The 2008 Challenge closes the door on contest number two, Sunday at midnight.
The second contest has no beginning, and requires evidence of a manuscript completed in 2008 (not necessarily begun in 2008). So send me your last paragraph in an email with the words THE END. Or just tell me you finished the book.

The winner of the random drawing will receive $50 to assist their manuscript entry into the
2008 Golden Heart competition. Email me at tina@tinarusso.com to be entered in the drawing. The winner will be announced Friday, September 5th at the monthly contest update in Seekerville. The Abingdon Press Interview is coming! For those of you who want to know more about Abingdon Press, September 4, our own Cub Reporter, Ruth Logan Herne will be interviewing Barbara Scott, Sr. Acquisitions Editor, for Fiction.

Look What's Coming To the Seekerville Bookshelf!

September 1st, Camy Tang's
Single Sashimi (Sushi Series, Book 3)
Venus Chau is a high-powered video game developer. Now she might be working for the man she’s always hated … but what if he’s no longer the man she thought she knew? The third book in the Sushi series offers romance with the spice of ginger.

A Passion Redeemed (The Daughters of Boston, Book 2)
by Julie Lessman,
also releases September 1st.
(That's Monday!) See the ad on page 58 of Romantic Times!

Graced with physical beauty, though shallow of heart, Charity O'Connor is a woman who knows what she wants. She sets her sights on the cantankerous Mitch Dennehy, editor at the Irish Times, who has unwittingly stolen her heart. And although the sparks are there, Mitch refuses to fan the coals of a potential relationship with his ex-fiancée's sister. But Charity has a plan to turn up the heat and she always gets what she wants--one way or another. Is revenge so sweet after all? Or will Charity get burned?

Janet Dean's debut Love Inspired Historical,
Courting Miss Adelaide,
( Noblesville, Indiana Series, Book 1)

releases September 9, 2008.
The "orphan train" seemed like small-town spinster Adelaide Crum's last chance to know the simple joys of family life. So many lost children, every one of them dreaming only of a caring home—the home she longed to offer. And yet the narrow-minded town elders refused to entrust even the most desperate child to a woman alone….
Newspaperman Charles Graves believed his heart was closed forever, but he swore to stand by this lovely, lonely woman who was fighting for the right to take some motherless child into her heart. And her gentle soul and unwavering faith made him wonder if even he could overcome the bitter lessons of the past, and somehow find the courage to love….
Meet the author at her first book signing Sat. Sept. 13 from noon-3:00 at Anchor Room Christian Bookstore at the corner of Lahmeyer and Stellhorn Rd in Fort Wayne, IN. Janet is also scheduled to blog at Petticoats and Pistols
Sept. 6 and 7.
