Tina, I had to chuckle. You pulled out some of the WD articles that I had tagged this week for reading. Great minds....? Well one anyway—yours.

    Good night!

  10. It's a sweet treat to see Anita Mae here with her first publishing contract!

Congrats to all of last week's winners (like me! WOOHOOOO! I am going to be pinterest savvy in 2013!) Thank you Seekers and Virtual Name Picker Randomizer Thingy!

Yes, I love Peonies for their outrageous attitude and how they always bring a heavy rain when they are their most fat and fragrant! ( yes, then they fall over and lay on the lawn, but we love them anyway!)

I am looking forward to all the posts and a bit concerned with what PEPPER might be feeding her children when she's reluctant to come away from the keyboard...

  11. Deb I used to worry about what my kids ate... one of THOSE MOTHERS.... then Luke came along and I was working night and day and he loved cereal.... A marriage made in heaven.... so he ended up 6'2" and 190 lbs. and amazingly brilliant and I take no credit: It was clearly the CEREAL!!! :)

I'll send Pep some cereal and we'll grab her for the DAY... Except that little Phoebe is about the cutest thing EVER!

Oh, I love this WE but I can't click to links yet... that's my treat for later. I'm going to Home Depot to buy concrete stone "wall builders" to make a cemetery garden around the Blodgett family today. It's down and dirty in upstate with a labor of love, but once I'm done... I'm coming home to Write and Click!!! See youse later today!

  12. YAY, Anita Mae!!!!

Whoo-hoo! Such fantastic news to start the weekend. I'm thrilled for you. Good for Guideposts to realize the gem they have in you.

  13. What are you going to do about your assistant, Tina? :)

If only, right? Looking around my office...I need one too!

  15. We didn't hear from Jenny yesterday.

    She may be in Gettysburg.

Hope the weather is good for seeing the battlefield.

We have storms in Georgia today.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Doing a celebratory happy dance in Canada for Anita Mae! I love Christmas stories!

Up here peonies are a summer flower. LOL. Or very late spring. My favourite spring flowers are the scented ones. Lilacs and lily of the valley. Blissful sigh. I get to breathe in their fragrance while I go out and dig dandelions this morning (which aren't my favourite spring flower!)

    Happy Victoria Day Weekend!

    ReplyDelete
  17. CONGRATULATIONS, ANITA MAE!!!

Another fabulous W.E., Tina! I don't think I've seen a peony since I left the Midwest. We had bunches of them in our yard when I was growing up.

  20. You all know I do not really have an assistant, right?

I am dreaming of one, however.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yay Anita Mae!!!!

We all knew it was going to happen!

    ReplyDelete
  22. TINA!

    You made my day!

    This is soooooo funny!!!

I went to the link to see about Sandra’s blog tour coming up for “Love’s Miracles” and this is what I found at the end of that link:

a beautiful picture and this message

“Sorry, the page you were looking for in this blog does not exist.”

If it does not exist, what are you referring to? It’s like the atheist saying he was mad at God for not existing.

Of course, this may only be funny to a philosopher. There’s just something about existential questions that beg for humorous misunderstanding.

BTW: Sandra gives an interview on my blot, “Philosophy of Romance” , someday next week. I’m not sure yet what day. My assistant has been gone since 1997 when word processors replaced secretaries at my office. : (

Anyway, that’s why I was checking that link – to see what day I post the interview. Not to worry. The interview is finished and I didn’t ask any softball questions. This is a Philosophy site. Real questions. I don’t think I even asked a pickleball question. : )

    Vince

P.S. Because of my Sandra interview about her Southwest Children’s books, I had to explain to my wife what pickleball was. I didn’t know how to do this so we watched a YouTube video of people playing. Now she wants to play! But even that is too much for my knees. It looks like so much fun, I don’t know why everyone who can do it, is not doing it.

  23. CONGRATS ANITA MAE!

Let it be known that we go back to before there was a Seekerville!

Anita Mae beat me in every writing contest we were both in. But I did win a few she did not enter.

So I hope I am next to get a call!

    Way to go!

    Vince

    Congrats to all the winners.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Good morning everyone!

A big huge CHEER for Anita Mae! So happy for you!!

I finally finished edits and hit the SEND button last night. YAY!!!

So now my long weekend is free to pay some much needed attention to my house. And possibly the garden. Oh and to make dinner for my mother's birthday. (Last weekend was up north for my mother in law's birthday - too many things in May!)

    Have a great one!
    Cheers,
    Sue

    ReplyDelete
  25. May is a busy time, for sure, Sue! Happy B'day to Mama!

Vince, I hope you're next too! Wouldn't that be super fantastic!!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. So excited for Anita Mae!! I love the sweet smile on her face in the picture!

    Congrats to the winners, too!

I won't be as Pinterest Savvy as Debra Marvin but I sure learned a lot from the post. And I know where Debra lives. I plan to bug her about what she learns!

    Thanks, Seekerville!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Of course, we know you don't have an assistant, Tina.

But you work hard enough to be five people. Maybe six. Hmmmm? Make that seven.

I want your energy and vision. Your tech knowledge would help as well.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Waving to Susie. Maybe we should all follow Deb's lead.

Although I'm still hesitant to pin.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Great WE, as always, Miss T! CONGRATS to all the winners, and a big CONGRATS to Anita Mae!

Favorite spring bloom? GARDENIAS!! Love, love, love that scent and those pretty creamy-white blooms.

Looking forward to another awesome week in Seekerville. Please enjoy the Georgia Pecan pie and Peach Muffins, warm from the oven.
    Hugs, Patti Jo :)

  30. I forgot to mention my favorite spring bloom. :) I love daffodils and crocuses. They were always the first to brave poking their colorful heads up even when there was a bit of snow on the ground. They were my promise that spring was coming soon. ;)

TINA—if my mind was half as amazing as yours, I'd be thrilled. :)

    ReplyDelete
  31. Way to go, Anita Mae. Congrats to all the winners. Thanks for the articles and schedule for next week.

