too.
DeleteMe too Tina!
DeleteBecause of Seekerville, October is one of my favorite months. 31 days of Seekerville! Congratulations on starting year eleven. You all are amazing in your generosity and encouragement! Thanks for all you do for us!
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks, Jackie!
DeleteYes!! What Jackie said
DeleteThank you, Jackie!!!!!
DeleteHappy weekend! Congratulations to the winners. Ruthy, your book with Jillian Hart looks great. Sounds like a wonderful first week to get October celebration started. Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteIsn't that a gorgeous cover, Sally?? I am now singing holiday tunes.
DeleteLove that cover! It even looks like it's snowing!
DeleteLove that cover! It even looks like it's snowing!
DeleteTen years starts on Sunday! How did that happen. I feel much younger. TEN YEARS. I'm in shock. I may need to raid the fridge for the birthday cake. HA!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty confident birthday cake is an age reverser
DeleteI know the feeling, Tina! Where have the past 10 years gone??? And amazing that none of us has aged a day! 😉
DeleteTen years! Do you know how rare it is for a blog to survive that long? There's no better place to get an education in great writing than Seekerville. Thanks for being here and inspiring us for so many years.
ReplyDeleteHugs and warm wishes!!!
Barb, Barb, you're so right... I mentioned that when I nominated us for the Top 101 Best Writing Sites... to be increasing readership at this time is so totally against the grain!
DeleteBut then the whole goal of Seekerville is/was to help others. Not ourselves. (Although we never mind it when folks buy our books or give shout outs!!!) But this blog is all about the aspiring writer and the interested reader... and look what's happened with all that! :)
Love this post. Next week looks awesome. If anyone would like to join the countdown to 2018 by reaffirming goals, here's a free offering. Hope it's okay to share. http://www.midwestwriters.org/2017/09/mww-free-event-finish-strong-2017/ Christmas books are my favorites. Would love to win Ruthie's!
ReplyDeleteWOW! A countdown to 2018. It's amazing, though, what you can get done in these last 3 months of the year if you set your mind to it!
DeleteI love looking ahead to what can be accomplished! Three months is a wonderful space of time!!!
DeleteWell it is shaping up to be a good day and a great weekend. I won something, I went to the store yesterday and bought Ruthy's "Mistletoe Family" and Glynna's "Mountain Country Cowboy," and my own writing is going rather well. I was a little worried about quitting the day job, I was afraid I wouldn't stay motivated, but I got seized by a story and characters I can't wait to get back to each day. So there's that. Discipline isn't a problem right now, but I can see where I could hit the wall. And I do love the October birthday month. What fun! Two more days of live Seekerville posts, who knows what we'll all accomplish.
ReplyDeleteKathy Bailey
Thank you, Kathy! Good to know that Mountain Country Cowboy made it to New Hampshire! :) It's my 13th published book and I still can't get over the amazement that people find them in stores all over the country. Still doesn't seem REAL.
DeleteSo wonderful that you're transitioning from the day job and staying motivated to write!
Kathy, I love the phrase "I got seized by a story and characters"! Love when that happens!
DeleteAnother great WE! So excited for Seekerville's month of birthday celebration 🎉
ReplyDeletePlease toss me in for the drawing of Ruthie and Jillian's Christmas book! Can't get my holiday reading stated soon enough.
I'm ready for birthday cake! Let's get this party started. 😁
Congratulations on your 10th birthday, Seekerville. Seekerville is always my favorite place to visit.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on ten years of hard work, dedication and support, ladies. You all are the reason I celebrated my first book release this year. I'm forever grateful for your guidance and wisdom.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mary...I received TOO FAR DOWN last night...woot! I loved the goodies. The cowboy hat jar opener is adorable. xo
Good morning, Jill! So glad you've been a part of Seekerville! What's in the works after "Second Chance Romance" ?
DeleteHappy birthday, Seekerville! Can't wait to celebrate all month! Please put my name in for your contest. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHappy last day of September and Happy 10th birthday. It sounds like a wonderful month to visit Seekerville. Congratulations to all of the winners and please put my name in Ruthy's drawing.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Connie

Hi, Connie -- I can't believe today's the last day of September already! Aspens are turning in the northern Arizona mountains now. Pine needles and pinecones falling from the ponderosas. I'm hoping this is a nice LONG autumn--not ready to shovel snow just yet! :)
DeleteIt's cold and rainy in NH. I am going to finish my work on computer and spend rest of day drinking tea and reading Christian fiction. Unless I'm writing Christian fiction.
ReplyDeleteKB
Kathy--that sounds like a WONDERFUL way to spend a rainy day!
DeleteWOW. A decade has passed. I can't believe how the time has flown! Happy birthday to our "community"--and thank you to all our faithful Friends of Seekerville who keep things alive and fresh!
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! Happy birthday, Seekerville! I'm so happy (and blessed) to be here for the celebration! Next week looks fabulous! Heading over to Writer's Digest to vote now! Who's with me? :)
ReplyDeleteKaren, I'm heading over that way after I post my comments here.
