They do look interesting, don't they?
DeleteHearty congratulations to the winners... And a very merry weekend before Christmas!!!!
ReplyDeleteOur family is bell ringing this afternoon at a local mall... and tomorrow the big Herne family Christmas party is here at the farm, so that's crazy fun, and inspired me to CLEAN THE CEILING FAN AND THE LIGHTS in the family room... with a big ladder. Oh my stars, it's amazing how much brighter lights are without dust! :) Shame on me!!!!
Wishing you all a peaceful, blessed weekend in the arms of the Lord, and no matter where you are in life right now... no matter what the struggle, what the trial... please know that you are special to us. You are in our prayers and thoughts, because you are what makes Seekerville so very special.
With or without twinkle lights, you brighten our days!
Awwwwh... With or without twinkle lights, you brighten our days!... That is so sweet Ruthy! You all brighten our days as well! :)
DeleteHi Ruth:
DeleteCongrats! Did you know that 'the Splendid Splinter's' mother, was a bell ringer and Ted Williams was as proud of her for doing that as she was of his baseball success?
Could there be a second 'Red Kettle' Christmas story? A novella. "How the Grinch banned Bell Ringers from the sidewalks!"
Whenever I see a bell ringer I think of you, Ruthy. You taught me to thank them for volunteering and now I do. That always brings smiles. So thank you for volunteering dear friend.
DeleteAnd I'll take some twinkles. Could use some as it is a tough time for me this week. I don't know how people can do tough times without the hope and comfort of our Lord and the Holy Spirit.
Ruthy we rang the bell last Saturday in front of the Walmart in lil ole Gaylord, MI. It was our first time ringing the bell. It was very cold and snowed on us, but it was a blast! I loved saying "Merry Christmas!" to everyone (people have a much harder time ignoring you then hehe). I'd say that 80% of the time I got a "Merry Christmas" or a "You too! Thanks!" back. Occasionally I got an awkward smile, and only once did I get a Scrooge. Not too shabby. My husband was a little quieter than me, but he had fun too. :)
DeleteWhen I was a single mom, my son's only new gift at age 4 was a cobbler's bench given to us by the Salvation Army. It was his favorite gift for years.
Hope your time with your family is blessed.
Congratulations to all the winners and thank you Tina for another great WE and some great links.
ReplyDeleteMay you all be blessed today!
Blessings,
Cindy W.
Blessings to you also Cindy.
DeleteCongratulations to all of the winners!
ReplyDeleteShupe's in the house next week...woot! Thanks for a terrific WE, Tina. Happy writing and reading everyone.
Jill, I just posted my winners for Thursday (BAD RUTHY!!!) and you're one of them.... Happy dancing in snowy upstate for you!!!
DeleteHaha, Jill! Yes, please stop by to see me!
DeleteThanks Tina for a great WE and Congratulations to all of the winners!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Congrats to all the winners this week.
ReplyDeleteI am still trying to thaw out. This morning I need to convince myself to get out of the bed. It is a chilly 56 in the house. If I can just start the Christmas baking before I freeze I might get the house warm enough. My heater isn't working right.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.
Not a good time for the heater to go out, Wilani! Hope you can get it fixed ASAP! (Baking does sound like a worthwhile remedy in the meantime. 😉)
DeleteHey Wilani, That's a great excuse to bake. chuckle. Wish I could pop over and help. We could sing and dance and warm the place up.
DeleteHappy weeekend, everyone!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe Christmas is less than 10 days away! I am so thankful for this community. Just had to say it. I'v been thanking God for my gifts lately and Seekerville is defintely up there on the list.
How fun that I won the the towel. Thank you, Missy!!
This is a great WE, Tina, and I look forward to checking out the links.
I'll be in and out a lot for the rest of the year, but I wanted to wish everyone a very merry Christmas. I hope each of you has special time with loved ones, that fun memories are created and that you all know God's joy and love for you.
HAPPY WEEKEND, EVERYONE!!! Ruthy's bell-ringing, and I'm cleaning!! Took almost three months to renovate our master bath, and YEE-HAW, IT IS FINISHED!! That sure says Merry Christmas to me!
ReplyDeleteAnd OH MY GOSH -- this is the FIRST weekend Keith and I have at home alone (sounds like a movie!!), and we are sooooooo excited!! I'm making both a pot roast and a turkey (not at the same time) with all the trimmin's and we're going to watch Hallmark and Madame Secretary ad nauseum, so YAY!!
I hope everyone is feeling well and able to enjoy this final week before the most blessed of holidays!
And, Ruthy, I SO admire you with the bell-ringing, my friend -- you're perfect for that with your outgoing personality. ;)
Hugs!!
Julie
Want to work on my master bath next, Julie? It's in serious need of a makeover! Problem is, space is limited so whenever we do make it plan, it'll have to be very creative.
DeleteCongrats JUlie, I know how exciting it is to finish a project like that. We were supposed to be done with ours this week, but shipping delays fouled up the works. sigh. So we'll celebrate next week. But love your way to celebrate. Those are my favs also. Happy dancing girlfriend.
DeleteHappy Weekend, Seekerville. On my way to Orlando and then to warm Phoenix after a week in the snow. 24 inches of it.
ReplyDeleteHave a terrific weekend!!!
Enjoy the sunshine, Tina!
DeleteOh Teenster, How wonderful that you can mix a little brrr with some warmth. Blessings.
DeleteAnd thanks for another great WE. Don't get sunburned.
Good morning, Seekerville! Soooo happy our weather is warming up slightly starting today. I am NOT a fan of cold weather! I'm looking out my window at nearly bare trees and sunny blue skies. (Project Guy is getting a wee bit weary of blowing and bagging leaves, though.)
ReplyDeleteHope everyone has a lovely weekend and a not-too-busy last week before Christmas!
