Schools are off in our area tomorrow for Columbus Day so it's a three-day weekend for folks in my part of Georgia! Also, tomorrow is Canada's Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving to all our northern neighbors! I'd love to hear some of your family traditions for the day. I understand turkey is often served. What else is common to your holiday?

Wow, Ruthy! 20 Love Inspired books! Super congratulations!
May God bless all of Seekerville!
I’m loving all these videos so I can put faces to your names! Someone asked about Canadian Thanksgiving - we do all the same traditions you do - turkey with stuffing, gravy and cranberry sauce, sweet potato pie/casserole, all kinds of vegetables and mashed potatoes- did I say gravy?? And pumpkin pies, apple pies, pecan pies, you name it. We celebrate it earlier because in 1957 our government at the time wanted to place a higher emphasis on November 11th as our National War Memorial Day. And they felt that having it so close to Thanksgiving took away from that so they put it a month earlier. I’m pretty sure I have the year right. Anyway, it’s all about the turkey up here this weekend! And I’m going to enjoy Tina’s links this weekend as well. Happy Birthday once again Seekerville!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your holiday, Laurie!
DeleteLaurie, my mouth is watering! Enjoy your Thanksgiving feast! Thanks for sharing your Canadian traditions!
DeleteYumola! Happy Thanksgiving, Laurie!
DeleteHappy Thanksgiving (tomorrow) to all you Canadian Seekervillagers!
ReplyDeleteNancy C

Happy 10th, Seekers!
Nancy C (who is attempting to use up all her exclamation points before Grammar Queen's appearance this week)
LOL!! I won’t tell, Nancy!!
DeleteHappy Weekend and Happy Birthday, Seekerville. I love the Seekerville birthday celebration. Hope everyone is having a great weekend. It is beautiful weather here, but I'm working at the book store all weekend so not a lot of chance to enjoy it. Last night was date night with hubby to the community theater to see Young Frankenstein. They did an outstanding job. Our relatively small town has so much talent. It was a fun evening.
ReplyDeleteThat was a VERY fast week! Congrats everyone!
ReplyDeleteOff to the last outdoor concert of the year. Our little lake is teaming with Canada Geese...a sure sign summer is REALLY over. One of these days I will open the curtains to an empty lake, signalling they've migrated. Then snow... But today, it's bright blue sky and water. This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad!
Blessings Seekerville!
Happy Birthday to my Seekerville Sisters!
ReplyDelete~~ Some of you know the last few weeks I’ve walked through a great bit tragedy. In fact, the past 12 months have been some of the most difficult of my life.
~~ Last May I spoke at our GABC RoundTop Singles Conference, and I wanted to share the video with you. I watched it again recently to see if I could still say it is true, and Yes, Absolutely, With All of My Heart, I Still Believe!!! (The main point is at the end, so please watch the entire 23 minutes. Sound starts at 18 secs.)
Jana Vanderslice Round Top Conference May 2017.

* I am only leaving the video up for a couple of weeks, so please watch it soon!
A little off topic! But I could help but share with you that GOD IS WORTH IT!!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Debby and Ruthy for their 20th Love Inspired book.
I love this month long of Birthday celebration! I just brought a Red Velvet Cake for anyone wanting a slice to drive away the crazy weather. Church is cancelled tonight due to all the rain. We received 2 inches of rain in an hour and a half this morning. It was raining so hard that I became completely drenched when we got out out of church and then getting out of the car at the restaurant. There was so much water on the roads.
We are having our WE celebration in the pumpkin patch but we're excited for all winners!!!! And looking forward to a continuing month of pumpkins, writing, birthdays, cake and around here... Whoopie Pies!
