  2. I had fun on three links!!!! More later, but that was the perfect way to wake up, Teenster!

    SPEEDBO IS ALMOST UPON US!!!!

I have a book to edit and one to finish so I know exactly what I'll be doing in March. Edits are supposed to arrive Monday, and there's 20K left to write in the book... so that's my Speedbo goal, to keep both publishers happy!

And in the meantime, we'll be announcing our new Seekers novella collections soon!!!! SPRING READING!

    I'm psyched!

Next weekend: Cover reveal in the midst of SPEEDBO!!!!!!

Back later, Happy Saturday my friends!

  3. I'm really excited to force my but in the chair and write. I have been doing a lot of reading and reviews lately. Already 48 since the beginning of the year. I need a break :). Writing another book is just the ticket. Thank you! Good luck everyone!

  4. Great WE, Tina.
I'm pinning a lot of your #NOLIMTS signs on my Pinterest Inspirtional board. Thanks for the inspiration!

Ruthy, I'm loving your novella. My day is packed, but even if I don't finish before Speedbo starts, there's no way I can wait until the end of the month. I'm loving it!

Congrats to all the winners this week!

Kelly, you're going to love Speedbo!

  5. Congratulations to all of last weeks winners!

For the first time since it's inception, I'm not participating in Speedbo, but I am cheering everyone who is on and look forward to reading about everyone's progress.

  10. Great WE and congrats to all the winners.

    Yay, Speedbo starts tomorrow.

I'm going for training this morning as a volunteer at the Tucson Festival of Books. So exciting. It is an authors dream to be in this wonderful weekend dedicated to books and authors. YAY. The festival is March 14-15th.

  11. Thank you Tina.
This weekend I will be "snowflaking" "It Is Well With Her Soul." I have a draft, from NANO, but I don't want to write any more until I have some structure. I'll also be doing an initial pass-through of the second chapter in my crit partner's WIP. I don't have a lot of outside commitments for once, besides getting groceries, so this should be fun.

  12. I'm like RUTHY, in that I always have more than one project going. And I'm like MARY in that I am determined to Be Ready. Between Christmas and now I did a second version of "Trail," trimming it to 75,000 words, so I could promote it to LIH. The 85,000-word version is more of an epic and the 75,000-word version is an H&H romance with only the two points of view. But the message is the same. Forgiveness.
HELEN, thanks for the coffee, it's the weekend and I have time to enjoy it!

  13. I also take some inspiration from Martha Rogers, who didn't publish until she was 73!$%#%@@!!! I have a blog post from her in my inspirational folder. It's in God's timing and the women in my family live a long, long time. My grandmother lived to be 102, although she was pretty much incommunicado for the last two years.
    No limits, right?

I always enjoying the articles on Saturday afternoon when I take my tea break.

I will be especially nice this afternoon—we're covered in snow. I'll sit tucked under my fav blankie and sip hot tea, read, and watch the snow fall.

Good luck to all Speedboers! :-) ( Talk about making' up words . . . )

  18. We've just returned from a trip to check on wedding details for our younger son's upcoming wedding, so I'm in WEDDING mode. Please ENTER ME for Ruthy's beautiful book!

Yay, #SPEEDBO for reaching 100! Waving to CP Donna and Anna! We can do this!

Speedbo prep: This afternoon, I'm making a double batch of lasagna ....one for tonight's church dinner and freezing the other as a treat for hubby's March meals. I still need to get Kav's Treat Reward Calendar ready....jellybeans or chocolate??? BOTH! The house is as clean as it is going to be.....and just a bit more to do on my story outline, then #Speedbo tomorrow!

Congratulations to the winners! Thanks for the WE. After writing today, I'll reward myself by reading the links and catching up with the posts from last week.

Happy weekend of writing/reading/prepping to everyone. Go #Speedbo with #NoLimits!

I've just finished my second writing sprint today. I've done 2500 words. I know some folks can churn out more, but I'm a steady 1K/day person so I can plan the next scene mentally.

But on Saturday I alternate house stuff with writing. On Saturday NOBODY bothers me and I can just do what I want to do and that's write sweet books!!!!

    Oh mylanta I love Saturdays!!!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Love the WE! I've found so many interesting links. Cannot wait for Speedbo. Am so excited! I would love to win Ruthy's book. A great reward for all the writing I'll be doing this month. If the month goes as planned, I'll then have two almost complete manuscripts to work on and get ready. Then I can put those contest links to work lol. And then get started on another story. This is so much fun!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Woohoo, Speedbo, here we come!!!

I got off to a great start yesterday with over 1500 words on a brand new wip! Hoping Speedbo will speed me on my way!!!

I do have to pause briefly to do final edits on a book due April 1, but I plan to finish it up in the next few days and turn it in early--YIPPEEE!!!!

More interesting links for us to check out--thanks, TINA! And congrats to last week's drawing winners!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I'm trying hard to finish up the last few scenes to write in this draft of this novel. My first goal for SpeedBo is a novella I hope to churn out super fast this week.

[I double checked - Tina I'm not on the SpeedBo 2015 page list :(.]

