    1. Dark, wet and a high of 49 in the mountains yesterday, Tina. But we get so few cloudy days that I love them! Feels so cozy inside, and the much-needed rain leaves the air amazingly fresh and clean outside.

    2. It was 3 degrees at our Flagstaff house this morning. So glad we are back in the Valley in the seventies. Went swimming this afternoon and soaked in the hot tub. sigh

  7. My writing is done for the morning. I'm heading to the far side of the city to support the annual Christmas sale put on by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Rochester. This is their annual event to help support the sacrificial Catholic women who gave their time and talents for the good of so many kids and hospitals and clinics and shelters and schools. I look forward to this all year. This year we've established a farm bakery so we were able to send all kinds of things for the sisters to sell... and that was marvelous, to send that loaded car off yesterday.

I dashed over to the Bethany House article about authors and free books. They were spot on. I think the influx of Amazon used books and then indie brought market expectations down, but as a woman who loves a great caramel macchiato... I love books more!

So if I can buy a great book for the price of two coffees, gone in a flash... or a Kindle version for the price of one coffee... I'm totally there.

It's not that I'm against giveaways... but I'm a huge fan of free enterprise, too! :)

    3. Thanks, Glynna! It will be in the Read a Romance section. Apparently, Myra is a subscriber and she received her copy yesterday in the mail. Our local stores have the November 27th issue now, so my story will be in the December 4th print.

  9. Good morning, everyone!!! I just checked the coffee urn and it's almost empty. What's up with that? Oh, I see Mary and Tina and a few others were up early, or was it late? I brought an assortment of scones and pastries...all heated, of course. A cold front's moving in today, and we all need a cozy fire and a warm afghan to curl up in.

Thanks for another great WE, Tina. Lots of must-read articles!

And my TBD list is getting longer!!! JULIE and RUTHY and TINA...you guys are so prolific. Love having another Seeker Villager's book to read.

And how fun is it to be in the BookSweeps together, TINA and MARY. I hope someone we know wins the grand prize. What a haul!

  26. Happy Weekend everyone. We're actually celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow (the turkey is in the oven now) since half of our family work at Walmart and so would not be able to come on the actual Thanksgiving. Stinking commercialism.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Nicki, you'll have a wonderful time anyway... we wait until Saturday to celebrate with our family because there's too much to fit into one day. That way our kids can have Thanksgiving with the other half of their families... wives, husbands, etc.... and then we get an uninterrupted day together.

But I agree, I don't shop on Thanksgiving and I wish the stores stayed closed.

It's ridiculous. But I know how important gainful employment is to many of us.

Enjoy your feast today... it's not about the calendar. It's about the heart.

    1. Wilani, I may have missed a comment this past week. Did your doctor appointment go well on Monday? Any answers?

    2. Still no answers. I have to have a procedure on December 1. In the meantime live with the pain and if it gets worse, go immediately to the ER. Still not eating much and when I try I pay. Amazingly I have only lost 1 pound. You'd think I could at least lose weight. I am so glad nothing is hidden from God. I just wish it weren't hidden from me or the doctors.

  31. Two Surprises this Morning!

One: I saw the cover of, "The Christmas Angel," and immediately went to Amazon to get a copy.

Two: It wasn't a Julie Lessman title like the cover art suggested to me and I already owned the book anyway!

No new bargain for me today. :U

Two: I then noticed, "Under The Mistletoe", didn't own it, it really is by Tina, and bought it.

    Just another day in Seekerville.