DeleteYooHoooooo... Karen, how's the sequel coming???? ;-)
DeleteI'm so looking forward to this month! Birthday cake everyday!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to all the winners.
Happy Birthday Seekerville.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to all the winners this week.
I would love a copy of Ruthie's book.
I am so grateful for Seekerville.
Happy 'early' Blogoversary!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDelete"Blogoversary" -- love it! :)
DeleteWow! Ten years! I've learned so much from this site, and reading back through the previous posts has taught me so much, and advanced my writing skills. Such a giving and loving community of readers and writers. I feel so blessed to be able to spend ten more years with you all.
ReplyDeleteWould love to be entered for the duo book, and am looking forward to all the cake and goodies for next month.
Happy Birthday, Seekerville!
God Bless You All.
Marcia
p.s. I forgot to thank Glynna Kaye for my copy of Mountain Country Cowboy. Your personal note meant so much to me. This is one of the reasons why I love Seekerville!
DeleteYou're welcome, Marcia! Hope you enjoy it! This time of year I feel like hibernating with a stack of good books and a cup of hot cocoa. That's my special treat on Sunday afternoons. :)
DeleteSo glad you've joined us in Seekerville!
Marcia, you're in!
DeleteTINA, I'm excited to have won the box of books! Most of mine are packed in tubs in the garage.
ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS to the winners!
Happy Weekend Seekerville!
Shhhhh!
ReplyDelete"His Mistletoe Family" is just .99 cents on Kindle Today!
Act now and you can hedge your bets just in case you don't win one of Ruth's double book prizes.
I remember this book because it has one of the most honest covers in romance. What you see is exactly what your get: adorable kids and pets! Also a beautiful winter setting and, of course, this is part of Ruth's popular series, "The Men of Allegany County" (book 6). This is the series with "Small-Town Hearts" which has one of my very favorite conflicted heroines, Megan Russo, who does not want anything to do with the hero or men but then can't help herself when she brings him treats to welcome him to town. In fact, I may have to read this one again. Love that heroine.
Thanks for sharing about the Kindle deal today, Vince!
DeleteOooo...I got my copy!!!
DeleteVince, thank you for sharing that! And I loved Meg too... She wasn't the victim of anything heinous, she was simply a young woman trying to make a living in a small town... and along comes Mr. Big Time Candy Man!!!! :)
DeleteAnd I'm so glad they're still running His Mistletoe Family at .99.... That's a great Kindle deal right there!
Wow! So excited to celebrate with SEEKERVILLE! (Alliteration, anyone? LOL) What an awesome community!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to all winners!
Ruthy and Jillian's book cover makes me want to break out the Christmas tree. ...But, for now, my little lights are twinkling above my desk in my office. :-)
Cynthia!!! I need some lights. I'm going to make my husband get Christmas boxes out. (And he will roll his eyes!)
DeleteSherrinda, I need to take another pic for my newsletter family... I have them all over my hutch (hanging over my desk). The lights. Not my subscribers... LOL They do add a dash of ambiance! :-)
DeleteLaughing at this because I'm still knee-deep in pumpkins... but now with cooler weather, I love that Love Inspired is getting Christmas books on the shelves the last quarter! Why wait until December to read beautiful stories??? :)
DeleteWoohoo -- I was going to say how happy I am to be a winner but after reading that boring words article I realize it would be better to say I am glad joyful thrilled cheerful pleased jolly upbeat and overjoyed to have won a copy of McCall Hoyle's debut -- The Thing with Feathers! Great way to end September and it's gnarly heatwave and welcome in October with more appropriate temperatures. Woot! Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to a month long birthday bash...that means we get to eat cake every day right?
Stopping in again on Saturday morning because I meant to say a big THANK YOU to GLYNNA KAYE for my copy of Mountain Country Cowboy!! WOW! You sent that out so quickly and I was THRILLED to get it in my mailbox this week (much better than bills and junk mail, LOL). :)
ReplyDeleteTINA, I'm giggling at your comment to me earlier - yes, being a reader is my 2nd job - - LOVE it!! ;) Hugs to all my Seeker friends, Patti Jo
p.s. So happy several of my friends are attending M&M right now - - would love to attend one year! I've heard it's wonderful! :)
I've been to M&M once before, Patti Jo. It was a very enjoyable conference. Disappointed I couldn't work it into the schedule this year, but we just got back from a family reunion, and I knew I'd have way too much to catch up on at home.
DeleteYou're welcome, Patti Jo! Glad its arrival ranked above bills and junk mail. LOL. Hope you enjoy Rio & Cash's story.
DeleteI'm mailing more out today for the winners that were announced last weekend. I was in Colorado this past week "leaf peeping" so couldn't get to the P.O. The aspens were beautiful and there was snow on the mountain tops. I'll share some pics in my October 21 Seekerville blog!