  38. So happy it's the weekend!!! Congrats to all the winners and good luck to the Speedbo participants! Put my name in the hat for All Dressed Up in Love! I love the Year of Weddings novellas and can't wait to read Ruthy's story :)

  39. Hi Ruth:

You worked 8 years in a bridal shop and it took you, (what 30 books?), and all these years to write about what you knew so well? It was worth the wait -- but why?

Now if I were your agent, I would ask for you to write a magical Christmas sequel so it could be 'reborn again and again' (in a marketing sense) every holiday season! Magic, Romance, Christmas, Weddings: what's not to like?

BTW: I went to your website and it is really pretty! I noticed you have a lot of commentors* over there that I don't see over here. Poachers?

    Vince

*This in not a legitimate word yet but it will be soon.

P.S. Snow here today just like in my picture. I also just finished "Prairie Promises" and I'm going to write a review because I think that story was worth the price of the whole book. I noticed that you poached on Mary's Nebraska in that story. Are you going to write romantic cowboy comedies next?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Oopsie,Carole. Every now and then I am not perfect.

    I am adding you! Apologies.

  41. Great quotes and links. Thanks, Tina!

Just sent off a workshop proposal for the M&M 2015 Conference. Three Seekers involved. Fingers crossed! Anyone planning to attend?

    Congrats to this week's winners.

The sun is shining in Georgia, which makes me very happy!

Are we all ready for SPEEDBO?

  43. My first experience with Speedbo but I'll probably have a slow start. Heading out of town to a prayer conference on Monday and won't be home until Thursday. Hopefully, I can do a little "hotel writing/editing" -- we'll see. :)

    ReplyDelete
  44. Congrats to the winners! Good luck on Speedbo everyone!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Go Jess! Prayer and writing. A powerful combo. Two for one punch.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Hi Tina:

I'm both an OU and OSU fan.

When I came to Oklahoma in 1970 I asked how you can tell an OU fan from an OSU fan. I was told this by many people.

An OU fans roots for OSU to win whenever they are not playing OU. An OSU fan roots for OU to lose no matter who they are playing.

Over 35 years here I've found this to be true!

    Vince

  53. Vince!!!! Didn't you just love Prairie Promises???? And yes, I channeled Mary and stole her historical knowledge because it was prairie focused, but my daughter/editor Beth wants folks to know that I DRAGGED my children to historical stuff when they were young, so the love of history has been lurking a long time...

When I first went to Omaha to annoy Mary, the Prairie Sculpture Garden was one of my favorite things. Amazing to think of what those folks were willing to do... I'm so glad you loved it, you know how much that means to me!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Sally, I'm throwing a bunch of names in right now, even as I draw names from my blog over in Ruthy-land!!!

  73. Hi Cindy W.

I really liked reading your poem first thing this morning! I'm snowed in and my Speedbo material is at my office. I really needed a little cheerleading! If you're not entering Speedbo, I think you'd make a great official cheerleader!

    More poems would be welcome!

  74. God-speed to everyone taking part in the Speedo. I can't, but funnily enough will be hammering away to finish my latest book for that looming deadline.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Hi Ruth:

What I loved most about "Prairie Promises" is how you totally hooked the reader on the first page without blowing anything up and without withholding any backstory. You really showed the amazing power of having instantly sympathetic characters. I think that opening would win a lot of contests.

You also lucked out on the print version because the key words "He's gone" ends the page making it look like a super dramatic chapter ending when it really is not the end of the chapter. That was like getting hit by a left hook that came out of nowhere!

I hope you write more novellas. A paranormal would be really nice.

    Vince

    ReplyDelete
  76. Well, I did it! The first day of Speedbo and I reached my goal of writing 1,000 words. Actually have 1,029. This book needs a lot of work but this goal is good because I am at least getting it down on paper and it can be revised later.

I would love to be entered into the drawing for the first chapter critique, but I would take an Amazon card, too.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Vince, you're an amazing and wonderful friend.

    I love paranormal/fantasy/sci fi.

How did you know? Because I talk about our friend Ray Bradbury????

LOVE STUFF THAT'S A LITTLE OUT THERE.

When I semi-retire I'm going to finish the paranormal story I've got 1/3 done.... and I want you to love it! Thank you, my friend!!!

  80. Yay! It's Speedbo time!!! I am so excited to participate in Speedbo 2015. Please, throw my name in for the drawings.

Side note: I found out Friday I have to have surgery on my right shoulder. Surgery is scheduled for March 17th. Doc said I should be able to resume normal activity in a couple of days. My goal right now is to try and get two or three days ahead on my word count, so I won't get behind.

    Gotta go...time to write!

    ReplyDelete
  81. I've been #Speedboing on #1K1HR with many of you. Today I wrote 1630 words on my new story. I kept reminding myself the goal is to get the words written, and I can edit later.

I'm so glad I signed up! Have a great evening!

  85. Sundays are so filled with 3 services at church I really didn't think I would come close to the goal of 1000 a day. But just finished writing 992.

It has been a great day.

  87. Jackie, I love seeing you working away like this. It's positively inspiring.

Rhonda... best attitude ever about the shoulder and working ahead. I do that, too, and it means I don't have to worry when life throws me curves because I've built in "flex" time. Go you!!!