You don't have an assistant, Tina? Even I have an assistant. He's called a husband.

  32. VINCE, OOPS!! There was a space in the link.

    Fixed.

    BLOG TOUR

    ReplyDelete
  33. Oh mercy, I've hit the big time! :D

Thank you so much Seekerville and friends. I owe the Seekers so much for your friendship and support over the years - both online and in person. This is one village I always come back to although I appreciate you letting me hang out with you at ACFW. I treasure those times. Thank you.

Vince - I can't remember who won or lost more between us, but I do remember the time I tried to slough off and you told me to quit being lazy because I was a better writer than that. LOL I still think of that comment when I get dispirited and it's enough to push me back up a rung. Thank you.

Congrats to all of this week's winners and kudos for helping to make this one of the best writing sites around - not to mention a decent place for coffee and fellowship. :)

    ReplyDelete
  34. Speaking of Debra Marvin, on Thursday's Pinterest post she said, My fave use is to create a board for a book as you are developing the plot and characters and setting. I have a couple that are secret--I wish I'd kept more of them secret because of the 'contest' issue.

Well, she is so Pinterest savvy, she even has a story/book board on my Pinterest page!

The first 2 on my Pin Page are a project we worked on together - mine is Romantic Refinements and hers is the next one, Alarmingly Charming.

And no, I don't know how she did it. She told me but it didn't seem to stick. :D

  35. Way to ROCK Anita Mae! Congrats on the call!

    Lovely weekend, Tina. Thanks!

And Vince, you're so funny! I'm dying laughing, but so glad you're having Sandra on your blog! Yay you!!!

Hey, I'm leaving strawberries and cream form youse.... Such a delight.

I'm jonesin' for crepes and I get...

    zucchini.

So I'm telling myself that my body will THANK ME.... and it will, but I have to wipe the image of crepes out of my head.

    (grabs eraser and scrubs mercilessly!!!)

    :)

  37. Laughing at Ruthy!

    Rejoicing with Anita Mae!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Anita seeing this makes me think of you and me and Rachelle McCalla running around in New York City together. Wow, was I ever the weak link in that group, as far as TERROR goes.
You were both brave and I'm all, "Don't leave me, I'll die! I'll never see Nebraska again! Tell my children I loved them!"

    That kinda mature thing.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Columbines are my favorite spring flower....some blooming in my garden right now!

Waving to Debby....THANK YOU!!! Congratulations to all the winners!

Thank you, Tina, for the WE...next week looks GREAT--as always!

Anita Mae...CONGRATS...I love Christmas stories...so especially wonderful news!

Hoping everyone has a beautiful weekend with many spring flowers!

    ReplyDelete
  40. It's okay Ruthy, you said you'd come back later for the rest. :)

    And thank you Debbie,too.

Honestly, if I wasn't so easy-going I'd be feeling old just thinking about all this talk of it taking so long to get the call. Haha.

But then you judged one of my contests waaaaay back Ruthy, and said I wasn't ready at the time but had potential. :D

    ReplyDelete
  41. Anita Mae, try to remember the Seekers are older than you, and we all took years to sell too. Yes, no matter how you look at it we're still older than you. SIGH.

    ReplyDelete
  42. HOORAY FOR ANITA MAE!!!

without her boldness for God on the eHarl boards, I'm not sure I would've found Seekerville. She's the one who pointed me this way.

I'm also her biggest fan. I've been snoopy-dancing for her since she broke the news. haven't stopped yet.

definitely looking forward to Christmas this year.

    ReplyDelete
  43. DebH, you always make me smile. :) Thank you for walking beside me on this journey. *hugs

You, me and Vince - wow - who 'da thought way back then, eh. LOL

And Tina... I only act young. My grandkids would be in high school now if I had some. :D

    ReplyDelete
  49. Good Morning is right, Mary Connealy!

And good to see your shining face, Anna W.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Anita, that's a hoot! But I was absolutely right about the potential and I'm just so stinkin' proud of you right now!

There is no quitting in this business if you love it. And you have to love it otherwise the steady stream of rejection can make you question your self-worth, your hair-style and the color of your toe-nails.

It's a tough biz, but I wouldn't have it any other way and I think it's good that most of us can never get too jaded or sure of ourselves because it's easy in life to get an over-inflated ego.

And that's never a God-thing. You hang in there, ride the success of this first sale and have fun!!!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Congrats winners and congrats Anita Mae! Way to go!

Thanks for a great WE, Tina!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Congratulations, Anita Mae!!!!!!!

    I love it!!!

  53. Way, way, way late arriving for the WE! Busy weekend at church--open house and dedication of our new worship center, so lots of special stuff going on.

Tina, you have an assistant??? I need one of those!

    CONGRATULATIONS, ANITA MAE!!! What fun!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Anita Mae! Applause -- lovely to read such good news.

KC & May -- kudos on getting the manuscript turned in.

And cheers for all the weekly winners!

(Now to go search my thesaurus for more synonyms for congratulations ...)

    Nancy C

    ReplyDelete
  55. Tina -- say it ain't so! No assistant?? :-)

Okay ... you're twins, then, right?

    Nancy C

  56. P.S. That article Noah Kagan post on how to sell e-books almost made my head explode.

I could never get the graphics he got from Google trends. Ugh. But I did find out that Jane Austen has a 400% smaller search profile than 'the South'. WEIRD.

Who's searching for 'the South'?? I mean, I love the South, but who knew so many people were Googling the South??

Now I've got marketing ideas on overdive...