Sounds like Project Guy has been a good boy for Santa's list. chuckle. We finally got some rain and that is a blessing for us. It will warm up again.
DeleteCongrats to all the winners!
ReplyDeleteIs everyone else ready for Christmas???
I have most of my presents bought.
We still haven't bought our tree. Hopefully we will get it today and then get it decorated.
Connie, I hope you find the perfect tree!
DeleteWe're mostly ready... Monday I'm doing inventory... you know how important that is with a big family!!!! ;)
Hi Connie Queen, Presents are all distributed and mailed from our house. Just a couple more cards to do and I'll be done. And it has only been by the grace of God, LOL. Because I have no clue how I stayed so organized with all the stuff going on. Whew! Miracles do happen.
DeleteWorst Love Song?
ReplyDeleteJanet Dean's Monday post, "Let Christmas Decorations Enrich Your Writing," reminds me of what I think is the worse love song -- meant to be serious -- ever: "You Decorated My Life" by Kenny Rogers! Decorations are pretty accessories meant to enhance a main attraction! I think that is an insult! Might as well call the woman 'arm candy' or a guy 'boy toy'!
Does anyone else have a worst love song that was meant to be serious?
Vince... you struck a nerve.... I run to change the radio station every time that insipid song "Last Christmas".... comes on....
Delete"The very next day, you gave it away... this year..." blah, blah, blah...
Oy vay! :)
Ruthy, I think that is an annoying song, too!
DeleteWell I guess my problems with auditory discrimination are a blessing. I never hear the words. LOL. Just the tune. LOL
DeleteCongratulations to all the winners and authors!
ReplyDeleteMay God bless all of Seekerville!
Phyllis, thank you! Wishing God's blessings right back on you, lovely lady!
DeleteThank you Phyllis. I think He already has, esp with all our friends here in Seekerville. Merry Christmas.
DeleteLooking forward to Sally Shupe's "Running is Like Writing" on Thursday.
ReplyDeleteI can see right off that running a marathon is like writing a romance novel. There's the call for a quick start, the importance of pacing yourself, the danger of a sagging middle, plus the inevitable black moment when you hit the wall at twenty miles, and, of course, the need for a strong kick to finish with a flash! Oh, yes, at the end there's the HEA…hugging everyone around!
Happy Weekend!
You always make me chuckle, Vince. HEA means hugging everyone around does it? Sounds good to me.
DeleteVince, I love your HEA meaning! I can't wait to be here on Thursday. I hope you enjoy the post!
DeleteI'm reading "Love's Healing" which starts with both the hero and heroine in the water surfing and an emergency to bring them together! A great read before entering a writing contest! It's also so well five-sensed that I keep thinking sand is coming out of my Kindle! The hero is a retired Lt. Col. ready to settle down, commit, and find a wife! Where do you find guys like this? Wonderful! Got to get back. Now their surfing in my old stomping grounds in southern California. Surf's up!
ReplyDeleteI know a lot of gals who would love, love, love a hero like that!!!
DeleteOh Vince, You always make my day. So where do we find these guys? hmmmm Remember, we're talking fantasy here. Oh forgive me. I know many wonderful men who are already heroes. Hmmm. Could I be talking about you? smile
DeleteIt sounds like a lot of holiday happiness is happening this weekend! My girls are home from college and our home is filled with life! Loving it! Have a great weekend everyone!
ReplyDeleteOh, Karen, that was always my favorite... the kids home from college and how special that was...
DeleteNow I had a lot of boys, too, though.
And they were a little more "disappear with friends" type. The Brats!!!
Wow Karen, that is special. Have a wonderful and blessed time.
DeleteCongratulations winners! Happy countdown to Christmas! Last week. Did y'all get all your gifts yet? I'm still behind. YIKES!
ReplyDeleteI am behind until 12/23... because that's when we're celebrating with our kids/grandkids...
DeleteAnd after that, it's like the home stretch, Annie!
I have mine, but still some cards to do. Yay
DeleteBwhahahaha! Or should I say Ho Ho Ho? Over Bethany Houses's seven suggestions for hinting at books for Christmas gifts. Love them all -- especially the Nativity one. Wish I was still working at my school library -- I would do that as a display.
ReplyDeleteKav, what a great idea! Let me say here that I'm so happy that your mobility is getting better... and that you've got shoes! Ruthy is happy dancing across the Big Pond!!!!
DeleteI love giving books as gifts. They are so lasting and enjoyable. Have a merry holiday, Kav
DeleteI'm a winner? Thank you, Seekerville!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Walt. Have a wonderful weekend.
DeleteCongratulations to the winners! TINA, thank you for a wonderful WE!
ReplyDeleteHi Ruth:
ReplyDeleteI went back and listened to "Last Christmas", a song I used to like, and realized for the first time how bad it is! Actually, I don't listen to the lyrics of most songs. I'm hearing the poetry of the words but not the meanings. Meanings involve work and mind CPU. I also went back, because of Tina's graphic, and listened to the words of "All My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys" for meaning and it's a powerful and beautiful piece of poetry!
There is a lot to be said for not listening to the lyrics. :)
Congrats to all the winners. Oh yay. Another New Years Eve party. Where has the time flown? Seems like we just rang in 2017. smile
ReplyDeleteHope you're all having a great weekend.
Congratulations to all the winners! Thank you Tina for another great weekend edition. I just love Seekerville. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like I skidded into the WE at the last minute. And I discovered I'm a winner of one of Julie's ebooks. Happy dancing!!! Thanks, Seekerville! You're the best.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the excellent links to Jane Friedman and Writers in the Storm! Wow and double wow!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you winners.
I've had a wonderful indulgent weekend of reading. Hope you've had a nice weekend, too!
