Seekerville Medical Weekend Edition

A little fun to start your weekend.
We'll do a brief (really brief) exploration of medicine and writing.

Let's see if you can name these medical personnel. Not their real name but their fictional persona names. There's a few hard ones in there.

Answers at the end of the post.

Here are some of my favorite places to research medical issues.

Finally, I thought I'd share these writing notations from patient charts.

  • The patient has no previous history of suicides.
  • On the second day the knee was better and on the third day it disappeared.
  • The patient has been depressed since she began seeing me in 1993.
  • Discharge status: Alive, but without my permission.
  • Healthy appearing decrepit 69-year old male, mentally alert, but forgetful.
  • She is numb from her toes down.
  • She stated that she had been constipated for most of her life until she got a divorce.
  • Patient has two teenage children, but no other abnormalities
  • When she fainted, her eyes rolled around the room.
  • The patient was in his usual state of good health until his airplane ran out of fuel and crashed.
  • She slipped on the ice and apparently her legs went in separate directions in early December.
  • The patient was to have a bowel resection. However he took a job as a stockbroker instead.

Here's the surgery schedule: there's one brain implant this week and we're awaiting a prior authorization for the removal of a large attitude.

Tuesday: Dr. Myra L. Johnson

Wednesday: Dr. Julie Lessman

Thursday: Dr. Ruth (hahahaha)

Friday: Special Guest in the hospital lecture room:

Have you sighted Cheryl Wyatt's new release?

A Soldier's Reunion-Wings of Refuge Book 4.

Despite a decade apart, this isn't the reunion Mandy Manchester expected! She thought she'd put high school sweetheart Nolan Briggs behind her. Now he's back…and the pararescue jumper literally sweeps her off her feet. He's ready and willing to rekindle what they once shared. Mandy, though, isn't prepared to put her heart at risk. He left her before—she won't trust him again. Can Nolan teach this grounded girl to take a leap of faith?

Here's hoping you have a great weekend.

If not, take two pieces of chocolate and call us Monday morning.

  1. TINA, TINA, TINA ... Dear Lord, this is the hardest I laughed all week -- three LOUD guffaws that has my golden retriever wondering what's up!

You really are too funny (and clever) for words sometimes!!

LOVE the post, obviously, and oh my, that George Clooney ... may not like his politics, but mmmm, that bedside manner would sure make me take my medicine! :)

    Hugs,
    Julie

  2. I am so glad I've never had a dr that looked like Dr. Ross! Talk about being intimidated.

    Another wonderful 'weekend edition'--
    Thanks Tina.

  6. Oh, oh, too funny! I love that final prescription with the chocolate. Now, that's my kind of medicine. It sure beats a spoon full of sugar.

    Blessings,