Happy Saturday and the-day-before-the-big-10-year-birthday-bash, Seekerville!!! This is always a fun time of year to see what our birthday party planners have lined up for us!
ReplyDeleteThe great thing about cake and party food in Seekerville is . . .
NO CALORIES!!!!
I've been getting back on track with my reading and now to get back on track with my writing so I can be ready for November and Nano. The vertigo is still hanging around trying to keep me from my goals. So glad the Lord is also with me.
ReplyDeleteWilani - Years ago I had bouts of severe vertigo, so I know what you're going through. Knocks you for a loop and leaves you weakened for days. Hang in there -- and best wishes on NANO!
DeleteWhat an exciting way for book writers and book lovers to celebrate!
ReplyDeleteCC, thrilled to have you join the celebration. Tossing confetti into the air!!
DeleteI so love the WE! Annnnnd I got the Writer's Clock?!?!?! Seriously, I put it on my Christmas list!!!! Thank you!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love birthdays and to get to celebrate Seekerville for a whole month is fantastic! You all bring so much wisdom and encouragement everyday and are a blessing to so many. Thank you for everything.
I shall now add something else to my Christmas list. 😉
Ten Years! Wow! The time has flown!
ReplyDeleteAnd that's as it should be when you're having fun. :)
Happy Weekend, Seekerville! I'm thinking about what to wear to the kickoff party tomorrow. Maybe I need to go shopping. I wonder if my dh would understand the need for 31 new outfits. ;-) Ten years amazes me! What a lovely time we've all had sharing our love of writing and reading! October is going to be great fun!
ReplyDeleteJanet
Wow! It's birthday party time....and Seekerville throws the BEST parties!

ReplyDeleteBut Sharee & Mary had PIZZA HUT pizza and Rhonda had a CUPCAKE. I'm drooling. :)
Arrrggghhhhh!!!!!
Everyone is required to include FOOD right? LOL

ReplyDeleteWHOO-HOO ... HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SEEKERVILLE!! 🎂
ReplyDeleteHard to believe it's been ten years, but when I look in the mirror, suddenly I see it!! ;)
Mary & Shari -- seeing you together made me homesick for our lunch last year in Omaha!! We need to do that again!!
And, RHONDA!! Love, Love, LOVE that video, too, although it was a wee bit cruel to chow down on cake in front of us, but I'll forgive you because you're so darn cute!!
I've been getting into videos BIG TIME, so I can see now that I'll have to think about doing my own Seekerville Birthday video! :)
Hugs and HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SEEKERVILLE -- YOU ROCK!!
Julie
Happy Birthday Seekerville! I love stopping by.

ReplyDeleteWe're glad to have you as a Seekervillager, Gracie!
DeleteHappy TENTH Birthday, Seekerville!
ReplyDeleteI have a funny Seekerville story. Here goes!
Several years ago one of my tech-savy friends offered to hook me up on Twitter if I bought her coffee. So we met at Starbucks and she helped me fill out the registration. Once on Twitter, she asked who I wanted to be connected with and I said, "Seekerviile." Her fingers froze above the keyboard and she lurched sideways, giving me a wary stare.
"Wait," she said. "I thought you were married!"
Yes, she thought Seekerville was a dating site! HAHAHA!
Coffee nearly flew out my nose, seriously.
Ahhhh...Seekerville. She and I still laugh about it.
HUGS ALL!
That's hilarious, Lyndee!!!! Love it!!!
DeleteThat is a fantastic story, Lyndee!
DeleteMany of us ARE about romance!!! LOL Lyndee
DeleteWhat a great story, Lyndee! I'm sure I would've choked on my coffee too!
DeleteHappy birthday Seekerville! I can't believe that it's October already. I'm only halfway done with the story I wanted finished by the end of September...
ReplyDeleteWell I guess I know what I'm going to be doing this week.
Stopping in again on Sunday - - it's OCTOBER!!! :) My very very favorite month - - middle child's b'day AND Seekerville's b'day month!! Plus we have some GORGEOUS Fall weather here in Georgia!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the videos - - sooo cute!! And since they both featured food, I'm glad SANDRA LEESMITH brought a pineapple upside-down cake and coffee - - YUM!! Thanks, Sandra!
LYNDEE, am giggling at your Twitter story!! SO funny!! ;)
I hope all my friends are having a wonderful, blessed Sunday, and again...HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SEEKERVILLE!!!!
Hugs, Patti Jo :)
I'm picturing Rhonda doing multiple 'takes' of her video until she'd eaten ten cupcakes!
ReplyDeleteHahaha...no. That was a one take video. LOL. Mountain Man went to the bakery and picked up two cupcakes, one for me and one for him. We did several takes of me just saying happy birthday, but the one with the cupcake was a one shot deal. Can you believe he wouldn't let me have his cupcake for a second take? :)
Delete10 years old!!! Woot, woot, woot. Let the party begin!
ReplyDeleteWOOT TO THAT, ROSE!!!
