I know we're closed (mostly to recover!!!!) but I just had to pop in and thank everyone for all their help in making the New Year's Eve party such a success!

For your amazing organizational triumph in putting on Seekerville's New Year's Party!
This was a major effort, oh my goodness, if you were a host, as I was, you would have received a two page host instruction sheet that Ruth sent out well in advance of the party. It was like getting new orders in the Air Force!
Ruth collected the host's favorite quotes, photos, inspirational video clips, recipes, bios, along with giving assignment times and partners. When it came our time to host, like magic, quotes, pictures, video clips, bios, and more just appeared on the Seekerville page just before our hour began.
This had to be a monumental effort to manage and I just know there had to be a plotter in this mix somewhere.
Anyway...three cheers for Ruth and Audra for the best Seekerville New Year's Party ever!

A New Year Dilemma Already!
ReplyDeleteThis morning I just finished Myra's "Horseman" Trilogy and gave up on a romance that had scenes that were two to three times longer than the story movement needed. (Please, authors, if your manuscript is short of words, just don't make the scenes longer!)
So I check Amazon and I discovered that two books had been downloaded into my account while I slept! Janet Dean's, "The Bounty Hunter's Redemption," and Tina's, "Rocky Mountain Reunion," -- so which one should I start to read this afternoon? Which one would you read first?
Do you think it would be fair to read the author who has gone the longest without a book release?

So we're ready for next year, a little older, wiser, and with a few tricks up our sleeves. But for this year, we're going to concentrate on encouraging folks to kick those fears to the curbs....
The insensible ones.
Fear of being eaten by bears is sensible.
Fear of walking alone on a dark, crime-riddled street is sensible.
Fear of alligators, also considered sensible.
Spiders? nuh, uh.... Tough it out.
Yellow jackets? Only if you're deathly allergic.
Snakes?
only poisonous varieties.
So our job is to boldly go forth and do our best to break ground.
We've moved past our limits!!! Now we just need to lasso those stinkin' fears.

ReplyDeleteI am now happily reading "The Bounty Hunter's Redemption," and after letting the first Chapter get its hooks into me, it's way too late to stop reading now!
Already, "The Bounty Hunter's Redemption," has taken me back to my favorite Janet Dean book, "Courting Miss Adelaide" -- with both stories taking place in Indiana with stories that are just a year apart: 1897 and 1898.
Small town, shop keeping, highly sympathetic child, a hero who can step in and save a broken family. Wow! This is what I like in a romance plus it's a historical. Looks like a fun weekend ahead.
